You Are My Glory Episode 31 Recap
> You Are My Glory Recap
Five years after their collective wedding, Qiao Jingjing and Yu Tu continue to dedicate themselves to their respective careers. Qiao Jingjing, whose acting career has steadily flourished, is discussing her upcoming schedule with her manager, Ms. Ling. Ms. Ling asks Qiao Jingjing about her plans for the latter half of the year, suggesting that if she doesn't take on new acting projects, she and Yu Tu could consider having a child.
Qiao Jingjing smiles, revealing that they are already considering it and that he wants a daughter. Earlier, while filming a dramatic scene, Qiao Jingjing had jokingly remarked that the male lead was not as handsome as her husband, making it difficult to fully immerse herself in the role. She recounted how Yu Tu, before leaving for his long business trip, had meticulously read her script and even offered professional acting advice.
Soon after, Yu Tu calls Qiao Jingjing from the base, where he has been on a business trip for several months. During their phone call, he tells her a humorous story about two young colleagues who were "disillusioned" after seeing a female celebrity on his phone’s home screen, unaware that the celebrity was his wife. When he clarified that it was his wife, they still seemed skeptical.
He humorously asks Qiao Jingjing to help him "prove it" by visiting him at work and watching a rocket launch. He explains that the base has been organizing family visits for aerospace workers for several months, and after applying five times, he finally secured a spot for her. He warmly invites "Mrs. Yu" to the Haijiao Launch Center to see him, now 38 years old. Qiao Jingjing joins the aerospace family group chat and arrives at the Haijiao Launch Center.
Her road manager, Xiao Zhu, had expressed concern that Yu Tu might be too busy to greet her, but Yu Tu surprisingly shows up to pick her up. A young employee named Xiao Zhang recognizes Qiao Jingjing at the gate and excitedly tells her he grew up watching her dramas, much to Qiao Jingjing’s slight embarrassment and Yu Tu’s amusement. Yu Tu and Qiao Jingjing then ride a vehicle to the base hotel.
Yu Tu introduces the Haijiao Launch Center as one of China's four major launch sites and the only low-latitude one, also mentioning its excellent canteen food. He proudly states that he will be sending the "Search for God" probe into space from this very location. Qiao Jingjing immediately declares it her favorite launch center, impressing Yu Tu with her knowledge of satellite assembly and rocket fairings, which she credits to his teachings.
They share a playful moment about the abundance of security cameras. Upon arriving at the base hotel, Yu Tu hands Qiao Jingjing a room key and explains that king-sized beds are limited and he gave his room to a colleague. He suggests they can move their two single beds together later, a prospect Qiao Jingjing finds potentially embarrassing for housekeeping. They then test sitting on one bed and realize it's doable.
Yu Tu has to leave for several coordination meetings, so he entrusts Qiao Jingjing to Professor Zhao, the wife of Chief Scientist Xiao. Qiao Jingjing cheerfully greets Professor Zhao, whom she already knows from their WeChat group. While Qiao Jingjing gets acquainted with the base, Yu Tu attends a series of long meetings, even grabbing a quick bite of bread between sessions.
His colleagues playfully tease him about his celebrity wife and how he "chased" her, to which Yu Tu recites his wife's "standard answer": they were high school classmates who reconnected ten years later, both still single, so they "just made do." The meetings focus on the meticulous final preparations for the "Search for God" mission, covering power supply, internal power transfer procedures, and favorable weather conditions predicted for the launch on the 27th.
Despite the reduced hands-on work for his team, Yu Tu expresses his lingering anxiety, constantly reviewing every detail to ensure nothing is missed, aware of the nation's multi-billion dollar investment and the decade of dedication from thousands of people. Late that evening, Yu Tu returns to their room. Qiao Jingjing, who has spent the day exploring the base guided by other family members, playfully scolds him for being a "derelict" host.
Yu Tu apologizes for not being able to spend time with her, but Qiao Jingjing dismisses his guilt. She explains that she's exhausted from filming and plans to enjoy her vacation by organizing sightseeing tours for the other aerospace families, who often feel bored at the base. She enthusiastically declares herself the "tour group leader." The next day, Qiao Jingjing leads a lively sightseeing tour for the other family members, including Professor Zhao.
She reveals she had already arranged a tour guide and a travel agency, and the cost would be covered by a promotional Weibo post from her. Initially, one family member, Xiao Li, seems hesitant but is encouraged to join. Meanwhile, at dinner with his colleagues, Yu Tu hears a string of humorous "complaints."
Chief Scientist Xiao laments having to meticulously review ten almost identical photos his wife, Professor Zhao, took, and another colleague complains that his wife, inspired by Qiao Jingjing's slim figure, has started dieting, eliminating his cherished late-night stews. Yu Tu, with a sly smile, promises to relay their "feedback" to Qiao Jingjing. He then calls Qiao Jingjing, pretending to "seriously discuss" complaints about her "luring family members away."
Qiao Jingjing, incredulous, insists her efforts merely allow their husbands to work without worry. She has him put her on speakerphone, then asks her "tour group" who complained. The family members immediately defend Qiao Jingjing, praising her for organizing the fun tours that saved them from boredom. Yu Tu quietly hangs up, giving a playful "you're welcome," while his amused colleagues call the couple "mischievous." Later that night, Qiao Jingjing returns to the room, tired from the day's activities.
She tells Yu Tu that she and the group will no longer go out, as the rocket launch is just two days away, and she wants to stay at the base to offer "love and care." Yu Tu admits to feeling nervous, acknowledging the immense national investment and the collective decade of youth poured into the "Search for God." Qiao Jingjing reassures him of their success.
Yu Tu then mentions that immediately after the launch on the 27th, he will fly to the Aerospace Control Center in Beijing for several more months of work. Qiao Jingjing, having anticipated this, offers to join him there, to which Yu Tu eagerly agrees. Qiao Jingjing then brings up Xiao Li, Xiao Hu's wife, who seemed unhappy during their trip.
Yu Tu explains that Xiao Li had been hospitalized the previous month, and Xiao Hu was unable to return home due to their busiest work period. Qiao Jingjing expresses a desire to help but feels at a loss for appropriate words. Yu Tu advises her to let things take their natural course.
He reflects that being the family member of an aerospace worker is indeed challenging, and if Xiao Li feels her sacrifices are too great and she is unhappy, they should not pressure her to continue. Qiao Jingjing agrees, musing that she's fortunate to be busy herself, otherwise she might also find herself complaining about his demanding career. As the night deepens, Qiao Jingjing wakes up to find Yu Tu standing alone on the balcony, gazing intently at the distant launchpad.
