Yu Tu invited Qiao Jingjing to play with his friends. The five-person team switched to voice chat. As soon as Qiao Jingjing spoke, two of the players were surprised—Yu Tu, who usually had no connection to girls, had actually brought a girl into the game. Yu Tu simply said he didn’t know she was a girl. Qiao Jingjing was secretly relieved that Yu Tu hadn’t recognized her voice.

After the match, Yu Tu’s teammate Di Liang finally realized how much of a newbie Qiao Jingjing was and told her to just follow Yu Tu. While she didn’t contribute much as a support, she happily managed to score two kills by following Yu Tu around. Balancing filming with intense game practice, Qiao Jingjing spared no expense.

She bought every appealing skin and generously gifted three of them to Yu Tu’s teammates—but none to Yu Tu himself, which Di Liang teased him about. That night, the five of them started another round of games. After a match, Di Liang wanted to switch to ranked mode. Qiao Jingjing felt a little upset about the skins she had gifted.

Di Liang awkwardly suggested that Yu Tu coach her one-on-one, saying he’d handle all house chores for a day if Yu Tu won two games with her. Without hesitation, Yu Tu played over a dozen matches with Qiao Jingjing, leading Di Liang to reluctantly commit to a full week of house chores. Yu Tu planned to resign from the research institute and switch to the finance industry.

When his university senior heard about this, he immediately arranged a meeting at his company, hoping Yu Tu would join after resigning. However, Yu Tu already had plans to start his own business, though he hadn’t fully made up his mind. Meanwhile, Qiao Jingjing had been watching his game account closely, waiting for him to log in.

Her best friend Pei Pei called and told her what had happened in their high school class group—someone had once again spread rumors about her and Yu Tu. Yu Tu himself stepped in to clarify, shutting down the rumors with authority. Reading his message, Qiao Jingjing felt a warm happiness she couldn’t quite explain. Elsewhere in Shanghai, Yu Tu’s friend Di Liang moved into Yu Tu’s place. He couldn’t understand Yu Tu’s decision.

Yu Tu had always been capable yet remained in the aerospace institute. With the pressure of a mortgage in Shanghai, and having even broken up with Xia Qing for his aerospace dream, Di Liang believed Yu Tu might come to regret it. Seeing Yu Tu constantly brooding, he suggested that Yu Tu take a break in Beijing and reconsider whether staying in the institute was really the right path, instead of coping through gaming.

After Di Liang left, Yu Tu recalled that his resignation hadn’t been approved outright. The director asked him to first take all his accumulated vacation days before making a final decision. Feeling unsettled, Yu Tu slumped on the couch, opened Honor of Kings, and saw a gift from Qiao Jingjing—a skin and an invite. He messaged her on QQ, telling her not to send him gifts. Qiao Jingjing, however, mustered her courage and asked him to be her coach. Yu Tu turned her down, saying he might stop playing the game at any time and couldn’t commit to being her coach.
