Jin Mi and Qiong Huo received a letter from their Auntie, which instructed them to uphold their family's long-standing loyalty to King Yi. The letter urged them to remain steadfast in their duty, aligning their fate with the King’s, and to prioritize assisting him in saving the people. It revealed the tragic news that the entire Saint Girl clan, numbering a hundred, had been annihilated by Duke Nanping.

Overwhelmed by grief, Jin Mi and Qiong Huo embraced, weeping for their lost family. Jin Mi then sought out Duke Nanping, feigning cooperation. She explained that to ensure the poison would precisely take effect on the tenth day, she required a detailed record of King Yi’s medicated diet and food intake from the past year. Duke Nanping readily agreed, ordering the Food Supervisor to prepare the requested list, while internally questioning Jin Mi's true allegiances.

On her way back to the palace, Jin Mi was intercepted by Sui He. Sui He attempted to gift her a set of rare Sibin Stone Needles, but Jin Mi politely declined, adhering to the principle of "no gains without pains." Sensing a test, Jin Mi remained cautious. Sui He then revealed her knowledge of Jin Mi’s true role as Duke Nanping’s agent, planted to assassinate King Yi, and threatened severe retribution should Jin Mi succeed.

Jin Mi, realizing Sui He's genuine love and concern for King Yi, cleverly sidestepped the conversation, making a philosophical remark about different scales of treachery before attempting to leave. As she prepared to depart, a venomous Green Willow Leaf snake crawled onto Sui He's foot. Panicked, Sui He screamed, but Jin Mi quickly calmed her and sprinkled realgar powder to repel the snake.

Jin Mi, seeing the snake as a perfect ingredient for medicinal wine, asked Sui He if she could have it, which Sui He reluctantly permitted. Chasing after the snake, Jin Mi stumbled upon Yan You. Noticing his unsteady gait and the smell of realgar, she suspected he might have been poisoned. However, a quick pulse check revealed he was perfectly healthy. Jin Mi and Yan You later shared drinks at a tavern.

Jin Mi asked Yan You, who she knew as Puchi Jun, to tell her fortune. He dismissed fortune-telling as mostly false and inquired about her current worries. Jin Mi confided her dilemma, asking what one should do when forced to act against their will. Yan You, identifying with her struggle, advised her to assert control over her own destiny, though Jin Mi remained troubled, acknowledging the painful choice between compliance and defiance.

Meanwhile, King Yi continued his charade of severe illness before Minister Fu. Minister Fu, concerned about the King’s health and lack of heirs, proposed that he take more consorts for good fortune and to secure the royal lineage. When King Yi rejected the idea, Minister Fu presented an alternate proposal signed by other officials: selecting a crown prince from the royal family to stabilize the state.

King Yi saw through Minister Fu’s elaborate plan, recognizing that the core intention was to secure a successor, not genuine concern for his marriage. Later, King Yi visited Jin Mi’s chamber to discuss their deceptive scheme. He noted that their pretense of his serious illness had stirred up significant trouble, but acknowledged its effectiveness in making Duke Nanping complacent. He playfully reminded Jin Mi that Duke Nanping intended her to be his poison, but she had become his antidote.

He then brought up Minister Fu’s insistence on marriage and candidly admitted his lack of interest in the women proposed. He then asked Jin Mi if she had ever considered a different life, perhaps as his queen. Shocked by his proposal, Jin Mi, constrained by her family’s rules, humbly declined, stating her lack of knowledge beyond medicine. King Yi, feeling she deemed him unworthy of trust, left disheartened.

Qiong Huo, who overheard part of their conversation, asked Jin Mi if she was in love with King Yi, to which Jin Mi denied, reminding Qiong Huo of their family regulations. Jin Mi used the Illusion Dragon Charm to summon Run Yu. She presented him with the medicinal wine she had brewed, which delighted him. Run Yu then conjured epiphyllum for them to admire, filling the courtyard with its beauty and fragrance.

Jin Mi, enchanted, inquired about the Heavenly Palace, which Run Yu described as a lonely place, brightened only by a few epiphyllum, a deer, and a small immortal attendant. She mentioned seeing him in her dreams accompanied by a rainbow bridge, which Run Yu explained was a place he visited when he missed someone. He expressed his pleasure at finally sharing the epiphyllum with her. As they spoke, Qi Yuan, observing from afar, aimed his Spirit-Vanishing Arrow at Jin Mi.

However, Xu Feng’s sudden appearance forced Qi Yuan to retreat. Xu Feng confronted Run Yu, demanding his identity. Run Yu, directly addressing Xu Feng by his personal name, provoked Lord Liaoyuan, who immediately reprimanded him. Run Yu, unfazed, paralyzed Lord Liaoyuan and attempted to lead Jin Mi away. Xu Feng, however, blocked their path, challenging Run Yu to a duel. As their confrontation escalated, Yan You unexpectedly arrived, interjecting with a quip about the crowded scene.

Recognizing Xu Feng as the "Fire Immortal" and Run Yu as an "immortal" while he was a "half-immortal," Yan You intervened, knocking Xu Feng unconscious with a magical strike, proclaiming he had avenged Run Yu. Run Yu, lamenting that his simple wish for a peaceful evening with Jin Mi was once again disrupted, erased everyone’s memories of the chaotic night. Jin Mi later awoke, confused about the events.

Later, Lord Liaoyuan was attacked by several masked assailants who attempted to steal the Spirit-Vanishing Arrow. Amidst the struggle, Yan You appeared, seizing the opportunity to snatch the arrow for himself. On their return journey, Yan You mentioned the Spirit-Vanishing Arrow to Run Yu. Back in the Heaven Realm, Run Yu went to Xingjing Court with Kuang Lu to research the arrow.

There, he unexpectedly discovered a painting by his father, the Heavenly Emperor, featuring a mysterious woman and the Spirit Fire Pearl. Intrigued and troubled by the discovery, Run Yu, after gathering initial information about the arrow from Kuang Lu, chose to walk alone, sending her back to Xuanji Palace. Meanwhile, Liu Ying finally caught up with Mu Ci.

She sternly warned him against using the Spirit-Vanishing Arrow to harm Xu Feng or Jin Mi, whom she considered her brother and friend. Mu Ci revealed that the Spirit-Vanishing Arrow was already lost, claiming he could not prevent any harm. Liu Ying then demanded the return of her brass strip, but Mu Ci feigned ignorance and attempted to leave. Liu Ying cleverly faked an injury, prompting a concerned Mu Ci to rush to her aid, calling her "Princess." Seizing the moment, Liu Ying removed his mask, finally revealing his identity.
