Lin Qiaosong desperately wanted to make a name for himself and achieve success, but things went against his wishes. In the end, Kang Shaojie made him a scapegoat and dismissed him for investigation. He was heartbroken and decided to leave Shanghai, this sad place. So he bought two tickets for Singapore for tomorrow morning, intending to take Song Meijuan with him. The thief was so scared he ran away in a panic. Niu Chunmiao was engaged to Wei Ruolai since childhood. She traveled thousands of miles from her hometown in Jiangxi to join Wei Ruolai in Shanghai.

Niu Chunmiao was deeply attracted by the prosperity and liveliness of Shanghai upon her arrival. She went through a lot of trouble to find the Central Bank. Wei Ruolai happened to be coming to work. Niu Chunmiao joyfully cheered and clung tightly to him, refusing to let go. Wei Ruolai quickly took Niu Chunmiao to his office. Niu Chunmiao set up a stall at the alley entrance, using a coin-guessing game to attract many neighbors to watch. Taking the opportunity, she took out the ginger slices she brought from her hometown to sell. Everyone immediately dispersed.

A-Wen lied that Niu Chunmiao was his cousin and called all the neighbors back, even tasting the ginger himself. Aunt Zhou heard the news and rushed over. She tried guessing the coin twice and failed both times. In a fit of anger, she turned to leave. A-Wen persuaded her to come back and buy the ginger slices. Seeing this, the neighbors also scrambled to buy. The large bag of ginger slices Niu Chunmiao brought quickly sold out.

She split half the money with A-Wen and even treated him to a drink. A-Wen was overjoyed and readily agreed to follow Niu Chunmiao from then on.
