Reluctant to proceed with the divorce, Xue Yiming is met with Jian Bing's firm resolve. He gathers his belongings, agreeing to finalize the paperwork the following week. Before leaving, Xue Yiming asks to take their "Best Husband" trophy as a keepsake. After he insists, Jian Bing relents but struggles to detach a bottle opener from it.
When she finally gets it off, he jokes that a bottle opener is all he ended up with from their marriage, then soberly apologizes for having let her down. Sheng Yang arrives at Jian Bing's apartment to deliver Luosifen noodles but spots Xue Yiming moving out and quickly hides to avoid being seen. After Xue Yiming drives away, Sheng Yang presents the noodles to Jian Bing as a gesture of gratitude for her professional guidance.
Seeing she isn't in the mood to eat, Sheng Yang takes her to a rooftop overlooking the cityscape. He shares his dream of one day showcasing his designs on the massive advertising screens of the city's skyscrapers. He reminisces about how he used to dislike advertising but has since come to appreciate its potential for beauty and artistry.
As Jian Bing's latest advertisement plays on a nearby building's glass curtain wall, Sheng Yang counts down and cheers loudly for her, encouraging her to release her pent-up emotions. His boyish enthusiasm makes her smile. Meanwhile, Jian Shuang, Jian Bing's younger sister and the only female ice hockey player at her school, receives a message from Jian Bing's assistant about the divorce.
Immediately suspecting Xue Yiming was unfaithful, she is filled with fury and channels her anger into her game, leading her team to victory. Later, as Xue Yiming parks his car in an underground garage, two assailants on a motorcycle attack him. One strikes him with a baton, knocking him unconscious before they flee. Liang Shanshan visits a recovering Xue Yiming in the hospital. He can't identify his attackers, only recalling they wore black and helmets.
Liang Shanshan speculates that he might have provoked a jealous partner by sleeping with the wrong person, but Xue Yiming dismisses the idea. Despite his injuries—an arm in a cast and an IV drip—Xue Yiming is pressured by his client, Mr. Hu, to continue editing the advertisement from his hospital bed. Indignant on his behalf, Liang Shanshan takes it upon herself to finish the work at the company.
Jian Bing, who was waiting downstairs, is relieved to hear from Liang Shanshan that Xue Yiming’s injuries are not life-threatening and leaves. Liang Shanshan reports the assault, and the police soon identify Jian Shuang and her teammate, Hao Junjie, as the primary suspects.
Fang Mu, a music academy professor and Hao Junjie's uncle, learns of the arrest and visits Jian Bing, pleading with her to ask Xue Yiming for leniency, as a criminal record would ruin Hao Junjie's chances of studying abroad. Realizing her sister is involved, Jian Bing accompanies Fang Mu to the police station. She explains the situation and secures their release. Fang Mu suggests they apologize to Xue Yiming, but Jian Shuang flatly refuses.
Jian Bing takes Jian Shuang and Hao Junjie to dinner, where she warns Hao Junjie to stay away from her sister. She scolds Jian Shuang for her impulsiveness, but Jian Shuang defiantly argues she was simply standing up for her. Hao Junjie also defends Jian Shuang's actions. Later, Fang Mu advises his nephew to quit the ice hockey team, distance himself from Jian Shuang, and focus on his music career to protect his future.
Elsewhere, Sheng Yang's mother, Luo Meijuan, shows off an expensive dress she bought for a class reunion, admitting she plans to return it afterward by keeping the tag on. Sheng Yang finds it unflattering, but she insists it looks high-end.
