Lu Zhaoyao practiced with her grandfather, who noted her resemblance to her mother's impulsiveness, ultimately deciding to allow her to explore the world outside Sealed Evil Mountain, a place devoid of life. Lu Zhaoyao expressed her longing for the outside world and dreamed of doing good deeds to benefit others.
Meanwhile, Lady Changyu, Steward Chi, and Qin Qianxian from Dust Pavilion arrived at Sealed Evil Mountain, seeking the entrance to the seal where Lady Changyu had separated from Luo Mingxuan, the Gold Deity. Luo Mingxuan suddenly appeared, revealing that he had entered the seal and encountered the Demon King's son, but was injured, allowing the son to escape.
He described the son as a teenager with a blue mark on his face and emphasized the necessity of eliminating him to prevent future harm. Luo Mingxuan instructed Steward Chi to investigate. Lady Changyu assisted the injured Luo Mingxuan back to Mount Feng to recuperate, and Luo Mingxuan emphasized the urgency of killing the Demon King's son, fearing his cunning nature, and ordered Lady Changyu to gather the Immortal Sects for the execution.
Lady Changyu was concerned about Luo Mingxuan's impatience, wondering if something had happened to him at Sealed Evil Mountain. Back at Sealed Evil Mountain, Lu Zhaoyao succeeded in opening the barrier seal through diligent training, marveling at the world beyond. She bid farewell to her grandfather, promising to return with a new crutch. Elsewhere, Steward Chi reported to Lady Changyu that their disciples had captured a teenager suspected of being the Demon King's son.
The teenager, bearing the blue mark, was presented before the Thousand-mile Mirror, confirming his identity to Luo Mingxuan. Despite being injured and close to a cultivation breakthrough, Luo Mingxuan ordered the gathered sects to execute the Demon King's son immediately, emphasizing Steward Chi's responsibility. In a bustling marketplace, Lu Zhaoyao overheard people discussing the impending execution of the Demon King's son at Sealed Evil Mountain.
An experienced wanderer advised her to avoid involvement, warning that the Sects were determined to kill him and might mistake her intervention as an attempt to rescue him, leading to severe repercussions. Unfazed, Lu Zhaoyao declared her intention to do good and intervene. Meanwhile, Qin Qianxian expressed his distress to his master, Deity Zidan, regarding the decision to execute the Demon King's son, arguing that one who has not committed evil should not be judged as evil.
Deity Zidan acknowledged Qin Qianxian's compassion but cautioned him against being swayed by illusions. He feared that an encounter with Lu Zhaoyao could hinder Qin Qianxian's cultivation, as he was the most promising candidate for ascension after the Gold Deity. He advised Qin Qianxian not to go to the execution, but to meditate in his room. At the execution site, amidst chanting crowds, the bound Demon King's son awaited his fate.
Lu Zhaoyao, witnessing the injustice, loudly condemned the Sects for ganging up on the teenager. When questioned, she declared she belonged to no sect but dared to oppose them. A protector stepped forward, offering to let her take the boy if she could defeat him. Lu Zhaoyao introduced herself as Lu Qiong, known as Zhaoyao, and promised the world would remember her name. She challenged the protector, but many masters attacked her simultaneously.
Despite being outnumbered and injured, she stood her ground, enduring multiple blows. Eventually, after defeating Steward Chi, Leader Liu, a reasonable figure among the Sects, acknowledged her victory and permitted her and the Demon King's son to leave, warning they would be hunted by the Immortal Sects. Lu Zhaoyao remained defiant. She helped the injured Demon King's son walk away, mentioning that he was the first person she had ever saved.
Later, Lu Zhaoyao and the Demon King's son returned to the marketplace. The boy, accustomed to being bullied, intimidated beggars with his gaze to get sugar-coated haws. He offered the treat to Lu Zhaoyao, who recovered quickly from her injuries. Seeing his scarred face and assuming he had no name, Lu Zhaoyao affectionately named him Mo Qing, after the blue marks on his body. One night, while Lu Zhaoyao was drunkenly asleep, she muttered Luo Mingxuan's name.
Mo Qing, insecure about his appearance, recalled his father sealing him in Sealed Evil Mountain with a promise to return. Lu Zhaoyao, half-awake, complimented his eyes, comparing them to stars, which cheered Mo Qing. News of Lu Zhaoyao’s challenge spread quickly throughout the jianghu, making her famous. Her grandfather heard the rumors and was conflicted. Lu Zhaoyao discussed her ambition to establish their own sect.
Separately, Lady Changyu inquired about Lu Zhaoyao, expressing a desire to eliminate her, but Luo Mingxuan refused, believing he could extract Mo Qing's location from her. Growing restless, Lu Zhaoyao decided to seek out Luo Mingxuan, intending to tell him about her rescue and her plans to build a sect. Mo Qing was saddened to hear Lu Zhaoyao frequently mentioning Luo Mingxuan. Determined, Lu Zhaoyao departed without informing Mo Qing, fearing he would be hunted.
Upon waking and finding her gone, Mo Qing followed, but she urged him to stay hidden, promising to achieve great things. Mo Qing watched her leave, feeling abandoned. Lu Zhaoyao journeyed on, found Luo Mingxuan’s residence, and called for him, unaware of the dangers ahead.
