Knowing that Jiang Wu went to Shun’an to approach Qin Zhiyan, Li Chenlan instantly moved to Shun’an. When he saw Jiang Wu teasing Zhiyan, Li Chenlan angrily destroyed Jiang Wu's puppet clone. As Jiang Wu's puppet disappeared, he declared that he would not give up, and everything Li Chenlan possessed in the future would be his. Lu Zhaoyao saw Li Chenlan's expression from the side and realized that Li Chenlan was truly angry.

Qin Qianxian confirmed with Leader Jiang that the marks on Liu Wei's body were caused by the Magic of Manipulation. This further solidified his judgment that someone used the Magic of Manipulation to control Liu Wei and kill Qin Yu. Qin Zhiyan received a letter from Liu Cangling, stating that Qin Yu was seen at the Appraisal Heart Sect. Qin Zhiyan worried about her father's safety and planned to immediately go to the Appraisal Heart Sect.

After Lu Zhaoyao read the letter, she realized something was amiss and initially did not want to agree, but she couldn't resist Qin Zhiyan's pleas. For safety, Lu Zhaoyao decided to call upon Li Chenlan for them to go to the Appraisal Heart Sect together to investigate. Qin Zhiyan was very happy that Lu Zhaoyao agreed to accompany her. Sima Rong was busy making the scabbard, and Yuezhu, the puppet, watched with great reluctance. She showed Sima Rong a newly made doll, wanting to cheer him up. Lu Zhaoyao and Li Chenlan were bored, so they started playing a gambling game where the loser had to drink. Li Chenlan was skilled at everything else, but completely inept at gambling, losing many rounds, which greatly amused Lu Zhaoyao.

Jiang Wu was so preoccupied with Lu Zhaoyao that he couldn't eat or sleep. When he learned that Lu Zhaoyao was in Jinzhou City, he immediately decided to go find her. During the day, Lu Zhaoyao regained her invisible state. She decided to use this opportunity to investigate the Appraisal Heart Sect, since no one could see her anyway. Li Chenlan used a spell to open his celestial eye, allowing him to see Lu Zhaoyao's true form during the day.

Lu Zhaoyao wandered around the streets, with Li Chenlan secretly following her the whole time. Watching Lu Zhaoyao lively and jumping around, looking everywhere, Li Chenlan felt very warm. That feeling of recovering something lost returned again. Lu Zhaoyao went to the Appraisal Heart Sect and unexpectedly discovered Lady Changyu Liu Suruo. She immediately sensed something was wrong. Liu Suruo sensed someone behind her, but she couldn't see Lu Zhaoyao at all. After Liu Suruo left, Li Chenlan secretly appeared. Lu Zhaoyao was startled to see Li Chenlan, thinking he had followed her, but then thought it impossible.
