Qingxue found herself held captive by Black Yao. She worked to awaken his consciousness, and he gradually regained some sanity, releasing her. Tusu seized the opportunity to defeat Black Yao. Qingxue then approached Black Yao, concerned for him. Black Yao confessed that Shao Gong had poisoned everyone with his refined medicine, which caused them to become "Jiao Ming," and he warned Qingxue that Shao Gong intended to kill everyone.

Black Yao then asked Qingxue to end his life to prevent him from losing control again and harming her. Qingxue, in tears, vowed to save him, but Black Yao ultimately succumbed to the poison and died. Meanwhile, Tong Yi rescued Yin Qianshang, who had been afflicted by a spiritual gu. Yin Qianshang revealed to Tong Yi that Ru Qin had fallen victim to Shao Gong's poisonous schemes.

Tong Yi, alarmed, agreed to Yin Qianshang's proposal to stay with Shao Gong to steal and destroy his medicine pouch to prevent him from harming more people. Yin Qianshang, unwilling for Shao Gong to cause further harm, cooperated with Tong Yi. He engaged Shao Gong, using his saber against Shao Gong's zither, and though defeated, fled to draw Shao Gong away. Shao Gong realized this was a diversion and warned Yin Qianshang not to test his patience again.

While Shao Gong was distracted, Tong Yi managed to destroy his medicine pouch, discovering a Xueyan Dan among its contents. Later, Tusu, Qingxue, and others returned to Qinchuan. They found that everyone in the city, including Ru Qin, had become "living dead" after consuming Shao Gong's Jiao Ming medicine. As sunrise approached, the affected townsfolk, one by one, went towards the morning light and vanished into the sunlight.

Lan Sheng frantically searched for Ru Qin, eventually finding her in a pavilion, only to witness her also vanishing in the sunlight before his eyes, leaving him grief-stricken. Shao Gong then appeared. Lan Sheng confronted him, demanding to know why he was so cruel to Ru Qin. Shao Gong, however, believed his actions were benevolent, ensuring everyone could achieve eternal life. Lan Sheng refused to believe that this twisted individual was the Shao Gong he had known since childhood.

Tusu comforted Lan Sheng, stating that Shao Gong had been deceiving them from the very beginning. Shao Gong, with a distorted mind, defended his actions, criticizing Qingxue's concept of the "heavenly way," and finally confessed to being the one who massacred Wu Meng Valley years ago. Enraged, Lan Sheng attempted to avenge his loved ones, but Yin Qianshang suddenly intervened, attacking Shao Gong. Shao Gong effortlessly defeated Yin Qianshang, then injured Tusu, leaving all of them fallen on the ground.

Tusu noticed a scar on Shao Gong's back, a detail that made him realize Shao Gong was the "Ghost-faced Man" who had killed Zhao Lin and stolen the Sword of Burning Solitude on that fateful day.

Shao Gong, no longer wishing to conceal anything, then truthfully recounted his entire scheme: his initial encounter with a young Han Yunxi (Tusu) outside Wu Meng Valley, his subsequent entry into Tianyong City, and then to Qinchuan, detailing how he meticulously planned and executed each step to manipulate Tusu into taking the Sword of Burning Solitude. His elaborate conspiracy had begun with his meeting with the young Yunxi.

After his confession, Tusu, filled with fury, raised his sword against Shao Gong, but Shao Gong vanished, leaving a message for Tusu and his companions to seek revenge in Penglai. That night, in the empty Fang family home, Lan Sheng wept uncontrollably while clutching the wedding dress Ru Qin had embroidered for him, recalling her past care and regretting his past indifference. The next day, Qingxue asked Tusu about Lan Sheng's condition, worried that he might be contemplating rash actions.

Tusu, witnessing the extent of Shao Gong's heinous deeds, resolved to stop him. Yin Qianshang entered to apologize to Tusu, blaming himself for being unknowingly exploited by Shao Gong for so many years. He also advised Tusu to cherish his relationship with Qingxue and avoid further risks. Lan Sheng remained despondent, but Xiang Ling comforted him, hoping he would overcome his grief soon. After calming down somewhat, Lan Sheng and Xiang Ling went to visit Yue Yan.

Yue Yan, lying on her sickbed, entrusted the Dragon's Scale to Lan Sheng, explaining that it contained something Ru Qin had left for him, and urged him not to cling to hatred. Lan Sheng then sought a secluded spot and, using the Dragon's Scale, viewed an image Ru Qin had left for him. Overwhelmed by sorrow, he shed tears.

Tusu sent Ah Xiang with a message for Lingyue, informing him about Shao Gong's actions and expressing his hope that Lingyue could prevent Lan Sheng from seeking revenge independently. Qingxue was still uncertain about Shao Gong's ultimate purpose for the Sword of Burning Solitude. Tusu believed Shao Gong's final goal was the sword spirit itself.

Qingxue proposed returning to Youdu to consult Nuwa, the great goddess, to ascertain the Sword of Burning Solitude's origins, believing this might reveal Shao Gong's true objective. Yin Qianshang decided to proceed to Penglai to confront Shao Gong. Qingxue, concerned for Yin Qianshang's safety, suggested he return to Youdu with her and Tusu. Yin Qianshang, however, felt too ashamed to return.

He also warned that Penglai's emergence would trigger a major disaster, and he needed to first investigate Shao Gong's movements in the East Sea, agreeing to meet Qingxue there later. Xiang Ling warned Lan Sheng about the dangers of venturing to sea towards Penglai and asked if he wished to accompany Tusu and Qingxue to Youdu.

Lan Sheng, still worried about Yue Yan's health, wished to wait until she recovered sufficiently to settle her in a safe place before making further plans. Unexpectedly, Tea Xiao Guai, who was thought to be dead, suddenly reappeared, surprising everyone. Tea Xiao Guai revealed his identity as a water spirit, explaining that he was injured by Shao Gong during their previous encounter, escaped to the West Sea, and was saved by the Dragon King.

He had returned to convey a message from the Dragon King: the emergence of Penglai would unleash immense catastrophe. Furthermore, a battle between Shao Gong and Long Hai would cause an even greater disaster. The Dragon King urged Tusu and his companions to find a way to stop Shao Gong before the situation escalated. Lan Sheng entrusted Yue Yan to Tea Xiao Guai's care and, after bidding Yue Yan farewell, discussed task allocation with Tusu.

Lan Sheng intended to meet Yin Qianshang in the East Sea and await Tusu's return. Xiang Ling chose to accompany Lan Sheng on this journey. Tusu advised Lan Sheng to act rationally. In Tianyong City, Lingyue was conversing with Fu Qu, who was touched that Lingyue finally considered her. At this moment, Ah Xiang arrived with Tusu's message. Upon learning of Shao Gong's actions, Lingyue promptly reported to his master, Ziyin.

Ziyin lamented that Shao Gong was Tusu's destined tribulation and commanded Lingyue to lead disciples down the mountain to intercept Shao Gong. Tusu and Qingxue, hand in hand, excitedly arrived at the entrance to Youdu to meet the Youdu Elder. Qingxue implored the Elder to preside over a divine summoning ritual to call upon Nuwa to clarify the mysteries of the Sword of Burning Solitude.

The Elder candidly stated that she was now aged and frail, and the ritual would need to be performed by Qingxue herself. While in Qingxue's room, Tusu saw the clay figures he had sculpted as a child. Qingxue then asked him if he knew the legend of Nuwa creating humans. Tusu did not understand the connection to the clay figures, and Qingxue promised to explain after the ritual.

During their time in Youdu, Tusu recalled many joyful memories he shared with Qingxue there, and gradually remembered all the events of his childhood past. A few days later, the divine summoning ritual commenced, with Qingxue serving as the central figure, enabling Nuwa to manifest her true form.
