Yin Qianchang, at Qingyutan, discovered a disciple lying in a flowerbed, afflicted by Dream Soul Branch seeds. This discovery triggered memories of his past with Shaogong, specifically recalling a secret room where Shaogong tested medicine on individuals, including the Dream Soul Branch. Yin Qianchang had previously seen Shaogong using people for drug trials, which led him to question Shaogong's medical ethics and angrily depart.

He later learned that the medicine Shaogong refined through these cruel tests was what saved his own life, causing him to feel he could not truly judge Shaogong's actions and had to accept them, trying to forget. Despite feeling uncomfortable and disagreeing with Shaogong's methods, their friendship endured, and Shaogong invited Yin Qianchang to drink. Back in the present, Yin Qianchang attempted to persuade Shaogong to save the poisoned disciple, but Shaogong refused, deeming it the disciple's own choice.

Yin Qianchang perceived a change in Shaogong since his return from Qin Shi Huang's Mausoleum and tried to dissuade him from his obsession with refining a so-called elixir of immortality, but Shaogong would not listen. Yin Qianchang left the secret room, not intending to return to it. Later, Shaogong was seen examining Longyuan scrolls. Yin Qianchang confronted him, questioning if he had brought items from the previous secret room to Qingyutan and advising him to abandon his desire for resurrection.

Shaogong remarked that Yin Qianchang sounded increasingly like Tong Yi and inquired about Jin Niang's whereabouts. Yin Qianchang, frustrated that he had not found Jin Niang, was then subtly prompted by Shaogong, who hinted that Yuanwu might know. Pressured by Yin Qianchang, Yuanwu revealed that Xun Fang was Jin Niang. Separately, Yuanwu reported to Shaogong that villagers from the mountain base were seeking medicine. Shaogong instructed him to give them "Qinggu Dan," which puzzled Yuanwu.

Shaogong explained the miraculous effects of Qinggu Dan but expressed disappointment in the villagers' greed, stating it would be the last time he would give them medicine. After Yuanwu departed, Shaogong made a statement suggesting an intent to punish these greedy villagers. Meanwhile, Tusu and Qingxue, having escaped Penglai Island, traveled to Yaoshan, a waterside area. Tusu recognized Yaoshan from his dreams, where he had seen an immortal named Taizi Changqin playing music while the monster Qianyu listened.

Qingxue discovered and picked a Moon Spirit Flower growing on a cliff. Immediately after, a monster appeared from the water and attacked, rendering Qingxue unconscious. Tusu bravely protected Qingxue with the Sword of Burning Solitude, fending off the monster's attacks. The monster then transformed into Qianyu, the very creature Tusu had seen in his dreams.

Qianyu smelled the Sword of Burning Solitude and sensed Taizi Changqin's aura on Tusu, declaring that Tusu was no longer Taizi Changqin and that the Sword of Burning Solitude was formed from Taizi Changqin's immortal spirit, now merged with Tusu. He explained that Tusu and Taizi Changqin's immortal spirit were one, and the Taizi Changqin immortal spirit he had sought for a thousand years had been split in two.

Qianyu recounted his past with Taizi Changqin: Qianyu had committed a past error, and to save him, Taizi Changqin was banished to the mortal realm, destined for eternal loneliness, lacking family and love, cursed to be alone, and unable to become an immortal. Qianyu had searched for Taizi Changqin for a thousand years and was finally satisfied to feel his old friend's aura on Tusu before his own death.

Qianyu further explained that Tusu was a combination of human and Taizi Changqin's immortal spirit; though currently sealed, Taizi Changqin's spirit would eventually take over Tusu. He also revealed that if Tusu wished to remove the seal and spirit, his body and soul would dissipate in three days.

Qianyu did not know the location of Taizi Changqin's other half of the immortal spirit or who cruelly tore his soul, but he advised Tusu not to despair, suggesting a unique person might one day help him remove the seal. Despite Qianyu's revelations, Tusu remained confused and firmly believed he was not Taizi Changqin, still wondering why he dreamed of Taizi Changqin. Tusu then stated his purpose for coming to Yaoshan.

Qianyu, sensing his own life was ending, requested Tusu to stay with him a little longer and fulfill two wishes. His first wish was to hear Taizi Changqin's music once more. Though Tusu could not play an instrument, he played a tune on a leaf for Qianyu, who was greatly satisfied and felt transported back to the days he spent with Taizi Changqin.

Qianyu's second wish was to fulfill an ancient promise he had made with Taizi Changqin to travel vast distances and behold the world's landscapes. Tusu reiterated that he was not Taizi Changqin, and Qianyu did not press the matter, instead giving Tusu a dragon scale as a medium to summon him should Tusu decide to fulfill the wish later.

Tusu then inquired about methods of resurrection, to which Qianyu confirmed their existence but warned they were an act against heaven, advising Tusu to let go of such thoughts, just as Taizi Changqin had once said. With that, Qianyu transformed into a dragon and departed.

Tusu stayed by the still unconscious Qingxue, reflecting on Qianyu's warning that gaining power by removing the seal would result in his soul dissipating in three days, and he felt a profound reluctance at the thought. When Qingxue awoke, she noticed Tusu's somber mood and rose to pick up the fallen Moon Spirit Flower. Overcome with emotion, Tusu embraced her and confessed that he would be deeply unhappy if anything untoward were to happen to her.
