While having lunch at the canteen, Xie Yiyin asked Situ Mo if she believed in pure friendships between men and women, noting that Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi lived together but weren't a couple. Situ Mo quickly denied any romantic involvement, insisting their relationship was absolutely pure. Situ Mo then questioned if Xie Yiyin harbored feelings for Gu Weiyi, which Xie Yiyin openly admitted.
Xie Yiyin also mentioned that Gu Weiyi had already moved back to the new campus for experiments, a fact unknown to Situ Mo, which visibly annoyed her. Just then, Gu Weiyi entered the canteen, prompting Situ Mo to hastily leave with Meng Lu. In her rush, Situ Mo left her meal card and Meng Lu's phone at the canteen. Carrying the kitten in his backpack, a joyful Gu Weiyi waited for Situ Mo at the bus stop. Walking along, he told her the kitten belonged to Zhou Lei, and he was helping to care for it for a few days. Later, while Situ Mo was giving Si Tu Ding Dang a bath, the kitten meowed loudly.
