Legend of Zang Hai Episode 31 Recap
> Legend of Zang Hai Recap
After Dongxia was defeated, the young Xiang Antu was sent to Great Yong as a hostage. She lived ten years under the roof of others, until she met Zang Hai and gradually fell in love with him. Now, Xiang Antu is reunited with her long-missed mother, Ming Yu Su Ti. She confides in Ming Yu Su Ti about her hardships over the years and her feelings for Zang Hai.
Ming Yu Su Ti also has a high opinion of Zang Hai, but since Zang Hai has yet to avenge his great enmity, she worries that he won't put Xiang Antu first. Zhuang Zhixing learns from Zhuang Luyin that the third culprit behind the destruction of Zang Hai’s family is the Queen of Dongxia. Zang Hai sets a death trap in an attempt to kill Ming Yu Su Ti, but Xiang Antu arrives just in time.
Ming Yu Su Ti then reveals the truth to Zang Hai: not only did she not kill his father, Kuai Duo, but she also shared a deep bond with him. Zang Hai cannot understand why Zhuang Luyin would deceive Zhuang Zhixing, and no matter how hard he thinks, he can't guess who the third enemy is. The Eighth Young Master comes to see Xiang Antu.
She confesses her inner turmoil: though the misunderstanding between Zang Hai and Ming Yu Su Ti is cleared, the two still harbor grudges too deep to be together. The Eighth Young Master can only try to console her. Xiang Antu sends a message to Zang Hai, asking him to meet her at the Pillow Tower. Zang Hai arrives on time, and Xiang Antu performs a shadow puppet play for him—a story about a little goldfish and a little swan.
The goldfish represents Zang Hai, and the swan represents Xiang Antu. Through this performance, Xiang Antu expresses her feelings. Deeply moved, Zang Hai no longer wants to let down her unwavering love. He opens his heart to Xiang Antu, and the two lovers finally come together. Xiang Antu holds tightly to Zang Hai, afraid he will leave. They pour their hearts out to each other, with endless things to say. Zang Hai promises never to leave or forsake Xiang Antu.
Overcome with emotion, she kisses him and eagerly asks what he has experienced all these years. As Zang Hai recounts his story, Xiang Antu falls asleep on him halfway through. Zang Hai feels an unprecedented happiness. Ming Yu Su Ti gives Zang Hai the blueprint of the Gui Seal and tells him its story. Many years ago, a female general found the Gui Seal.
She used it to summon the Yin Soldiers—spirits that possessed living bodies in battle, making them invincible. The general expanded her territory and founded Dongxia. She was the first Queen of Dongxia—Fuxian. Her body was eventually devoured by the power of the Gui Seal. Before dying, she sealed it deep within her tomb, warning future generations never to unseal it. Three hundred years later, Ming Yu Su Ti's mother, Queen Ming Lühuda, had the Gui Seal unearthed.
The key was the three bronze fish. Ming Lühuda used the Gui Seal to defeat Great Yong, but at a terrible cost. Before her death, she hid the Gui Seal in a place known to only five people. Kuai Duo found it, which led to the massacre of his entire family. Ming Yu Su Ti fears that the reappearance of the Gui Seal will bring irreversible disaster.
She asks Zang Hai to help find it and promises to help him locate his third enemy once it's done. Zang Hai agrees readily. After years of relentless effort, Ming Yu Su Ti created a compass. As long as the bronze fish are placed on it, the Gui Seal can be located. She asks Zang Hai to make a choice: if he chooses Xiang Antu, he must give up his revenge. Zang Hai firmly refuses.
Xiang Antu immediately expresses her full support for Zang Hai’s revenge. Ming Yu Su Ti has no choice but to yield. Zang Hai places the bronze fish on the compass and follows its needle, eventually narrowing the location to the imperial palace. Under the pretense of inspecting the construction progress of Hanzhang Hall, he continues his search using the compass. He follows it all the way to the emperor’s harem, where the compass points to Hanzhang Hall.
Blocked by the Imperial Guards at the entrance, Zang Hai is stunned. He quickly returns to consult with Gao Ming, suspecting that the emperor sent Kuai Duo to find the Gui Seal. Cao Jingxian gradually recovers from his injuries and sends Lu Ran to keep a close watch on Zang Hai. When Lu Ran informs him of Zang Hai’s investigation in the palace, Cao Jingxian bursts out laughing.
He had entered Hanzhang Hall countless times, never imagining the Gui Seal was hidden there. Ming Yu Su Ti wants to visit the place where Kuai Duo once worked, so Zang Hai takes her to tour the Imperial Astronomical Bureau. In Kuai Duo’s room, Ming Yu Su Ti recalls their time together and is overwhelmed with emotion. She reminds Zang Hai to cherish the one in front of him.
Zang Hai confirms that the Gui Seal is hidden in the Hanzhang Hall of the imperial palace. Ming Yu Su Ti fears the Great Yong Emperor will use the Gui Seal to rule the world. Zang Hai believes that his father, Kuai Duo, never gave the bronze fish to the emperor precisely because he feared such a day would come.
Zang Hai plans to use the Gui Seal to lure out the third enemy, then explain everything to the emperor after killing him. Gao Ming and his masked master both oppose Zang Hai's risky plan, but Zang Hai refuses to miss this opportunity, so they have no choice but to concede.
