Yuan Shengjie arranged to meet Wei Xiaochen in a cafe with information about the professor. Wei Xiaochen went to the cafe with joy in her heart, but was surprised to find the nightclub manager there. She understood that Yuan Shengjie already knew about her past work in the nightclub. Wei Xiaochen explained that she had worked there to pay for her father's medical bills. Yuan Shengjie, though understanding, found it difficult to accept, and his emotions were affected.
Feifei caused a scene in a model store and ended up buying two models. He memorized the order numbers and noticed a car outside. He matched one order number to a car with a matching license plate and immediately informed Wei Xiaochen while providing another license plate number. Yuan Shengjie suspected a connection between Yang Junxiong and two recent homicides and wanted to investigate Yang Junxiong. However, he knew this would upset his superiors. When he received a message from Wei Xiaochen, he went to inspect a warehouse where goods were being unloaded, and his every move was being watched by someone.
Margaret had already surmised that Wei Xiaochen had discovered their new money laundering method through Feifei's model purchase. She discussed how to handle the situation with Yang Junxiong and Tu Wennuo. Yang Junxiong suggested killing Wei Xiaochen and Yuan Shengjie, but Tu Wennuo didn't agree, indicating that he didn't want Wei Xiaochen to come to harm. Margaret didn't care about the grudges between Yang Junxiong and Tu Wennuo and made it clear that she would be responsible for killing Yuan Shengjie, while Wei Xiaochen was to be handled by Yang Junxiong. As Wei Xiaochen left work, she felt someone was watching her. Just as she was considering her options, Tu Wennuo's people brought her back and invited her to a lengthy dinner. Carter had been waiting downstairs, making Wei Xiaochen impatient. By this time, Wei Xiaochen had received a video showing Yuan Shengjie being hung up. She rushed to find Yuan Shengjie. Tu Wennuo had kept Wei Xiaochen with him for a long time and was now unable to stop her. He hoped Wei Xiaochen would stay safe.
Yuan Shengjie followed Margaret into an abandoned factory, and he had already been observed, so when he pushed the door open, several guns were immediately pointed at him, overpowering him quickly. In order to attract Wei Xiaochen, Carter suspended Yuan Shengjie and stood guard by the rope. When Wei Xiaochen arrived, Yuan Shengjie was in a critical condition. She and Ah Xi arrived in time to save Yuan Shengjie and Wei Xiaochen from being killed.
The doctor advised Yuan Shengjie to rest in the hospital for a day, but he was worried about the case and Wei Xiaochen. He didn't want to waste medical resources, so he quickly changed and went to find Wei Xiaochen. When he learned that Wei Xiaochen wanted to leave the hospital, he advised her to stay and rest in the hospital for a few days. Tu Wennuo and Yang Junxiong were summoned by Margaret. She conveyed Mrs. Jin's orders, instructing Tu Wennuo to handle the business in Country Y. This made Yang Junxiong, who had been responsible for that line, very unhappy, as he believed Mrs. Jin's decision was unfair. Margaret explained that doing business through smuggling cement in Country Y was now too risky, and if Tu Wennuo couldn't handle it properly, there would be trouble, as the people involved were not to be trifled with. Tu Wennuo also realized the gravity of the situation. Although he hadn't figured out a solution yet, he remembered to send Wei Xiaochen a bouquet of flowers. When Wei Xiaochen was intentionally kept at the company for dinner by Tu Wennuo, Ah Xi told her that someone had anonymously reported a case, leading to a large police presence. Wei Xiaochen had a hunch that Tu Wennuo was involved in this.
After the incident at the model store, an employee named Mo Mo went to the police station to confess her knowledge of the situation. After the police investigation, it was found that Mo Mo had no knowledge of the money laundering activities, so she was released. In fact, Wei Xiaochen and Yuan Shengjie had been tracking Mo Mo all along. Mo Mo deliberately scratched and threw her phone card into the drain. Wei Xiaochen quickly retrieved it and handed it to Feifei for recovery, hoping to find useful clues. Mo Mo intentionally left her phone card behind. After Feifei recovered the data and provided Wei Xiaochen with the location, Wei Xiaochen and Yuan Shengjie went to the warehouse. They fell into Margaret's trap, as the building was locked from all sides, and a fire was set inside. Wei Xiaochen and Yuan Shengjie protected each other and managed to escape. Margaret was furious when she found out and immediately executed Mo Mo, cutting off the lead once again.
