You Are My Glory Episode 3 Recap
> You Are My Glory Recap
Qiao Jingjing asked Yu Tu to be her personal coach for the game, but he declined, stating that he might stop playing at any time and suggested she find someone else. Undeterred, Jingjing proposed that he could at least guide her when they played, offering to find another coach if he stopped. Yu Tu agreed to this compromise, much to Jingjing’s delight, who felt she had successfully taken the first step towards her goal. The five friends began another game.
With her preferred Support role taken, Yu Tu advised Jingjing to play Wang Zhaojun and change her summoner spell to Flash. He explained that her upcoming unit match would likely be in Draft Pick mode, where her usual hero, Cai Wenji, might not be available, and Wang Zhaojun was suitable for beginners. Jingjing followed his instructions, even though she had never played the hero before.
Another teammate, Zhai Liang, who learned about Jingjing’s unit match, praised Yu Tu’s coaching abilities, recounting how much Yu Tu had improved his own Xi Shi play. Zhai Liang, however, humorously claimed his current skill was mostly due to his own intuition. During the game, Jingjing worried about letting her teammates down, but they ultimately secured a victory by pushing to the highland.
Afterward, Jingjing reflected on the "devious" tactics used, realizing that Yu Tu's strategies, which were even more "devious," contributed to their win. She joked that her previous losses might have been due to her "upright" approach to gaming. Feeling more accomplished playing Wang Zhaojun than Cai Wenji, she noted her kill count finally surpassed her deaths. After the game, a teammate remarked on Yu Tu, usually a "kill stealer," intentionally allowing Jingjing to secure kills.
Jingjing confirmed this with Yu Tu via QQ, who explained it was more advantageous for her to get the kills given his own strong in-game economy. Jingjing spent the next few days playing games intensively at home. Her manager, Ms. Ling, returned from a business trip to discover Jingjing had been absent from practice. Rushing to Jingjing's apartment, Ms. Ling was astonished by Jingjing's significant improvement in solo ranked games, having reached Gold 4.
Jingjing revealed she was being tutored by an "online game expert" whom she considered superior to Ms. Ling’s husband, Guo, who had previously tried to teach her. Ms. Ling grew concerned about the expert’s reliability and the possibility of Jingjing’s identity being exposed, but Jingjing reassured her that they were merely online friends and he was unaware of her true identity. Ms. Ling checked the expert’s game profile, "Jade Rabbit Pounding Elixir," and was impressed by his 93% win rate.
She remarked how much faster Jingjing would learn with in-person coaching from such a skilled individual. Ms. Ling then emphasized the need for intense training for the upcoming match, which was a month away, as she had already cleared Jingjing’s schedule. Jingjing continued to wonder why Yu Tu was online every day, seemingly spending his vacation solely on games. She reached out to her friend Pei Pei to inquire about their high-achieving classmates’ careers, eventually asking about Yu Tu.
Pei Pei informed her that Yu Tu was working at the Aerospace Research Institute in Shanghai, which surprised Jingjing, recalling his college major in finance. Jingjing then remembered a high school conversation where Yu Tu, talking with Zhai Liang, confidently declared his ambition to conquer Mars and lead humanity into space, even envisioning a moon base as a starting point.
This made Jingjing realize that Yu Tu had never abandoned his high school dream and was still pursuing it in the same city. Armed with the knowledge that Yu Tu’s aerospace institute had co-developed a "Jade Rabbit" air purifier, Jingjing devised a plan. During a group game, she feigned a broken purifier, complaining about poor after-sales service and her "parents" suffering from severe coughs at home.
Her teammates, particularly Zhai Liang, pressured Yu Tu to personally inspect the supposedly faulty device. Though initially reluctant, Yu Tu eventually agreed to visit her apartment in Pudong, believing her parents were present. Jingjing excitedly prepared for his arrival, trying on various outfits and makeup, before instructing her assistant, Xiao Zhu, to go downstairs and meet Yu Tu. Upon seeing Xiao Zhu, Yu Tu initially mistook her for Jingjing. Xiao Zhu clarified she was Jingjing’s assistant and led him upstairs.
Jingjing greeted Yu Tu outside her apartment. After a decade, they recognized each other. Jingjing immediately confessed that the air purifier was working perfectly; it was all a ruse to get him to meet her. She then suggested they go for a walk, feeling stir-crazy from being cooped up indoors. Yu Tu agreed, and Jingjing briefly went to change into warmer clothes.
As they walked outside wearing masks, Yu Tu commented that being with Jingjing felt "unsafe" due to the attention they were attracting, to which Jingjing playfully reminded him that she was the famous one. During their walk, Yu Tu expressed surprise at finding Jingjing on his QQ friends list. Jingjing, feigning forgetfulness, quickly changed the subject, directing him to her Weibo account.
There, Yu Tu discovered her post endorsing the Jade Rabbit Purifier, which had caused it to sell out rapidly due to her immense influence, even without her being paid for the promotion. She explained her intention was purely to support the motherland's aerospace industry. Yu Tu then called her "unscrupulous" for the purifier deception, prompting Jingjing to confess her true reason for seeking him out.
She revealed that a video of her poor gameplay, recorded by a WeChat friend and leaked to a marketing account months prior, had exposed her true gaming skills to the public. To redeem her image as an Honor of Kings endorser, she needed to participate in an exhibition match next month, playing alongside and against professional players.
Jingjing pleaded with Yu Tu to coach her in person, stressing her unconditional trust in him as a classmate and noting his current vacation. Despite Yu Tu’s initial hesitation about his ability to coach, Jingjing insisted she would not seek help from anyone else. Yu Tu, recalling a similar request from her in high school when she wanted him to teach her math, eventually agreed.
He then questioned her earlier lie about her parents being home, to which she admitted they were in their hometown. Excited that Yu Tu had agreed to coach her, Jingjing suggested they stop walking and return to her apartment to start practicing immediately. Yu Tu, observing the tight schedule before her match on the tenth of next month, quickly entered a systematic coaching mode.
He explained that while he needed time to thoroughly study the game to develop a precise teaching plan, they could begin by reviewing the numerous mistakes she had made in their recent games. Jingjing was amused by his swift transition into "scholar teaching mode." Yu Tu admitted he had "more than ten" errors for her to review.
