Ling Jie and Xiao Zhu helped Qiao Jingjing organize her clothes, and she treated them to a big meal and gave Xiao Zhu a two-month vacation. Ling Jie worried that Qiao Jingjing might be overly lovestruck, but Qiao Jingjing was clear about what she wanted. She didn’t want to chase after fleeting fame but hoped to become someone of true value, focusing more energy on quality work.

Ling Jie didn’t push her and was comforted to see her growth, promising to help her find better projects. That night, Qiao Jingjing and Yu Tu visited Old Guan’s house for dinner. Over the past two years, Qiao Jingjing had grown close to Shen Jing, and the two happily cooked a meal together. But Yu Tu seemed preoccupied during dinner. Even Shen Jing noticed.

She worried he wouldn’t accept the news, but Old Guan believed Yu Tu would eventually come around. On the way home, Yu Tu reflected on Old Guan’s decision: because of his health and the project’s progress, Old Guan had decided to step down from the “Soshen” project—despite the fact that he had even named it. Yu Tu couldn’t understand it. Qiao Jingjing noticed his mood and comforted him.

Though they would no longer work on the same model, they were still moving forward for the same goal—just like the two of them, walking side by side in different fields. Ling Jie officially approved Qiao Jingjing’s two-month leave. Qiao Jingjing suddenly worried that spending every day with Yu Tu might reveal incompatibilities. Yu Tu tightly hugged her. They continued to spend their days and nights gaming together.

Later, Yu Tu planned a dinner for his colleagues—partly to welcome Guan Zai back, and also to introduce Qiao Jingjing to everyone. On the weekend, Da Meng—being the only single one in the group—arrived first. He wanted to save money by eating in the main hall, but Yu Tu insisted on a private room, since Qiao Jingjing’s identity needed discretion. Everyone else showed up in couples, leaving Da Meng complaining alone until Yu Tu arrived with Qiao Jingjing.

Da Meng was dumbfounded and even got a bad photo taken by Guan Zai. As he begged Guan Zai to delete it, he accused Yu Tu of being in the "secret service" for keeping this secret. Since Yu Tu and Qiao Jingjing were high school classmates, he even suspected they'd been together for over a decade.

Qiao Jingjing laughed at Da Meng’s message and wondered what it would’ve been like if they had been together that long—but felt their later reconnection was also beautiful. After being apart for half a year, they cherished every moment together like a married couple.
