Till the End of the Moon Episode 12 Recap
> Till the End of the Moon Recap
In the Prajna Illusion Dream Realm, Sang Jiu, the princess of the Mohe Clam Tribe, watched a battle unfold between immortals and demons. She observed Ming Ye, the God of War from the Shangqing Realm, fighting valiantly against demonic forces. Her admiration for him grew, and she dreamt of becoming an immortal to one day fight alongside him and protect the land.
Ming Ye, still recovering from a previous injury, was approached by Tian Huan, who expressed her desire to always be by his side as he guarded the Three Realms. However, Ming Ye remained distant, simply thanking her and then stating his need for solitude due to the heavy casualties among his celestial troops. Meanwhile, Sang Jiu secretly slipped away from the Mohe River to get a closer look at the ongoing divine-demonic war.
She was thrilled to learn the God of War's name was Ming Ye and marveled at his prowess in battle. Her anticipation for his return to the front lines was cut short when a celestial troop announced a demon raid and called for Ming Ye to be informed. The God of War swiftly arrived, ready to fight. During the intense combat, the Devil God praised Ming Ye's strength before declaring his intention to kill him with the Sky-Slashing Sword.
Ming Ye defiantly stated his name, but ultimately, he was severely wounded and fell into the Mohe River. Sang Jiu quickly found Ming Ye unconscious in the river, desperately trying to awaken him. Tian Huan arrived shortly after, confirming that the Devil God had ambushed Ming Ye. With demon pursuers closing in, Sang Jiu urged them to follow her, leading them to the Water-calming Stone in the middle of the river.
She explained that its abundant divine energy could sustain Ming Ye's last trace of life. When Tian Huan questioned how Sang Jiu could protect Ming Ye alone, Sang Jiu promised to cast a barrier to conceal their energy signatures and then bravely declared she would lure the demon army away herself. While Sang Jiu diverted the demons, Tian Huan observed Ming Ye's weakening life force, fearing for her own future if he perished.
She then discovered an Ancient Ice Crystal within the Water-calming Stone, recognizing it as an ultimate aquatic treasure from Ming Ye's birthplace, the East Sea. Believing it could save his life, Tian Huan decided to take it, rationalizing that the river spirits, being of lowly status, should be proud to offer such a treasure to the God of War. Soon after, the King of Mohe River arrived, alarmed to find that Ming Ye had absorbed the Ancient Ice Crystal.
He explained that the crystal was vital for the survival of the ten thousand water creatures in Mohe River and demanded its return. Sang Jiu, returning at that moment, pleaded with her father not to harm Ming Ye, explaining he had absorbed the crystal due to his critical injuries from the Devil God. The King, however, was skeptical, questioning the coincidence of Ming Ye falling into his river and taking their most precious treasure.
Sang Jiu then confessed to bringing Ming Ye there, explaining his near-fatal condition and the pursuing demon soldiers. She admitted to having killed some of the Devil God's men while luring them away. Enraged by her actions, her father struck her, lamenting that her carelessness had brought catastrophe upon the Mohe River and ruined the Clam Tribe's generations of peaceful reputation.
Feeling immense guilt, Sang Jiu accepted full responsibility for the loss of the Water-calming Stone's energy source and the potential harm to her people. To atone, she bravely extracted her own divine essence to replace the crystal, hoping to restore the Mohe River's tranquility. Her father and brother, Sang You, watched in horror, desperately trying to stop her.
Heartbroken by his daughter's sacrifice, which meant she could no longer cultivate for immortality, the King of Mohe River sought out the now conscious Ming Ye. He informed Ming Ye that the Ancient Ice Crystal had saved his life, accusing him of stealing the sacred river-calming treasure. Ming Ye, having been unconscious, explained he had no recollection of the event. The King then revealed Sang Jiu's sacrifice of her divine essence to protect the river.
He proposed that Ming Ye marry Sang Jiu and take her to the Shangqing Realm to protect her, insisting this was the only way he could trust Ming Ye's sincerity. Sang You later informed Sang Jiu that their father had signed a marriage contract with Ming Ye, who would come to marry her in three days.
Sang You explained that their father wanted Sang Jiu to have a future beyond the Mohe River, where her cultivation was now limited without her divine essence. Though Sang Jiu initially expressed contentment with staying in Mohe, she eventually confessed her love for Ming Ye and her desire to be close to him and experience the Shangqing Realm.
Despite his surprise and concern that Ming Ye might not reciprocate her feelings, Sang You respected her decision, reminding her that this path, whether right or wrong, was hers to walk alone. He also gave her a Reflection Pearl so she could see him and their father whenever she missed them. On the day of the wedding, Ming Ye, burdened by the forced marriage and believing he had been coerced, remained distant.
Sang You, before Sang Jiu left, sternly warned Ming Ye not to neglect or mistreat his sister, emphasizing that despite her humble origins, she was a beloved princess in their eyes, and they would seek justice if she were wronged. Ming Ye gave his word. Upon arriving at the Shangqing Realm, Sang Jiu was filled with curiosity. The next day, she encountered Ming Ye and asked why he hadn't come to their room on their wedding night.
Ming Ye candidly told her that there was no destiny between them and their marriage was not of his free will. He proposed three rules: first, she could move freely within Yuqing Palace, but they would keep to their own quarters and not interfere with each other; second, she must not use her title as his wife to bully anyone; and third, if she ever found someone else she loved, he would grant her a divorce.
Despite her profound disappointment, Sang Jiu resolved to find a way to forge a closer bond with him. From the maids Hongzhu and Lü'e, she learned that Ming Ye was often busy training his troops or fighting battles. They also told her about Tian Huan, the only daughter of the late God of War Tian Hao and the former mistress of Yuqing Palace. Due to Tian Hao's dying wish, Ming Ye held great regard for her.
Sang Jiu expressed a desire to visit Tian Huan, whom she vaguely remembered, but was told she was in seclusion. Misinterpreting the maids' information, Sang Jiu naively decided that if she practiced with weapons, she could prove her worth on the battlefield and get closer to him. After she left, the maids privately scoffed at the idea, knowing that a clam demon without divine essence could never be accepted as an immortal soldier.
