The power went out in the studio, plunging it into darkness. He Dun was visibly upset, reminded of her younger brother's past. Qian Kaiyi, noticing her distress, quickly called staff to get candles and reassured listeners that the program would continue while technicians worked on the power. He reflected on how a sudden blackout, even in a public space, could trigger panic, likening it to the daily reality of "imperfect victims."

He explained that in darkness, when sight is limited, hearing becomes heightened, and unheard voices can become a source of strength. Qian Kaiyi decided to use the opportunity to share some beautiful sounds he had collected, hoping to bring comfort to listeners in the dark. He recounted his first year at Haifeng Radio International, visiting a northern town where city noise was replaced by the low chirping of birds and the rustling of wheat fields.

He described the train's whistle and the persistent hum of cicadas, a powerful memory of summer's vitality. He wished these sounds would offer solace and relaxation to those who have suffered, emphasizing that in life, one doesn't need to explain everything to others; choosing who to confide in is a personal decision. He then looked at He Dun and, speaking into the microphone, promised to always be there for her whenever she needed him.

After the program, Qian Kaiyi took He Dun to the rooftop to relax. He Dun asked about the "interesting sounds" he had mentioned. Qian Kaiyi suddenly let out a loud shout, making He Dun laugh. He explained it was a vocal exercise and that shouting can be effective when feeling unhappy. He Dun expressed her frustration about not being able to find happiness as easily as Qian Kaiyi, even when he genuinely tried to cheer her up.

Qian Kaiyi gently asked if she was thinking of her younger brother. He Dun then confided that after her brother's death, she had been blind for six months, living in darkness and relying solely on her hearing to navigate the world. This experience made the recent blackout particularly unsettling, but also led to her excellent hearing. Qian Kaiyi shared that he releases stress through boxing, emphasizing that happiness is a choice, not a destination.

He observed that He Dun tends to internalize her emotions, leaving no room for joy. He encouraged her to try shouting to release her pent-up feelings. Following his lead, He Dun finally shouted, "I want to be happy!" Qian Kaiyi then placed headphones on her, allowing her to listen to the calming sounds of cicadas and wind blowing through wheat fields, which brought her a sense of peace. He Dun's mother visited Wen Liang's studio to apologize.

She confessed that she had been lying, and the "Junjun" she spoke of was not her younger brother, but her son, and the symptoms she described were actually her daughter, He Dun's, symptoms. Wen Liang observed that He Dun's mother's pulse indicated she was telling the truth and reassured her that she hadn't caused any harm. Wen Liang understood that He Dun's mother was trying to help her daughter discreetly.

He suggested that He Dun's mother should still encourage He Dun to see a psychologist, even if not him, he could recommend someone. He also gently probed whether He Dun's mother had considered the psychological changes she herself had undergone since her son's passing, relating her fainting spells and He Dun's PTSD and temporary blindness to the impact of grief. He Dun's mother acknowledged that she had been too overwhelmed to care for herself during that chaotic time.

At Haifeng Radio International, colleagues noticed Qing looked pale, attributing it to a late night. Qing revealed that a recording of Mr. Qi, the abuser mentioned in the "imperfect victims" post, had been exposed, where he admitted to being a serial predator. Soon after, Li Wei called the station, stating her intention to expose Qi Ming on the "Night Talk to Your Heart" program. Qian Kaiyi immediately applied for an emergency broadcast and invited He Dun to join him.

He Dun's father visited her mother, bringing health supplements and medicine. He expressed regret, wondering if he would ever have the chance to see He Dun again and apologize. He Dun's mother assured him that He Dun was doing well despite his long absence, praising her successful career and supportive friends, including a young man who did acupuncture for her legs, another who helped her at the hospital, and Lili, her roommate.

He Dun's father, touched, offered to treat them to a big meal. He Dun's mother and father went grocery shopping, and she called Lili to invite her and Ye Jiahui for dinner, mentioning she had bought pork ribs, a dish Lili enjoyed. Lili confirmed she was with Ye Jiahui, and He Dun's mother extended the invitation to him and Qian Kaiyi as well. While shopping for fruit, Ye Jiahui shielded Lili from falling snacks.

Li Wei was once again sent by her superior, Mr. Wang, to a dinner with Qi Ming at the Crystal Palace. Seeing Qi Ming harassing her colleague, Xiaoxiao, Li Wei impulsively smashed a wine bottle over his head and immediately hailed a taxi to He Dun's studio. Enraged, Qi Ming sent his men to apprehend Li Wei. While on a call with He Dun, Li Wei was suddenly seized.

He Dun, sensing trouble, rushed out to find her, instructing a colleague to call the police if anything seemed amiss. Qian Kaiyi found Li Wei first and managed to incapacitate two of Qi Ming's men, but a third used Li Wei as a hostage, forcing Qian Kaiyi to yield. Luckily, He Dun arrived in time, fending off the attackers with a stick. Qian Kaiyi quickly reacted, helping Li Wei escape as the police arrived and arrested the kidnappers.

He Dun and Qian Kaiyi fled into an alley. Embracing, they recalled their shared experiences, and Qian Kaiyi kissed He Dun, who returned his kiss. Later that night, they returned home to find He Dun's mother, Lili, and Ye Jiahui already drunk. The trio had engaged in a "Peach Garden Sworn Brotherhood," playfully calling each other brothers and sisters. Qian Kaiyi was initially nervous about how He Dun would introduce him to her mother, but their reunion was unexpectedly chaotic.

Before they could react, Lili and the others pulled them into their drunken celebration, urging them to drink and chat. Qian Kaiyi, still slightly injured from the earlier fight, quickly told He Dun to tell her mother he fell off his motorcycle. He Dun's mother, though drunk, was worried about Qian Kaiyi's face and was confused by the new "brotherhood" status of Lili and Ye Jiahui with her "niece" He Dun and "second brother" Qian Kaiyi. A news report later confirmed that the suspect in the sexual harassment case, Qi Ming, had been criminally detained by the police of the city, and the investigation was ongoing.
