Wei Xiaochen managed to capture Jia Haoai before he boarded the ship, intending to settle the score for her father's murder and the transplant of her heart into Tu Wennuo. Jia Haoai admitted to killing Liang's father but steadfastly denied performing surgery on Tu Wennuo. Wei Xiaochen repeatedly pressed Jia Haoai, but he refused to confess. At this moment, Jia Haoai seized the opportunity to pull out a small knife from his chest and viciously stabbed Wei Xiaochen. Yuan Shengjie arrived with the police just in time, and someone shot and killed Jia Haoai during this critical moment, saving Wei Xiaochen.
Wei Xiaochen suspected that Jia Haoai was not the "Professor" she had been searching for all along. However, based on the information found on Jia Haoai's computer, Yuan Shengjie confirmed that Jia Haoai was, in fact, the Professor. The computer contained numerous donor IDs and DNA reports. Wei Xiaochen doubted that the Professor was lying about not performing surgery on Tu Wennuo. But Yuan Shengjie had already investigated Jia Haoai's whereabouts a year ago and was certain that Jia Haoai had been in Hong Kong all along. He believed that Tu Wennuo might not have undergone surgery in Singapore, but Wei Xiaochen firmly trusted that Tu Wennuo wouldn't deceive her in this matter. Yuan Shengjie knew many things about Liang Xi but was unaware that the person he was facing was not Liang Xi. He hoped that she could trust him enough to be honest about her own secrets someday.
Wei Xiaochen was concerned about her father's passing and his financial situation, so she folded a lot of paper money as an offering. Yuan Shengjie, seeing Tu Wennuo comforting Wei Xiaochen, felt dejected and found an excuse to leave. The nursing home called Wei Xiaochen, informing her that there were still some belongings of her father there. She had originally arranged to meet with Yuan Shengjie to confess everything. When she saw the bead among her father's belongings, she remembered that her father had given it to her when her parents divorced. They had agreed that if the cord ever broke, she would come back to him to have it rethreaded. However, after her mother brought her to Singapore, they lost contact. Wei Xiaochen had once been heartbroken and disappointed, and when she saw the bead again, tears welled up, and she went to a bar alone. She even made a declaration that if someone could rethread the bead, she would leave with them tonight.
The bar was filled with men looking to make advances. When a man heard Wei Xiaochen's statement, he spiked her drink. Wei Xiaochen realized she had been drugged and was unable to resist. Fortunately, Yuan Shengjie had someone find her and drove the man away. Wei Xiaochen had Yuan Shengjie on her mind and, under the influence of alcohol, kissed him. That night, they slept together. The next morning, Wei Xiaochen woke up and saw Yuan Shengjie diligently tying the bead, which deeply touched her. She learned that Yuan Shengjie had spent the entire night learning how to tie the knot, and she was touched by his effort. At that moment, a shadow passed by the door. Yuan Shengjie and Wei Xiaochen exchanged a glance and took up positions. When the intruder suddenly burst into the room, targeting Wei Xiaochen, Yuan Shengjie immediately intervened. Wei Xiaochen narrowly escaped death at the hands of the assassin, and she confided in Yuan Shengjie after the assassin accidentally fell from a building and died. Yuan Shengjie could accept that Wei Xiaochen was Liang Xi's twin sister, but he couldn't connect the dots between Liang Xi and organ trafficking. Yuan Shengjie was deeply upset to learn that Liang Xi had her heart removed while in Singapore.
Yuan Shengjie felt overwhelmed by this revelation and didn't know how to process it. He drove to a remote location in a daze and vented his frustration by banging on the steering wheel. Wei Xiaochen was worried that Yuan Shengjie might lose control and harm Tu Wennuo, so she quickly asked Feifei for help in tracking them down. However, Yuan Shengjie had already removed his phone's SIM card, making it impossible to track him. Wei Xiaochen hurriedly instructed Feifei to monitor Tu Wennuo. When she saw that Yuan Shengjie had indeed gone to find Tu Wennuo and was taking him away, she became anxious. She asked Feifei to provide her with Yuan Shengjie's location. Upon arriving at the scene, Wei Xiaochen witnessed Yuan Shengjie raising a wrench threateningly. This frightened her, and she broke into a cold sweat. Fortunately, Yuan Shengjie managed to keep his composure, and he only damaged a nearby barricade. Tu Wennuo was unharmed, and the Tu family had no reason to involve the police.
Yuan Shengjie decided to reassign his team. Wei Xiaochen believed that part of the reason was his inability to face her after their intimate encounter. She made it clear that she wouldn't hold him responsible and proposed a plan to obtain Tu Wennuo's DNA to confirm whether Liang Xi's heart was in his body or not.
