Qiu Jianing's mother asked her to accompany Qiu Jiaxin on a blind date, a conversation Zhou Xiaoshan overheard, leading him to mistakenly believe Qiu Jianing was going on a blind date herself, which caused him significant worry. Meanwhile, Qiu Jiaxin prepared to leave Qin Bin's office. Qin Bin, upset, expressed that he felt inadequate as a master if she was leaving after only a year.
He tried to convince her to stay, reminding her of his strictness and the times he made her buy breakfast, but emphasized that he always wanted the best for her. As his first student, he envisioned her becoming a greater doctor than him and truly wished she would remain his apprentice. Qiu Jiaxin, in tears, thanked him for all she had learned over the past year but remained firm in her decision to leave.
Qin Bin, resigned, helped her pack her belongings and moved them to the office across the hall, declaring that from today, they were no longer master and apprentice, but colleagues. Upon arriving at her new office, Qiu Jiaxin was greeted by Director Qian, who immediately hinted that he was thirsty. Director Qian explicitly informed her about his esophagitis and his constant need for water, instructing her to refill his cup as soon as it was empty.
Qiu Jiaxin initially didn't react, then weakly questioned if her entire day would be spent watching his cup, but ultimately complied with his demanding instructions. After a day of being tormented by Director Qian, Qiu Jiaxin returned home exhausted. She complained to Qiu Jianing about Director Qian's annoying behavior, contrasting it with Qin Bin's more relaxed demeanor. She then pleaded with Qiu Jianing to help her scare away her upcoming blind date, to which Qiu Jianing agreed.
The next day, Qiu Jiaxin put on heavy, exaggerated makeup, stating her intention to fully display her "lowbrow interests." As she went to emphasize her makeup, Jiang Xiaoye arrived. Qiu Jianing was surprised to realize he was Qiu Jiaxin's blind date. Jiang Xiaoye, recognizing Qiu Jianing from a previous encounter, commented that Qiu Jiaxin had looked quite pretty without makeup. Qiu Jiaxin, in an over-the-top manner, claimed she was never normal and had a "sick aesthetic."
Jiang Xiaoye then introduced himself as a professional LPL gamer. Qiu Jiaxin, thrilled, asked if he knew the famous gamer "A'Ye." Jiang Xiaoye responded with a smile that A'Ye was sitting right in front of her, confirming he was indeed the celebrated gamer. Overjoyed and in disbelief, Qiu Jiaxin asked her sister to pinch her to make sure she wasn't dreaming. Noticing their excitement, Qiu Jianing tactfully excused herself and left the two to chat.
Overwhelmed, Qiu Jiaxin rushed to the restroom to remove her striking makeup, asking Jiang Xiaoye to "erase that memory." She reappeared barefaced and then formally introduced herself. Jiang Xiaoye, admitting he was "not used to" her sudden change, encouraged her to be herself, which helped Qiu Jiaxin relax. They continued talking, and Jiang Xiaoye agreed to teach her how to play games, even joking about his high hourly rate as a trainer before promising to carry her in the game.
They happily exchanged WeChat IDs. Later, on a rooftop, Zhou Xiaoshan approached Qiu Jianing, asking about her "blind date" and expressing his concern that she might be living a life she didn't want because of him. Qiu Jianing clarified that she had only accompanied Qiu Jiaxin. She then firmly told him that their relationship was impossible.
She recalled a time in her life when she was at her lowest, burdened by Professor Wang's illness and a denied application, and Zhou Xiaoshan had pushed her down even further. She asserted that he wasn't by her side during her darkest moments, and now, she no longer needed him. She acknowledged that there was no right or wrong in relationships, but since they had missed their chance, there was no turning back.
Qiu Jianing then turned and walked away, leaving Zhou Xiaoshan in evident pain. Zhou Xiaoshan later sought out Xu Qianya, explaining that he needed her help for Qiu Jianing's happiness. Xu Qianya, after some initial hesitation, admitted she didn't know how to help. She explained that Qiu Jianing was a very stubborn girl who had once met someone incredibly special in her youth, someone so "iridescent" that all others paled in comparison.
Xu Qianya recounted how years ago, when Qiu Jianing was searching for her missing mother and contemplating suicide, she met a stranger who told her, "If you're not even afraid of death, then you shouldn't be afraid of living." Xu Qianya stressed that this man held a special place in Qiu Jianing's heart, preventing her from developing feelings for anyone else, including Qin Bin.
She concluded that while Qiu Jianing's feelings for Zhou Xiaoshan were once sincere, he had failed to cherish them. At this, Zhou Xiaoshan, smiling, finished the stranger's quote, revealing that he was that man. He added that he had left something with Qiu Jianing that day, a detail that further surprised Xu Qianya.
Meanwhile, an investigation led by Yuan Wenzhao revealed that Su Qian, a former core researcher at Original Plan, was forced out by Qiu Jianing during an internal conflict, almost destroying Su Qian's reputation. It was also noted that Zhou Xiaoshan had betrayed Zha Zhicai for Qiu Jianing. Yuan Wenzhao subsequently met with Su Qian, introducing himself as being from Tiancheng Foundation.
He offered to invest in Original Plan and help Su Qian return to her former position, reclaiming everything she had lost, which Su Qian ultimately accepted. Back at the hospital, while Qiu Jiaxin was on rounds with Director Qian, Jiang Xiaoye arrived to visit his ailing grandmother, who was a patient of Director Qian's team. When Jiang Xiaoye saw Qiu Jiaxin, he pulled her away, suggesting they go for lunch as he hadn't eaten.
Qin Bin, witnessing this, angrily intervened, questioning Jiang Xiaoye's actions. Jiang Xiaoye boldly declared Qiu Jiaxin was his girlfriend. Qiu Jiaxin quickly clarified to Qin Bin that Jiang Xiaoye was her blind date partner. Before Qin Bin could react further, a colleague called him away to an urgent meeting. Separately, Qiu Jianing received a call informing her that Xu Qianya was waiting in the lobby with something extremely important to tell her.
Director Qian, having noticed Qiu Jiaxin's interaction with Jiang Xiaoye, later advised her to be careful about maintaining professional boundaries with patients' families. When Qiu Jianing met Xu Qianya, Xu Qianya immediately brought up the man Qiu Jianing had met years ago. She revealed that the man was Zhou Xiaoshan, insisting Zhou Xiaoshan himself had told her this and that he had left something with Qiu Jianing when they parted ways.
Qiu Jianing initially dismissed it, thinking Xu Qianya was trying to force her and Zhou Xiaoshan back together. However, when Xu Qianya pressed her about the item Zhou Xiaoshan left, Qiu Jianing confirmed it, making Xu Qianya realize Zhou Xiaoshan wasn't lying. Qiu Jianing, overwhelmed, asked to be left alone as she grappled with the revelation, recalling Zhou Xiaoshan's words that had once given her strength.
Later, while having lunch with Jiang Xiaoye, Qiu Jiaxin made an effort to appear demure, claiming she usually didn't eat much despite being hungry. Jiang Xiaoye, however, encouraged her to eat more, commenting on her being too skinny. After their meal, they went to an internet café and played games all day, with Jiang Xiaoye "carrying" her to victories. As they were about to part ways, Jiang Xiaoye stopped Qiu Jiaxin, telling her she had food stuck in her teeth.
When she turned to check, he produced a pudding he had packed from the restaurant, saying he noticed she wanted it earlier but didn't eat it because she claimed to be full. Qiu Jiaxin was deeply touched by his thoughtfulness. Returning home, Qiu Jiaxin gushed to Qiu Jianing about her newfound "sweet" romance, excitedly recounting her idol's considerate gestures. However, Qiu Jianing remained lost in thought and rather dejected.
Concerned by her sister's mood, Qiu Jiaxin wondered how to help Qiu Jianing and Zhou Xiaoshan reconcile. Jiang Xiaoye, overhearing, offered his assistance. Meanwhile, Qin Bin confronted Qiu Jiaxin about her relationship with Jiang Xiaoye, whose grandmother was Director Qian's patient. He angrily warned her about maintaining appropriate boundaries with patients' families, suggesting their public outings could be misinterpreted as her trying to "cotton up" to a wealthy family.
Qiu Jiaxin defiantly declared that she was openly in a relationship with Jiang Xiaoye and was not afraid of gossip. She retorted that it was a mere coincidence that their families had crossed paths, and the hospital did not prohibit doctors from dating patients' relatives. She even threw his own flirty tendencies back at him. Growing increasingly frustrated, Qin Bin stormed off. Zhao Yan, witnessing Qin Bin's outburst, teased him, remarking that he looked exactly like an angry father who had just discovered his daughter was dating someone.
