Five years later, both Jingjing and Yu Tu continued working hard in their respective fields. Ling Jie asked Jingjing about her schedule for the second half of the year. If she wasn’t taking any projects, they could consider having a child. Jingjing smiled and said she and Yu Tu were already planning to have a daughter. Later, Yu Tu called Jingjing.

He’d been on assignment at the base for several months and invited her to visit and watch the rocket launch. The base had recently opened visits for family members. After five attempts, Yu Tu finally got a spot and invited Jingjing to the Cape Launch Center to see him at 38. Jingjing joined the aerospace family group and arrived at the Cape Launch Center on schedule. Yu Tu greeted her at the entrance.

They took the sightseeing cable car to the base hotel. Yu Tu introduced the center, saying aside from the amazing food, this was where he would send the Soshen Hao into space. Jingjing, without hesitation, told him this would become her favorite launch site. Yu Tu took Jingjing to the family area and headed off for meetings. All the researchers were making final preparations for the Soshen Hao launch, ensuring everything was perfect.

After the meeting, Yu Tu returned to the room. Jingjing, now familiar with the base thanks to Professor Zhao and the others, was very understanding. She told Yu Tu to focus on work and said she could take care of herself—and even planned to take the other family members on a tour. Jingjing booked a guide and led all the family members on a joyful trip.

Only the hardworking aerospace workers remained behind, jokingly complaining to Yu Tu that ever since Jingjing arrived, they had no late-night snacks and had to carefully pick photos for their spouses every night. Yu Tu listened and called Jingjing, saying he had received complaints. Jingjing smiled, asked him to turn on speakerphone, and did the same. The moment the group heard their wives' voices, they had no complaints left. Yu Tu smirked and slowly ended the call.

That night, Yu Tu returned to the room. With the rocket launch only two days away, Jingjing decided not to go out anymore and stay to take care of him. As the launch approached, Yu Tu was understandably nervous. The Soshen Hao represented the dreams of tens of thousands over a decade and billions in national investment—he couldn’t afford mistakes. As they lay in bed, Jingjing mentioned that Xiao Hu’s wife, Xiao Li, seemed upset.

She’d been sick, and Xiao Hu couldn’t return. Jingjing wanted to comfort her but didn’t know what to say. Yu Tu said to let things happen naturally—if someone couldn’t endure the long wait that came with being the spouse of a space worker, they couldn’t be forced. Later that night, Jingjing woke to find Yu Tu standing alone on the balcony, gazing at the launch pad.
