Before leaving, Qiu Qiu gave Lin Zhixiao and Gu Wei each a letter, instructing them not to open it or show it to anyone else. However, after he left, Lin Zhixiao couldn’t resist opening hers. Inside was a piece of paper with a drawing of a man and a woman, with a cello placed next to the woman. Lin Zhixiao guessed that the girl was herself but couldn’t tell who the tall man was.

She mistakenly thought it was Qiu Qiu. But Gu Wei knew the truth. He pretended to open the envelope but didn’t let Lin Zhixiao see it. Alone in his office, he discovered that it was a drawing of the moment he had covered Lin Zhixiao with his coat. He couldn’t help but smile in satisfaction. As Lin Zhixiao’s forehead injury healed, it was time for the stitches to come out.

Gu Wei used the opportunity to subtly test her, saying that he and Gao Xi were just colleagues, not a couple. However, Lin Zhixiao completely missed the hint. In fact, she had already forgotten what had happened during the cake-sharing incident and didn’t understand why Gu Wei was explaining. She naively promised not to tell anyone.

Gu Wei didn’t reply but showed up the next day to check on Lin Jianguo. He listed several foods, but none seemed to excite him—until he mentioned wontons. Lin Jianguo’s eyes lit up. Realizing this, Gu Wei immediately told Lin Zhixiao to buy wontons nearby.

Shortly after he left, Dr. Du came by and casually mentioned how busy Gu Wei had been all day. Only then did Lin Zhixiao notice a local news report about a traffic accident and realized Gu Wei had spent the day in the emergency room. The fact that he still made time to visit her father deeply moved her. That evening, she sent a thank-you message. Gu Wei smiled as he read it, ready to reply.

But when a colleague bumped him as a joke, he accidentally sent “No need to thank me, I’m blind,” leaving Lin Zhixiao very confused. Lin Zhixiao was going to perform at a school music event and hoped Gu Wei would attend. Gu Wei remembered he had work and couldn’t immediately reply. On the day of the performance, Lin Zhixiao dressed carefully and went to school with her cello and Hanhan.

As the show began, Gu Wei entered the school auditorium and sat down to watch. To his surprise, Lin Zhixiao was only playing the triangle. Before the performance, the orchestra teacher had noticed that her right hand was trembling—a result of overtraining—so he reassigned her to the triangle to avoid any mishaps, dismissing all her efforts. Seeing her on stage, heartbroken, Gu Wei felt distressed.

After the show, he was about to greet her when the principal stopped him and eagerly introduced his daughter Hanhan. Gu Wei wasn’t interested. His eyes were fixed on Lin Zhixiao, who accidentally tripped and angered her teammate, leading to mockery. When the teammate demanded compensation, Gu Wei rushed over, stood up for her, and even offered to pay. The girl asked what Gu Wei’s relationship with Lin Zhixiao was.

He was momentarily speechless, but Lin Zhixiao quickly said she was his idol. Before anyone could respond, Gu Wei took her off the stage and escorted her home. Meanwhile, Gao Xi was visiting Gu Wei’s home and, in front of his family, deliberately gossiped that he had gone to see a patient’s family member perform. That night, after parting ways downstairs, Lin Zhixiao returned home happy and sweet, only to find she was still wearing Gu Wei’s jacket. As she hurriedly took it off, she found the concert ticket in the pocket.
