Previous summary: During the Immortal-Demon War, the Nine Heavens annihilated the demon tribe's traitors but paid a heavy price, resulting in the demise of superior deities, the loss of the four divine artifacts in the mortal realm, and Sovereign Lord Ying Yuan revealing his Asura Totem bloodline, making his identity a mystery. To seek the truth, Ying Yuan descended to the mortal realm to undergo trials, losing both memory and immortal power.
He was pursued by a mysterious person, ultimately losing all his immortal spirit, which could only be repaired by the four divine artifacts. After many twists and turns, Ying Yuan has now found the Seven Luminaries Divine Jade, Lichen, and Chou Mo, three divine artifacts. With just the last divine artifact, Ying Yuan can successfully complete his trials and return to the immortal ranks.
He has wandered through the three realms, experiencing two lifetimes, but has never been able to let go of the figure that haunts his dreams. The love was deep but fate was shallow in the past; he only wishes it wouldn't repeat. Yan Dan used her heart's blood to save Tangzhou. Liu Weiyang taught Tangzhou immortal techniques. Tangzhou absorbed the three divine artifacts into her body, and the fissure soul ailment gradually improved.
Liu Weiyang and Tangzhou became good friends who could talk about anything. Tao Ziqi would leave after she recovered from her injuries. Liu Weiyang decided to make Tao Ziqi stay. Tangzhou felt that Liu Weiyang had sacrificed too much for love. Liu Weiyang was willing; she had no desire for war, nor did she want to be a Demon King. She only wanted to spend her life with Tao Ziqi.
But Tao Ziqi dared not face this relationship due to guilt. Liu Weiyang decided to keep her at any cost. Liu Weiyang saw that Tangzhou deeply loved Yan Dan but dared not say it. Tangzhou was not his own master; he was the future sect leader of Lingxiao Sect and had to sever all ties of love and emotion. Moreover, he and Yan Dan were of different kinds—a human and a demon (or lotus spirit)—they could only be worlds apart.
Liu Weiyang felt that love could transcend any limitation, and that human life was short; once lost, it could never be found again. Liu Weiyang advised Tangzhou to bravely pursue the one she loved, or she would regret it later. Tangzhou immediately decided to go find Yan Dan and express his feelings. Tangzhou came to confront Yu Mo. Yu Mo advised him to think twice.
Even if he didn't care about the difference between humans and demons, his fellow disciples wouldn't accept Yan Dan. If Tangzhou completed his trials and returned to the Heavenly Realm, how would Yan Dan fare? Tangzhou didn't want to have any regrets and swore that no matter what his identity was, he would protect Yan Dan well. Yu Mo warned him not to hurt Yan Dan, or he would never forgive him.
Yu Mo also harbored a bit of selfishness; the reason he didn't stop Tangzhou was that he wanted to see how Yan Dan would choose and confirm if he was just a dependency in Yan Dan's heart. Yan Dan was strolling in Zhucui. Tangzhou found her shortly after. He decided not to be the sect leader of Lingxiao Sect and wanted to live for himself for once. He expressed his feelings to Yan Dan, wanting to protect her well.
Before Tangzhou could finish, Yan Dan interrupted him, wanting to know how he would treat the woman in his dreams. Tangzhou no longer wanted to think about those past events and only wanted to cherish the person in front of him. Tangzhou threw away the Memory-Waking Bead that Chaoyan had given him and picked up a meteor to give to Yan Dan. Yan Dan thought all of this was fake; she no longer believed Tangzhou.
They were impossible, and she would no longer like Tangzhou. Then she left without looking back. Tangzhou watched Yan Dan's receding figure, feeling unspeakably pained. His spell ring reacted unusually again. Tangzhou endured the piercing pain, letting the blood slowly flow from his wrist. The demon-suppressing chain in the Demon Subduing Hall of Lingxiao Sect and Tangzhou's spell ring could sense each other. Recently, the demon-suppressing chain vibrated frequently, making Qin Qi worry that Tangzhou was in danger.
Tangzhou returned disappointed after his confession failed. Yu Mo had long guessed this outcome. He personally roasted a chicken to help Tangzhou relieve his stress. Liu Weiyang also roasted one for Tao Ziqi. Yu Mo asked Liu Weiyang about the difference between puppetry and disguise techniques. She learned that puppetry is a top-tier magic art in the Demon Realm, which can not only mimic someone's appearance but also their physique and voice exactly.
This technique can only be controlled by Liu Weiyang and a few Elders. Yu Mo felt that Celestial Deity Beiming and the three Sovereign Lords died mysteriously. The Immortal-Demon War seemed like a victory for the Immortal Realm, but the Immortal Realm paid a heavy price, and the Demon Realm was also devastated. Yu Mo couldn't figure out who benefited from it. Liu Weiyang was also completely baffled.
Following Liu Weiyang's suggestion, Tangzhou changed into an Immortal Realm outfit to see Yan Dan and invited her to play a game of chess. Yan Dan couldn't help but think of the cold and heartless Ying Yuan. She flatly refused and forbade Tangzhou from wearing this outfit again, threatening to burn it every time she saw it. Tangzhou repeatedly explained that Liu Weiyang helped her choose it and that the agarwood hairpin was a testament to their fate.
Yan Dan, in a fit of pique, destroyed the agarwood hairpin on the spot. Tangzhou was heartbroken and wanted to know if Yan Dan had ever felt a trace of affection for him. Yan Dan flatly denied it. She would leave Shenxiao Palace tomorrow and asked Tangzhou to take the Bu Li Bracelet, stating that they should never meet again from then on.
Tangzhou didn't want Yan Dan to leave, but Yan Dan had made up her mind and forced him to unlock the Bu Li Bracelet. Tangzhou took the opportunity to pull Yan Dan into his arms. Yan Dan struggled desperately. Tangzhou tearfully removed the Bu Li Bracelet. Tangzhou wanted to continue being friends with Yan Dan. Yan Dan strongly opposed it and even set the Bu Li Lock to a distance of twenty steps, forbidding Tangzhou from getting close to her.
Yan Dan admitted that she had recovered her memory; Tangzhou was the Sovereign Lord of the Heavenly Realm, while she was just a small immortal attendant. Tangzhou would return to the Heavenly Realm sooner or later. Tangzhou didn't want to be a celestial being; he just wanted to stay in the mortal realm and stay with Yan Dan forever.
Yan Dan said she had been waiting for him to say those words on the small boat in the River of Oblivion, but now it was too late; Yan Dan was completely disheartened. For Tangzhou, as a mortal, to say this, and then when he became the high and mighty Sovereign Lord, everything would change. Tangzhou swore that whether he was Tangzhou or Ying Yuan, he would choose Yan Dan. Yan Dan didn't believe him at all and left resolutely.
Yu Mo saw this scene from afar, his heart filled with mixed emotions. He had wanted to stay with Yan Dan in the mortal realm for a lifetime, but he didn't expect Yan Dan and Ying Yuan to meet again and for her to recover her memory. He was ultimately one step too late. It began to rain heavily. Yan Dan was drowning her sorrows in the room with alcohol. Tangzhou guarded outside the door in the rain.
His spell ring reacted unusually again; waves of piercing pain assaulted him, but he endured them. Yu Mo came to chat with Yan Dan. Yan Dan didn't expect that she would fall in love with the same person in two lifetimes. She had now come to terms with it and no longer wanted to be bound by emotions. Yu Mo had no choice but to tell her the truth of what happened back then. Ying Yuan never hurt Yan Dan.
When Yan Dan went to the Heavenly Gallows for the second time, Ying Yuan asked Marshal Huode for the Book of Exemption to ensure Yan Dan would not suffer the agony of fire torture. Yan Dan was not angry about this matter; she held a grudge against Tangzhou for erasing their memories. Yu Mo recounted his experiences after leaving the Heavenly Realm to Yan Dan and persuaded her to return to the Heavenly Realm to see Zhi Xi.
Yan Dan guessed that Fairy Yingdeng's demotion was Zhi Xi's doing, which showed that Zhi Xi still cared about her. She didn't want to disturb Zhi Xi's peaceful life. Yu Mo wanted to be Yan Dan's follower. Yan Dan didn't want to implicate him and immediately removed the mark on his wrist. Yu Mo took out the contract Yan Dan had signed, forbidding Yan Dan from leaving him. But Yan Dan was determined to leave; they would go their separate ways tomorrow. Tonight, they would drink until they were drunk.
