Tushan Jing, leading his friends and family, added grandeur to the celebration for Hao Ling Jiuyao’s clinic. He arranged for Doctor Yin to join as a resident physician and gifted a plaque reading "Huichun Hall," symbolizing healing and benevolence. Jiuyao cherished the gift and was overjoyed. Quietly observing everything, Jingye felt genuine happiness for Tushan Jing, who had finally realized his long-held wish to help Jiuyao fulfill her dream.

At that moment, Doctor Yin, standing beside Jingye, seized the joyous mood to confess his feelings to her. The two shared a smile and held hands, becoming another heartwarming sight at the celebration. Seeing this, Hao Ling Jiuyao felt a surge of warmth and turned to Tushan Jing with a smile. “When they get married, we must give them a grand gift,” she said. Jing smiled and nodded, his eyes full of affection and care for her.

However, amid the joyful atmosphere, Tushan Jing suddenly sensed an unusual gaze. Alert, he looked into the distance but saw no one suspicious. Hidden nearby, Chenrong Xinyue pulled her maid into hiding, her emotions a whirlwind. Watching Jiuyao and Jing’s happiness filled her with jealousy and bitterness, yet she knew this feeling must remain buried. Recently, rumors about Hao Ling Jiuyao had been spreading like wildfire.

Tushan Jing was troubled and suspected the forces behind them to be the Chenrong and Chishui clans. To protect Jiuyao and find the truth, he decided to travel to Ancient Shu and Beiliu City to meet the leaders of the Xiling and Guifang clans in hopes of cutting off the source of the slander. Before leaving, he carefully instructed Jingye to tell Jiuyao he was away on clan business and promised a quick return.

Upon returning, Tushan Jing rushed to see Hao Ling Jiuyao. The two reunited with deep affection, expressing how much they had missed each other. Speaking of the future, Jing said he would soon return to Qingqiu for a ritual and promised to come back quickly. He also shared that Fangfeng Yiying’s matter would soon be settled—once the elders announced her death in the new year, they could plan their wedding.

However, when the rumors about Jiuyao’s background came up, she grew despondent. Jing gently comforted her, and they embraced tightly, ready to face the world together. Due to the rumors, turmoil stirred in court. One minister even suggested that Xi Yan Cang Xuan send Hao Ling Jiuyao away. Enraged, Cang Xuan sternly warned the court that only the wise can end rumors, silencing them.

Learning of this, the King of Hao Ling bestowed numerous treasures upon Jiuyao to show his comfort and favor, warming her heart. She and Tushan Jing agreed to reunite in Hao Ling when spring arrived to continue their bond. On New Year’s Eve, Xi Yan Cang Xuan went alone to Xiaoyue Peak, which angered Chenrong Xinyue and deepened her jealousy of Hao Ling Jiuyao. Meanwhile, in the palace, Jiuyao shared a joyful reunion dinner with her grandfather and Cang Xuan.

Slightly drunk, she asked her grandfather about her mysterious background. He affectionately replied that no matter her origins, she was the daughter of the West Yan kingdom’s Great General Princess and his beloved granddaughter—this family bond would never change. Late at night, Jiuyao went out with Cang Xuan and Tushan Jing for grilled meat. Unexpectedly, they overheard General Li Yuan and others discussing Akachen and Jiuyao’s mother.

Someone even claimed that the Great General Princess had openly confessed her love for Akachen. Hearing this, Jiuyao was devastated and walked away alone. Tushan Jing, seeing her leave, questioned Cang Xuan about the truth behind the rumors. Though he already knew in his heart, he still hoped for an answer. Cang Xuan fell silent, only saying everything he did was for Jiuyao, then turned and left, leaving behind questions and reflection.

Jiuyao sought the one-armed old man but found he had passed away. Grief overwhelmed her, and she wept bitterly. Just then, Xiang Liu appeared quietly. Jiuyao angrily asked if he had come to mock her. Xiang Liu calmly replied he was only there to mourn an old friend and said there was nothing to laugh at. When Jiuyao brought up Akachen, Xiang Liu instead encouraged her to trust her mother’s judgment and not be swayed by outside gossip, which eased Jiuyao’s emotions slightly.
