Zhong suddenly died, and Yuan Shengjie brought people from the Green World to give statements, even though Tina, Mabel, and Dennis looked different, they all refused to speak, claiming that nothing had happened. They asked Yuan Shengjie to talk to Wei Xiaochen to prove that they hadn't been up to anything recently. Yuan Shengjie noticed that Mabel was the most timid, so he asked Wei Xiaochen to use her as a breakthrough. It turned out that the people from the Green World had secretly acted without Wei Xiaochen's knowledge. They had intended to sabotage the equipment and cement in the new area to delay the construction. However, they didn't expect Zhong to discover the black money in the cement bags.
Tina asked everyone not to take the money and leave quickly, but Zhong was in need of money, so he broke the rules and took some. However, he was greedy and went back the next day to take more. He invited Mabel and Dennis, but they were too timid to go with him. Zhong went to the construction site alone and ended up dead that night.
Wei Xiaochen suspected that someone had found out that Zhong had been to the construction site and decided to silence him elsewhere. She believed that this had something to do with Yang Junxiong from the New Territory. Yuan Shengjie couldn't understand why the New Territory, with its financial resources, would need to launder black money. Wei Xiaochen explained that human greed can be hard to control, even though Yang Junxiong was already wealthy.
Tu Wennuo saw the news of Zhong's death and knew that Yang Junxiong would eventually come under suspicion. He felt relieved and immediately asked Wei Tingzhao for the next steps. Wei Tingzhao was concerned that Wei Xiaochen might already be suspicious of them, so he decided to go directly to Wei Xiaochen to find out what she knew. Wei Xiaochen felt that Tu Wennuo's focus on Zhong, a minor character, was excessive. Tu Wennuo pretended that the reason he was interested in Zhong was that they were friends. Wei Xiaochen explained that she and Zhong had only worked together as volunteers and knew nothing about his other activities.
Feifei was apologizing to Zhong's photo when Wei Xiaochen knocked on the door. She saw that Feifei not only felt guilty about Zhong's death but also knew that Yuan Shengjie had said they didn't need his help finding the cement manufacturer. She realized that Feifei was monitoring her and had sent photos to Tu Wennuo. She warned Feifei not to act recklessly, as Zhong might have been targeted because of him.
Wei Xiaochen saw the bags of cement that Tina had not burned completely and, based on the patterns she had noted, had the Singapore Police, Peng Zhuoqi, trace the cement manufacturer. Yuan Shengjie invited Wei Xiaochen to a café to discuss things. Wei Xiaochen had just received information about the professor and Yuan Shengjie also received it. They went together to the location of the professor and fell into a trap set by someone else. Wei Xiaochen was attacked by an assassin, but due to her strong abilities and Yuan Shengjie's assistance, she narrowly escaped. The assassin was dead, and Wei Xiaochen suspected that the assassin was from another group. She believed that someone from Singapore had sent the assassin. Yuan Shengjie was puzzled because the case had already been closed, yet someone tried to kill Wei Xiaochen, suggesting that the professor still wanted to cover things up.
Wei Tingzhao was analyzing Liang Xi's information and learned that the assassin had failed again. He became more suspicious of Wei Xiaochen and received a promise from the assassin organization that they would kill Wei Xiaochen since he had paid them.
Yuan Shengjie went to Yang Junxiong and obtained the cement allocation form from him. He then went to Wei Xiaochen, and they decided to inspect the cement from Country Y. Yang Junxiong had been monitoring Yuan Shengjie's movements and, when he saw Yuan Shengjie with Wei Xiaochen, he believed that Wei Xiaochen was not only helping him and Tu Wennuo but also helping Yuan Shengjie. He instructed Carter not to follow them anymore and arranged for a familiar driver to deliver the cement. Yuan Shengjie and Wei Xiaochen arrived at the construction site and saw that the cement truck was about to take the cement away. Wei Xiaochen wanted to inspect it directly, but since it was private property, it would be illegal to do so. Yuan Shengjie intercepted the cement truck on the road and dug into the cement but found no black money. He was frustrated and questioned the driver about why he was delivering cement so late, but the driver provided no useful information, so they had to give up.
Yuan Shengjie's people discovered that Brittany had worked in an upscale private club, so they went to visit her. They eventually pressured someone to admit knowing Brittany and Wei Xiaochen, revealing that both of them had worked there before. Yuan Shengjie was surprised to learn about Wei Xiaochen's past and decided to meet her. Yang Junxiong and Tu Wennuo received a new message at the same time. Feifei had been monitoring Yang Junxiong's computer activity and found that he was in contact with Tu Wennuo. They had also purchased a model together, which made them suspect that both of them were involved in money laundering. Feifei quickly informed Wei Xiaochen.
