At Zixian Villa, Lan Sheng encountered the vengeful spirit of Ye Chenxiang, who revealed she had waited a century for revenge. Lan Sheng clarified that he was not Jin Lei. Upon learning that Jin Lei was dead, Ye Chenxiang departed in sadness and anger. During this time, Lei Yan and Qingyutan disciples arrived with Shao Gong, seeking the Jade Heng, leading to a fierce battle. Xiang Ling sacrificed her inner core to save Lan Sheng, reverting to her original form.

Lingyue and Tu Su helped Xiang Ling heal, and the Qingyu Sinan Pei helped her regain human form. Shao Gong later returned to Jiangdu, where he learned that Jitong had suffered severe injuries, leading him to regret his prior trust in Lei Yan. He informed Ru Qin that Xiang Ling's inner core had been destroyed for Lan Sheng, making her recovery difficult, and asked Ru Qin to agree to Xiang Ling and Lan Sheng's relationship.

Lan Sheng diligently cared for Xiang Ling, which deeply moved Yue Yan. Realizing she could not win Lan Sheng's heart, Yue Yan decided to return to Qin Chuan. She returned Xiang Ling's Five Fire Seven Catch Fan, entrusting Lan Sheng to Xiang Ling and hoping she would care for him, promising not to interfere further. Yue Yan then bid farewell to Lan Sheng and requested the Qingyu Sinan Pei as a keepsake.

Lan Sheng realized it was originally Yue Yan's, which he had kept for years. Yue Yan, having long hoped Lan Sheng would personally return it, now realized such a moment was impossible and took it back. While Hong Yu and Qing Xue were collecting herbs for Xiang Ling, they encountered Xun Fang. Having collected the Jade Heng, Shao Gong believed its restoration could not only remove Tu Su's malevolent aura but also be used to refine elixirs for resurrection.

This revived Tu Su's desire to bring his mother and clan back to life. Tu Su hoped Shao Gong could help him achieve this. Qing Xue learned of Tu Su's idea and advised Shao Gong against helping, believing that life and death have their own laws and resurrection was against nature and therefore impossible. Tu Su, however, was insistent and wanted to try, ignoring Qing Xue's warnings. Lingyue and Hong Yu were worried by Shao Gong's determination.

Hong Yu harbored many suspicions about Shao Gong, finding his character too perfect and his intentions too hidden, thus insisting on testing his relationship with Lei Yan. Lingyue, however, believed Shao Gong's concern for Tu Su was genuine and therefore trusted he was not colluding with Lei Yan. Shao Gong's unwavering insistence on restoring the Jade Heng, with the stated aim of removing Tu Su's malevolent aura, only deepened Hong Yu's doubts about him.

Qian Shang, too, was puzzled by the Shao Gong he saw in his illusions but chose to trust the Shao Gong before him as his good friend and brother. Meanwhile, Tong Yi suddenly awakened and revealed Xun Fang's true identity to Ru Qin, who then considered whether to tell Shao Gong the truth. Unbeknownst to them, Shao Gong was outside the door, eavesdropping on their conversation.
