You Are My Glory Episode 32 (Ending) Recap
> You Are My Glory Recap
The story begins in the early hours before the launch of the "Search for God" Solar System Boundary Explorer. Yu Tu quietly rose, kissed Jingjing while she slept, and thoughtfully turned off her alarm before heading out to the base. When Jingjing awoke later, she was playfully annoyed that her alarm had been canceled but decided to make her way to the launch site anyway.
All across the country, excitement was palpable, with many people, including tourists, flocking to Wenchang, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Long March 5 Launch Vehicle's ascent. Tour guides advised early arrival, as a key bridge to the observation area would close later that afternoon.
At the launch center, Yu Tu and his team were engaged in their final, meticulous checks for the "Search for God" probe, a mission that embodied ten years of their youth and the hopes of the nation. The atmosphere in the Command and Control Center was tense but focused. Key personnel, including the Electrical Test Conductor, the Integrated Electronics Engineer, the Payload Conductor, and the Attitude and Orbit Control Engineer, all confirmed their readiness.
Yu Tu gave the command for the pre-launch status check and the power-up sequence for the probe. All systems reported normal functionality. Yu Tu then spoke with Mr. Wang from the rocket team, who confirmed the rocket had been fueled and its performance indicators were stable, meeting all launch requirements. They agreed to a final, detailed cross-check of all parameters. Jingjing and other aerospace families arrived at the Haijiao Launch Center, expressing their excitement and nervousness.
They were ushered into the Command and Control Hall on the tenth floor, a place familiar from television broadcasts, and were reminded to maintain silence to avoid disturbing the busy staff. Among the family members, a professor shared anecdotes about past launch sites, highlighting the immense dedication and hardship endured by aerospace personnel, who often spent months away from home with limited communication.
Jingjing reflected that Yu Tu himself had been in Hainan for over half a year for this mission. However, an unexpected change in arrangements meant that the families could not remain in the Command and Control Hall for the launch. They were asked to move to an outdoor viewing area downstairs.
As Jingjing left the hall, she glanced back at Yu Tu, who was completely absorbed in his work, and was reminded of his high school dream to fly beyond the solar system. She vividly recalled telling him she believed he would become an outstanding aerospace engineer, and now, he truly had. As launch time approached, a palpable tension filled the air.
The countdown began at "T minus 30 minutes," progressing steadily through "T minus 20 minutes," "Ten more minutes," and "T minus one minute." Finally, the last ten seconds were counted down by everyone in unison: "Ten. . . Nine. . . Eight. . . Seven. . . Six. . . Five. . . Four. . . Three. . . Two. . . One! Liftoff!" The Long March 5 Launch Vehicle ignited with a spectacular blaze, ascending majestically into the sky.
Cheers erupted from the crowds, both at the site and abroad, celebrating China's aerospace achievement. Inside the control center, initial reports confirmed that Ground 177, Lidar, and telemetry signals were all tracking normally, and the rocket was flying as expected. The rocket continued its journey, and soon, its second-stage engine shut down, followed by the successful separation of the probe from the rocket. The rocket team, having completed their mission, celebrated and wished the "Search for God" team good luck.
Yu Tu, however, remained intently focused on the screens, monitoring the "Search for God" probe. His team reported the successful deployment of the nuclear reactor, followed by the antenna, and finally, the completion of the probe's attitude adjustment.
A representative from the Haijiao Launch Center then announced to the gathered leaders, experts, and colleagues that, according to the Beijing Aerospace Control Center, the Long March 5 Launch Vehicle had flown normally and the "Search for God" probe had accurately entered its predetermined orbit, with its nuclear reactor successfully deployed. He officially declared the "Search for God" launch mission a complete success, prompting another wave of enthusiastic applause.
The jubilant atmosphere continued in the control hall, even as many people began to disperse. Deputy Chief Engineer Xiao Hu was interviewed by reporters, explaining that the successful launch was just the beginning of "Search for God's" challenging expedition to the solar system boundary. He highlighted the technical breakthrough of developing a nuclear reactor to power the probe, replacing conventional solar panels for its long-distance journey.
Xiao Li, watching the interview, felt a deeper understanding and appreciation for her husband's work and forgave him. Jingjing, noting that many engineers were still inside, suggested to the remaining family members that they wait for their loved ones together. As engineers gradually emerged, families reunited, expressing their relief and happiness. Xiao Hu, still visibly tired, reunited with Xiao Li.
Jingjing, trying to ease the tension between them, playfully asked Xiao Hu about the apology letters she heard he had been drafting. Softened by the day's success, Xiao Li told him there was no need for apologies, as neither of them was at fault. They agreed to discuss things further once they were home, holding hands as they left. Finally, Yu Tu walked out of the hall.
Jingjing, expecting his call, was momentarily disappointed when he first called Guan Zai, reporting, "Up till now, I've lived up to what was entrusted to me." Shortly after, he called Jingjing. He reflected on the launch, recalling her words from long ago about him being "the rabbit that has seen the most stars." Now, he truly felt he could "go see more stars." Jingjing, who had been standing behind him the whole time, revealed herself, and they embraced warmly.
Yu Tu apologized for neglecting his family over the years due to his dedication to his work, but Jingjing assured him it was okay and expressed her pride in him and all the aerospace workers.
As they walked away to a celebration, Yu Tu reiterated that "Search for God" had only just begun its journey, with a long and challenging path ahead—a sentiment they both shared for their own future, reaching not just for dreams, but for more distant stars and galaxies.
