The TV is reporting the news of Dickey's confession. Feifei, feeling upset, believes that Dickey is just a scapegoat and suspects Yuan Shengjie of being lazy and incompetent. Wei Xiaochen speaks up for Yuan Shengjie, pointing out that the existing evidence does not prove the involvement of others, and since Dickey confessed voluntarily, Yuan Shengjie had no other choice. However, she believes that Yuan Shengjie will not let it end there. At the police station, Yuan Shengjie suggests treating his subordinates to a late-night meal. They are concerned that he might not want to pursue the case further and keep questioning him. While walking, Yuan Shengjie instructs them to eat quickly and mentions visiting Dickey's wife the next day. Excited, his subordinates happily follow him.
Limin Group holds a press conference. Tu Wenno, upon entering the venue, inquires about Liang Xi, who is absent. Tu Wenno, trying to hide his disappointment, announces the details of Dickey's bomb design and the radiation sand on the artificial island to restore Limin's reputation. To appease the public, Tu Wenno donates some land, but reporters remain skeptical, asking sharp questions. When Tu Wenno finishes speaking, Liang Xi is already standing in the audience. Tu Wenno feels better, thinking Liang Xi's move is the right choice, assigning her to take over Dickey's work.
In the office, Wei Xiaochen, as Liang Xi, becomes the manager of Limin and discovers someone spying on her. She quickly closes the blinds to block the view, answers a call from an unknown number cautiously, and arranges to meet with the caller. This incident warns Wei Xiaochen that Liang Xi's identity is more complex than she thought, understanding why Tu Wenno mentioned she was working for another boss. Wei Tingzhao feels that Liang Xi has changed, so he contacts Liang Xi's former boss, An Pei, to confirm her background.
Yuan Shengjie and his team go to find Dickey's wife but discover that their house is empty, and even their daughter has transferred schools with no information about their whereabouts. Yuan Shengjie, now more convinced of his suspicions, knows that Dickey was just a scapegoat, and with his wife and daughter missing, his suspicions are strengthened. Suddenly, the evidence room at the police station catches fire. Yuan Shengjie identifies a woman through surveillance footage, but her face is obscured by a hat. They can only rely on facial recognition to identify her. Wei Xiaochen, aware of the incident at the police station, contacts Yuan Shengjie, hoping he can send her the surveillance photos as Feifei might be able to help.
Yuan Shengjie has already discovered that the woman impersonating a policewoman is Zheng Guizhi. When he arrives at Zheng Guizhi's residence, Wei Xiaochen is already there and finds a work card and a burnt police uniform. Fa Ge, who was shot that day, is not dead and is undergoing treatment in the hospital. Wei Xiaochen discovers that Zheng Guizhi works at the same hospital and, worried about Fa Ge's safety, hurries with Yuan Shengjie to confirm that Fa Ge met Wei Tingzhao that day. They both conclude that Tu Wenno is up to something, but without evidence to arrest him, they can only assign someone to protect Fa Ge. An Pei has evidence of Liang Xi's insurance fraud and uses it to threaten Wei Xiaochen into helping him enter Limin Company. When discussing this matter, Wei Xiaochen notices a nurse wearing different gloves, and her intuition tells her that Fa Ge is in danger. She rushes to catch up but is too late, as Fa Ge has already been injected with a drug, trembling uncontrollably. Axi goes after Zheng Guizhi, shooting her in the leg. Zheng Guizhi, at the stairwell, falls and dies on the spot, and it seems that the lead is about to be lost.
Wei Xiaochen worries that if An Pei goes to Limin, he will see through her identity. So, she joins forces with Feifei to take control of An Pei first. They believe that, given An Pei's character, he must have committed many illegal acts. Liang Xi returns to the insurance company, uses the opportunity of using the computer to let Feifei break through the company's firewall, and then, claiming to have received threatening messages, asks An Pei to delete files. An Pei, concerned about security, logs in to check and is caught off guard by Feifei, who steals all his files. An Pei not only fails to get a good deal from Wei Xiaochen but also gets physically beaten without uttering a word.
