Love O2O Episode 17 Recap
> Love O2O Recap
Hao Mei was deeply puzzled by who had hacked into his computer. To console his wounded heart, he decided to treat himself to a big meal at his chef friend KO's eatery. He encouraged KO to drink with him, and after a few drinks, began to complain about how exhausting his work was.
Hao Mei lamented that his brain felt numb and his shoulders and neck ached, claiming his job as a programmer was twice as tiring as KO's work as a chef. KO, cool and collected, suggested he could quit if he was so tired. Hao Mei quickly dismissed the idea, stating it was a company he started with his buddies and he couldn't abandon it.
He then mentioned that their Third Brother, Xiao Nai, had double his workload, which made him feel a little better. As the night progressed, Hao Mei drank heavily and became quite inebriated. Unable to get an address out of him, KO ended up taking Hao Mei back to his own place to sleep it off. The next morning, Hao Mei woke up in KO's bed, feeling unusually revitalized.
He half-jokingly asked KO if he had put something special in his food to restore his energy so quickly, as if his health points had been instantly replenished. After thanking KO for his hospitality, Hao Mei departed. Meanwhile, KO used blocking software to make a call to Xiao Nai. A tech challenge ensued over the phone, with KO challenging Xiao Nai to find his number within half an hour.
Instead of using a technical hack, Xiao Nai took an unconventional approach: he called the mobile carrier, reported being harassed by an unknown number, and was promptly given KO's contact information. When Xiao Nai called him back, he questioned KO's motives, knowing his reputation as a lone wolf. KO then proposed a challenge: they should both compete in the WCTF World Geek Competition. If KO lost, he would work for Zhi Yi Technology for free for an entire year.
Xiao Nai reminded KO that a good hacker isn't necessarily a good programmer, but readily accepted the challenge. They agreed that whoever solved the most problems would win, and Xiao Nai declared his intention to break the existing record. The next day at Zhi Yi Technology, A Shuang and Yu Banshan were abuzz with the news that two Chinese IPs had broken the records at the WCTF competition, scoring 69 and 68 points respectively.
Xiao Nai then announced the arrival of a new colleague, cryptically offering "the temple" as a hint. Hao Mei immediately realized this must be the hacker who had changed his desktop wallpaper to a temple. Enraged, he rushed to retrieve a mop, vowing to teach the perpetrator a lesson. To his utter shock, the new colleague who walked in was his chef friend, KO.
Despite his earlier anger, Hao Mei confessed a certain excitement at discovering the renowned hacker was his friend. His only lingering question was why KO had changed his desktop goddess to a temple. KO's simple response was, "She's not good looking." With KO at the company, Hao Mei's work pressure significantly decreased, and Yu Banshan playfully commented that his face had regained its youthful glow, attributing it to the "power of friendship."
Later, Yu Banshan noticed Xiao Nai leaving early and inquired about his urgent departure. Xiao Nai cryptically replied, "Getting married and having children," leaving Yu Banshan bewildered. In the game, Xiao Nai and Weiwei were preparing for the wedding of their in-game pet tigers. At the Stone of Three Lives, the matchmaker performed a quasi-marriage ceremony for their spirit beasts, stating they could move into their bridal chamber after 8:00 PM.
However, a system message appeared: "Sorry, your Spirit Beasts' online times have not yet reached 150 hours. They are considered minors and cannot move in together." Frustrated, Weiwei had to continue spending time in the game with the tigers to accumulate the required hours. Back home, Weiwei purchased a new phone, intentionally choosing the same model as Xiao Nai's.
Pondering what to send as her first message, she devised a prank: a fake lottery win, requiring a ¥1,000 payment for taxes and fees. To make it convincing, she included her bank account number, fully expecting Xiao Nai to dismiss it as spam so she could tease him about it later. While having dinner with her parents, Weiwei was shocked to receive a notification that Xiao Nai had actually transferred ¥1,000 to her account.
She discreetly called him, and he explained that he knew it was her because he had checked the phone's location. He also teased her about her "unprofessional trickery," as she hadn't included a recipient name for the bank transfer. Xiao Nai then told her the ¥1,000 was for a plane ticket and recited a poetic invitation: "The flowers on the path have bloomed; you may slowly make your return." His words immediately filled Weiwei with an eagerness to fly back.
She successfully convinced her parents by telling them she was going to do a summer internship and would be staying at her good friend Xiao Ling's house. Weiwei took a flight back and headed directly to Zhi Yi Technology, believing Xiao Nai's earlier statement that no one else would be in the office on a Saturday. To her dismay, she found not only Yu Banshan but also a group of clients waiting for Xiao Nai.
Carrying her luggage, Weiwei felt a sudden awkwardness, like she had been caught eloping. Xiao Nai emerged from his office, showing no surprise at her arrival. He calmly handled his clients, then quickly pushed Weiwei's suitcase into his office. Weiwei felt a pang of disappointment at his composed reaction, but as soon as they were alone, Xiao Nai pressed her against the wall and kissed her deeply. Yu Banshan playfully called out a reminder about the waiting clients.
Feeling shy, Weiwei found an excuse to escape after Xiao Nai returned to his guests and went to Xiao Ling's house to start cleaning. After finishing with his clients, Xiao Nai called her. Upon getting the address, he soon arrived, and Weiwei promptly directed him to the kitchen, telling him not to come out until it was spotless.
