Du Lin, having turned herself in, is met by Du Lei. With tears in his eyes, Du Lei promises his sister that he will take care of their father. Du Lin tells him that he is not at fault and that this ending is what she deserves. She thanks him for making her realize that to truly love someone is to give them what they need, not what you think they need.
She encourages him to pursue his own life and reminds him that if he ever feels tired, the Du family will always be his home. Du Lei embraces his sister, promising to take care of their father and reminding her that they will always be one family. Yuan Shuai catches up with an angry Jiang Jun and tries to explain himself, but she slaps him.
Jia Yuanji arrives and tries to defend Yuan Shuai, but is quickly distracted by Qiao Na. He attempts to flirt with her, but she dismisses him as a "kid." Yuan Shuai goes to Jiang Jun's apartment to apologize, but she kicks him out, suitcase and all, and changes the password to her door. Dejected, Yuan Shuai goes to a bar to drink and runs into Du Lei.
He is annoyed to hear that Du Lei does not plan on leaving MH and feels provoked by his rival. Determined not to let Jiang Jun fall for any of Du Lei's plans, Yuan Shuai quickly devises a strategy to win her back. The next day, Jiang Jun and Xu Li go shopping. Yuan Shuai, hoping to catch a glimpse of Jiang Jun, runs into Xiaochuan, who is trying to do the same with Xu Li.
They follow the girls but end up losing them. The four later end up in the same restaurant by coincidence. At their respective tables, Yuan Shuai encourages Xiaochuan to pursue Xu Li, while Jiang Jun tells Xu Li to forget about Xiaochuan. When the topic of reconciliation comes up between the two pairs, Jiang Jun and Yuan Shuai unknowingly give the same reasons for not getting back together. Jiang Jun leaves with Xu Li, sticking Yuan Shuai with the bill.
Yuan Shuai smiles, realizing from her words that Jiang Jun still cares deeply about him. He begins his plan of "pestering," relentlessly sending her gifts, food, and breakfast. Although Jiang Jun feigns annoyance, she secretly enjoys his attention. Xiaochuan gathers his courage and invites Xu Li to the Western World 2. 0 launch event. Hesitant to be hurt again, Xu Li decides to watch the online broadcast instead. On stage, Xiaochuan begins his presentation, introducing the new wristband design.
During the Q&A session, a reporter asks about the inspiration behind the upgrade. Xiaochuan speaks of a girl with whom he had only a 1% compatibility match, which made him realize that his algorithm could be wrong. When asked if the girl is present, he suddenly realizes that Xu Li is waiting for him. Meanwhile, Xu Li is watching the live broadcast. Xiaochuan suddenly runs off the stage, followed by the media, and finds Xu Li at a convenience store.
He pulls her away to the aquarium, the place where he first fell for her. Xiaochuan puts the new wristband on Xu Li, but their compatibility still shows as 1%. Disappointed, Xu Li turns to leave, asking him to stop looking for her. Watching her walk away, Xiaochuan abandons his faith in algorithms and shouts out that he likes her. He embraces her, telling her how much he has missed her since she left.
As he confesses his feelings, their compatibility on the wristband reaches 100%. Jiang Jun returns home to her mother. Yuan Shuai arrives soon after, not to pursue Jiang Jun, but to present her mother with the documents to transfer the brand "Yixianqian," which belonged to Jiang Jun's father, back into her name. Overcome with emotion, Jiang Jun's mother sheds tears of joy and sincerely thanks Yuan Shuai. Later, Yuan Shuai brings Jiang Jun to their old high school classroom.
On the blackboard, Yuan Shuai has written down all the ways he bullied her as a child, offering to let her get her revenge. However, Jiang Jun doesn't want revenge for the past; she wants to know if he truly understands what he did wrong this time. Yuan Shuai admits his biggest mistake was not trusting her enough to share the risks he was taking, and he apologizes sincerely.
Jiang Jun smiles, offering him a chance for forgiveness, but decides on a punishment first: she wants to spank him. She warns him that this is his only chance to accept, or they will break up for good. After some protest, Yuan Shuai reluctantly agrees. Jiang Jun and Yuan Shuai stroll down a street from their childhood. Yuan Shuai complains that she's still giving him the cold shoulder.

The moment causes them to reminisce about a similar conversation from their past, where a young Jiang Jun asked when he would stop bullying her. When she asks the same question again, Yuan Shuai smiles, promising to protect her forever, and hugs her tightly.
