Li Zheng, in order to protect the innocent people in the midst of war, established a stronghold in the Hunan area, composed of forty-eight martial arts sects. After years of rest and recuperation, the forty-eight strongholds were already filled with talented individuals and were thriving. The forty-eight strongholds were isolated from the outside world by the Washing Ink River, which was already a natural barrier difficult to cross.
Coupled with Yu Lao's array defense, anyone who attempted to trespass into the stronghold invariably met their demise.
