He claimed he arrived just as Xiao Xiao was being attacked, which is how he got injured.
Although his story was plausible, Li Zeliang remained suspicious, admitting that his uncle Huo Jian's betrayal had made him wary of everyone. Alone, Xie Minghao recalled a past encounter at the hospital. A doctor had advised him that Li Kuo Hai was in a fragile mental state and should not be disturbed. Shortly after, he ran into Liu Ah Wei, a window cleaner to whom he had previously provided legal aid for his daughter Xiao Xiao’s hearing issues.
A distraught Liu Ah Wei showed Xie Minghao a video he had accidentally recorded while working, which captured a powerful figure, Huo Jian, removing Li Kuo Hai's oxygen mask. Warning Liu Ah Wei of the danger of reporting such a man, Xie Minghao preyed on his desperation for money for Xiao Xiao's cochlear implant. He offered to handle the video as a lawyer and advance the reward money.
Liu Ah Wei handed over the USB drive, insisting he had no backups, and agreed to leave the city immediately for his family's safety. However, Xie Minghao harbored a ruthless private thought, vowing to eliminate Liu Ah Wei if he had lied about not having a copy. While recovering at Liu Ah Wei's home, Xie Minghao questioned Liu's wife, Madam Xia, about the USB drive.
Grateful for his help with Xiao Xiao, she confessed she knew nothing of its contents, as her husband had forbidden her from looking and she was not tech-savvy. She confirmed it was the only USB drive he owned and that he had no close friends. She only remembered him once drunkenly mentioning he had witnessed something terrifying, which prompted their abrupt move to the secluded town.
As Li Zeliang was reassuring Su Xieyi that they would find another clue, Xiao Xiao appeared and presented them with the very USB drive they were searching for. Madam Xia tried to send them away, but Xiao Xiao bravely explained that she had swapped the real USB drive with a fake one when her mother initially refused to hand it over.
Therefore, the drive her mother later gave them, which was snatched and destroyed by Huo Jian's men, was the fake. Li Zeliang and Su Xieyi praised Xiao Xiao's cleverness, and Su Xieyi remarked that miracles happen to those who don't give up. The next morning, Li Zeliang and Su Xieyi rushed back to the city. During breakfast, Ji Yingsong's assistant accidentally revealed to Xie Minghao that they had found new evidence, leaving Xie Minghao visibly stunned.
Li Zeliang immediately called Shi Chuchu, telling her he had definitive proof of Huo Jian's crimes and to meet him with her laptop. After a manipulative assurance of love, he shamelessly begged her to take the fall for everything, including forcing him to commit murder. Realizing the depth of his betrayal, Yi Fei slapped him. Li Zeliang initially dismissed it as a final, desperate lie. However, he later discussed it with Ji Yingsong, conceding that Huo Jian's motive for attacking Zhiwei had always seemed weak. They agreed to investigate "K of Spades," fearing Su Xieyi could be in danger if such a person existed. Meanwhile, Xie Minghao called Su Xieyi to arrange a meeting after seeing the news. Li Zeliang accompanied her and, upon arrival, sent her to buy fruit.
