Lu Ziyue's parents meticulously prepared for Tang Cheng's parents' visit. Lu Father donned a sharp suit, while Lu Mother, unaccustomed to such formality, wore a formal cheongsam and high heels, finding it difficult to maintain her balance. Lu Father discovered that Tang Cheng's parents were highly acclaimed photographers, having won prestigious awards like the National Geographic Global Photography Award and the Hasselblad International Award in Photography.

This made him anxious, worrying if their ordinary background could match Tang Cheng's intellectual family. To create a good impression, they even covered their mahjong table, not wanting to appear as gamblers. When the two families met, Tang Cheng's parents were dressed simply. As a gift, they presented a natural piece of sedimentary rock, hoping Tang Cheng and Lu Ziyue's relationship would be as firm as stone, a gesture both Lu parents appreciated.

Lu Mother, eager to showcase their own cultural depth, urged Lu Father to use all his sophisticated vocabulary during dinner. This led to an awkward meal where Lu parents exaggerated their praise, spoke in overly elaborate terms, and misidentified exotic animals from Tang Cheng's parents' photos, much to the embarrassment of Lu Ziyue and Tang Cheng.

Tang Cheng's parents, however, were relaxed, amiable, and genuinely did not look down on Lu Ziyue's parents, sharing fascinating stories from their fieldwork, like a close encounter with lions. At one point, Lu Father accidentally pressed a button, causing the hidden mahjong table to rise from the floor, creating an uncomfortable silence. Deciding to drop all pretense, Lu Mother admitted that she and her husband were just ordinary people who were overly concerned for their son.

Tang Cheng's parents, in turn, expressed their approval of Lu Ziyue, revealing that he had secretly helped them a lot. They confessed their guilt for often leaving Tang Cheng to raise herself while they were away on animal rescue missions. They were relieved that Tang Cheng would be welcomed into such a loving family.

To everyone's surprise, Tang Mother then casually asked if Lu Ziyue’s parents could teach them how to play mahjong, a request Lu Mother enthusiastically agreed to, completely forgetting about the marriage discussion. Meanwhile, Zheng Weijue was enraged by a series of lost orders and confronted his team. He questioned Mowgli about Ling Xi's interference, but Mowgli offered to handle it himself.

Zheng Weijue rejected Mowgli's offer, opting to deal with Ling Xi personally and sending Mowgli on a business trip out of town. Ling Xi later went to meet Ms. Chen at a club, only to find Zheng Weijue there. Ms. Chen suggested they resolve their issues and excused herself to the sauna. Alone, Zheng Weijue tried to reconcile, asking Ling Xi what she wanted.

Ling Xi firmly demanded that he publicly clear her father's name before all Wharf employees and admit his own betrayal. Zheng Weijue refused, dismissing her efforts as "a drop in the ocean" to him, a claim Ling Xi knew was false.

She then went to sauna room 404 to meet Ms. Chen but found herself locked inside by Zheng Weijue, who started singing Beijing opera outside, ignoring her desperate cries for help as the room temperature soared to 47 degrees Celsius. Mowgli, on his way to the airport for his business trip, felt a premonition of danger regarding Ling Xi. He turned back, rushing to the club, where he heard Ling Xi's weakening calls for help.

Remembering his past regrets about her, he vowed not to abandon her again, even if the truth remained unknown. As Mowgli was about to force open the sauna door, Zheng Weijue unexpectedly unlocked it from outside, telling Ling Xi not to leave herself without an escape route and warning her that next time, no one would open the door. Ling Xi stumbled out, collapsing just as Mowgli ducked out of sight.

Soon after, Li Yuheng, who had been unable to reach Ling Xi by phone and left his meeting early, arrived and found her unconscious. He was annoyed that he hadn't accompanied her to this "banquet at Hong Gate" (a trap) and declared his determination to protect her and not let her face dangers alone, all while Mowgli watched from a distance, hidden. After regaining consciousness, Ling Xi remembered being trapped by Zheng Weijue and his singing.

She thanked Li Yuheng for saving her, though jokingly only recalled his comment about her collagen, not his serious words. Li Yuheng then took her out for hotpot, where they talked happily. He revealed that Zheng Weijue had left with Ms. Chen, confirming that the sauna incident was a calculated trap. Feeling overwhelmed by Zheng Weijue's power, Ling Xi expressed her despair.

Li Yuheng encouraged her by sharing the story of the Panzer Maus tank, which was too big to be effective, implying that Zheng Weijue’s extensive operations could be his downfall. He informed her that Zheng Weijue had invested all his assets in the Senmu project and was now facing a severe cash flow problem. This rekindled Ling Xi's determination to rally investors against him. Li Yuheng offered his connections in the investment world to help, advising her to rest.

Ling Xi thanked him, complimenting his charisma, and offered to assist him in return. Li Yuheng attempted to confess his feelings for her, but stumbled over his words, only managing to pivot to a comment about her eating too much tofu. Li Yuheng actively worked to turn investors against Zheng Weijue, causing Zheng Weijue considerable distress as he struggled to find new funding.

Zheng Weijue confronted Li Yuheng at a dessert shop, questioning his motives for interfering in what he claimed was just a business dispute. Li Yuheng countered that he felt obligated to warn others about dishonest business practices, comparing Zheng Weijue to a vendor selling bad fruit. He disregarded Zheng Weijue's concerns about personal losses, stating firmly that "If Ling Xi is happy, it's worth it."

Later, Mowgli, who had returned from his business trip and heard about the company's deepening financial crisis and Zheng Weijue's failed attempts to secure investment, encountered Li Yuheng outside the dessert shop. Mowgli, after receiving a phone call, took Li Yuheng's car keys and drove off. Meanwhile, Ling Xi shared a cake Li Yuheng bought for her with Tang Cheng and another friend.

Tang Cheng revealed that Li Yuheng had "almost died of alcohol poisoning" trying to persuade investors on Ling Xi's behalf, information that shocked Ling Xi. Tang Cheng urged Ling Xi to move past her heartbreak over Mowgli and consider Li Yuheng, but Ling Xi found it difficult to accept.

As they discussed the complexities of starting new relationships after a breakup, Ling Xi announced her decision to focus on charity, such as an upcoming trip to Qinghai Lake to pick up trash, citing environmental concerns. Mowgli arrived at a remote village and spoke with the village chief, who initially suspected Mowgli was involved with a group of "prospectors" and "inspection teams."

The chief complained about these groups causing chaos in the mountains, setting "wild animal traps" and digging pits, strongly suggesting illegal activities. Upon further conversation, the village chief, Mr. Xia, recognized Mowgli as "Ye."
