Just as she was about to order, Jian Bing received an urgent call from her assistant, Lin, informing her that the miniature city landscape model, scheduled for tomorrow's shoot, had collapsed.
Jian Bing immediately decided to return to the studio, and Sheng Yang offered to accompany her to find out what happened. Meanwhile, Pan Rou, following her mother Limei's instructions, went on a blind date. She unexpectedly encountered Song Chen at the same restaurant, who was meeting a woman he connected with online. Inside, Sheng Yang diligently worked on repairing the model, even skipping dinner. Jian Bing, unable to assist with the technical repairs, prepared supper for him and quietly sat by his side, keeping him company. Sheng Yang eventually urged Jian Bing to go home and rest, so she would have energy for the next day's shoot. Jian Bing returned home, but unable to sleep, she simply dozed on the sofa.
Sheng Yang and two prop masters worked tirelessly through the night, finally completing the repair by dawn. However, he discovered that all surveillance files for those dates were missing and there were no backups. Song Chen immediately concluded that the stage collapse was not an accident but a deliberate act, strongly suspecting Wang Youde's involvement.
With the evidence gone, he asked Pan Rou to help him identify the construction supervisor from that day, emphasizing that justice was more important than his job. Later that morning, Liang Shanshan arrived at the studio with a bag of toiletries for Jian Bing, inquiring about her and Sheng Yang. She even lightheartedly suggested that Sheng Yang's presence alone would boost company morale and attendance. Finally, Liang Shanshan revealed her underlying motive: if Jian Bing and Sheng Yang were to get together, it would finally make Xue Yiming completely give up on Jian Bing, as he still harbored feelings for her.
Jian Bing, after considering everything, agreed to arrange an interview for Sheng Yang for the day after tomorrow, leaving the final decision to him. Liang Shanshan then called Sheng Yang, who readily agreed to the interview. Meanwhile, Song Chen located Foreman Wang, the head of the construction team responsible for the exhibition stage.
Song Chen introduced himself as a manager from July Advertising and informed Foreman Wang that the headquarters was investigating the stage collapse, implying it was not an accident but deliberate. He falsely claimed that Wang Youde was under investigation and offered Foreman Wang leniency if he provided evidence. Foreman Wang nervously denied any involvement, asserting they followed blueprints. Song Chen then threatened legal action, stating they would meet in court. Foreman Wang immediately panicked and called Wang Youde.
Wang Youde, in his office, was busy on the phone approving a contract when Pan Rou entered, bringing him some files. He quickly dismissed her, though Pan Rou slyly left a voice recorder in her contract. Wang Youde then told Foreman Wang over the phone that he had personally "erased all CCTV footage that day" and reminded him that they were "in the same boat."
He instructed Foreman Wang to delete all chat and transfer records and ensure the financial books were clean in case of an investigation. Pan Rou, claiming she had left her contract, re-entered Wang Youde's office and retrieved her files, which now contained the recording of his call with Foreman Wang. She promptly sent this incriminating audio, detailing Wang Youde's conspiracy to destroy evidence and manipulate finances, to the "July Advertising Agency group chat." Messages quickly appeared, including one stating, "Sheng Yang was wronged." Upon seeing the recording and the messages, Wang Youde flew into a rage.
