Qingxue tried to approach Lingyue about the thief in the sword pavilion, but he interrupted her, promising to talk later, and then left with Granny. Lingyue then instructed Tusu to remain in the back mountain, away from Youdu people, as per Reverend Ziyin's previous orders. Tusu inquired about Youdu, but Lingyue offered no further details, simply telling him to obey.

Qingxue informed Lingyue that the masked man had scattered Mandragora pollen, and Lingyue analyzed that Mandragora grows in Southern Xinjiang, suggesting the masked man might be from there. Lingyue asked how she knew, and Fu Qu quickly interjected that Shaogong might have told her, which Lingyue accepted. Qingxue visited Granny, who demanded a full confession about her entry into Tianyong City.

Qingxue admitted her suspicion that the Sword of Burning Solitude was in the sword pavilion and that the thief resembled her brother. Granny, finding it impossible that the thief was Feng Guangmo, suspected the thief was linked to the group who destroyed Wu Meng Valley, growing concerned about the situation's complexity. Lingyue reported to Hong Yu on the security measures and the search for the masked man. Hong Yu speculated the masked man might return, having failed previously.

Lingyue questioned why Shaogong was allowed to descend after refining pills. Hong Yu revealed that changes in the Sword of Burning Solitude made her suspect Shaogong's intentions toward Tusu. Both had previously doubted Shaogong but were disarmed by his sincerity. Now, Lingyue began to suspect Qingxue again, and a spiritual butterfly flying by intensified Lingyue and Hong Yu's doubts. While waiting for the spiritual butterfly's report on the Sword of Burning Solitude, Qingxue secretly ventured to the sword pavilion.

Lingyue, intercepting her, accidentally broke her bracelet. Qingxue quickly lied, claiming she released the butterfly to track the thief. To apologize, Lingyue offered to repair the bracelet and gently warned her to stay away from the sword pavilion. Qingxue, in turn, offered to help him catch the thief, but Lingyue refused due to the danger. Shaogong delivered a meal to Tusu, who inquired about the Youdu Granny and his own past.

Tusu wondered if Reverend Ziyin's command to avoid Youdu people was connected to his origins. Shaogong advised patience and promised to seek answers. Lingyue meticulously repaired Qingxue's bracelet. Fu Qu approached, noticing Lingyue's clumsy needlework and offering to help. She then mentioned Qingxue's persistent search for someone named Yunxi, causing Lingyue to frown. Qingxue discussed the Sword of Burning Solitude with Granny, suggesting they wait for Reverend Ziyin to emerge from seclusion before visiting the sword pavilion.

Granny believed Ziyin was deliberately avoiding her and blamed Qingxue for letting "them" go. She pressed for information about Yunxi. Qingxue described the mentally incapacitated Yunxi she had met. Granny surmised that Ziyin must have sealed Yunxi's intelligence, believing it could be restored. Shaogong and Tusu, noticing Granny and Qingxue's secretive movements, decided to follow. They watched as Granny inspected the mentally incapacitated Yunxi and realized he was not the true Yunxi.

Lingyue suddenly appeared, asserting this man was Yunxi and accusing Qingxue of deception. Granny, unwilling to explain, asked Lingyue about the real Yunxi, but he dismissed them, reiterating that the man was Yunxi, and ordered them to leave. Shaogong and Tusu, having overheard the exchange, returned to their room. Shaogong admitted he had misjudged Qingxue.

Tusu, however, concluded that he himself was the Yunxi Qingxue sought, recalling that Reverend Ziyin had brought only him to Tianyong City and raised him with Lingyue. Shaogong then asked about the Sword of Burning Solitude's evil energy, and Tusu confessed to being afflicted by it. Shaogong expressed his concern, deeply touching Tusu. Believing Qingxue meant him no harm, Tusu wished to see her, but Shaogong advised caution and suggested he speak with Lingyue first.

Tusu then approached Lingyue, asking if he was Yunxi. Lingyue confirmed that Reverend Ziyin had indeed given him a new name, hoping to help him forget a painful past. Tusu then spoke of Lingyue's long-lost younger brother, expressing his own struggle with his missing memories. Lingyue advised him to wait until Reverend Ziyin emerged from seclusion to ask him directly. When Qingxue arrived, Lingyue quickly hid Tusu.

Qingxue stated she wanted to bid Tusu farewell, but Lingyue made an excuse to refuse. She explained she merely wanted to see Yunxi, but Lingyue remained tight-lipped and instead took her to Fu Qu to retrieve her repaired bracelet. Qingxue received the mended bracelet, but its spiritual stone had lost its power. Fu Qu, still upset by Qingxue's earlier deception regarding her presence in Tianyong City, spoke harshly to her.

Qingxue sincerely apologized, and Fu Qu reluctantly allowed her to leave. At that moment, a spiritual butterfly arrived, and Qingxue realized with dismay that Granny had gone to the sword pavilion. At the sword pavilion, Hong Yu confronted Granny, and their argument escalated into a fight. Granny managed to overpower Hong Yu just as the warning bell rang, signaling an intruder. Hong Yu rushed back to the sword pavilion but was repelled by a barrier.

Granny, however, charged in, finding the masked man holding the Sword of Burning Solitude. They engaged in a fierce battle. The masked man used the Sword of Burning Solitude to wound Granny. Lingyue and Hong Yu arrived, joining the fray, and Lingyue injured the masked man's hand, causing the sword to fall. Lingyue demanded the masked man remove his mask, but the intruder retreated, ultimately jumping off a cliff. Lingyue pursued to investigate. Qingxue rushed to Granny's aid.

Lingyue failed to apprehend the masked man and returned to check on Granny. Qingxue, distraught, reported Granny's critical condition and blamed herself for not protecting her. Lingyue comforted her. Fu Qu arrived with medicine, explaining that Head Reverend had sent her to care for Granny, and gently dismissed Lingyue to attend to his duties. Fu Qu remained distant and unforgiving toward Qingxue.

Lingyue informed Hong Yu that the masked man he had fought earlier was different from the one they initially encountered. Hong Yu speculated the masked man must have been hiding nearby. Lingyue stressed the urgency of finding the masked man quickly to ensure the safety of both the Sword of Burning Solitude and Tusu, suggesting they enlist Qingxue's help. Fu Qu confronted Qingxue about her true motives for coming to Tianyong City.

Qingxue explained everything, and Fu Qu, convinced, decided to trust her again. Lingyue then approached Qingxue, asking for her assistance in tracking the masked man. Fu Qu eagerly volunteered, but Lingyue insisted she stay to care for Granny, much to Fu Qu's displeasure. Qingxue released her spiritual butterflies to track the Mandragora pollen left by the masked man. Just then, Ling Duan arrived, informing Lingyue that Head Reverend required his immediate presence in Anlu Village to deal with a monster.

Lingyue departed with other disciples, leaving Qingxue to await news from her butterflies. Tusu and Shaogong volunteered to go to Anlu Village. Lingyue, after warning them to be cautious, agreed. In Anlu Village, they found no obvious signs of a monster, but inspection of the victims' bodies suggested something had consumed and then regurgitated them. Villagers recounted terrifying sightings from the previous night. Qingxue, having released her spiritual butterflies, decided to track the masked man towards Tianyong City's back mountain.

After further searching in the village, Tusu and Shaogong found no more clues. Tusu proposed they stake out the village for the night, but Shaogong advised him to return to Tianyong City to report their findings to Lingyue and warned him against staying away from the Sword of Burning Solitude for too long. Tusu admitted his desire to break free from the sword's long-standing influence.

Shaogong encouraged him, saying that accepting his fate was the first step toward resisting its control. Suddenly, cries for help erupted, and villagers scattered in terror. Tusu rushed to investigate but found nothing. He then passed through a mysterious enchantment, finding himself back in Wu Meng Valley, though he had no memory of the place. Meanwhile, the masked man was healing in a cave. Qingxue and Lingyue tracked him there.

The masked man quickly extinguished his fire and fled, with Qingxue and Lingyue in pursuit. In the illusion, Tusu saw his younger self and Mother Xiuning, hearing the child call himself Yunxi, yet Tusu didn't recognize this as his own past. The scene shifted abruptly to a water monster. Tusu turned to see Shaogong kidnapped by the masked man, who threatened to harm Shaogong unless Tusu retrieved the Sword of Burning Solitude. Shaogong urged Tusu not to surrender.

The masked man cruelly injured Shaogong, severing his arm. Witnessing this atrocity, Tusu's rage erupted, triggering a flood of memories. The mark on his forehead reappeared, and the Sword of Burning Solitude reacted violently, causing Hong Yu, still in the sword pavilion, to gasp in alarm. Lingyue, noticing Ah Xiang's unusual distress, told Qingxue to return to Granny while he investigated.

A berserk Tusu, consumed by the Sword of Burning Solitude's influence, rushed to the sword pavilion, knocked out Hong Yu, and attempted to seize the sword. Zhao Lin and other disciples, still at the village enchantment, were unsure what to do. Lingyue arrived, slicing through the enchantment with his sword, and entered, searching for Tusu and Shaogong. He encountered a phantom of the masked man and was injured by the water monster. After a struggle, Lingyue was overwhelmed.

At that critical moment, Tusu, wielding the Sword of Burning Solitude, descended from the sky, stabbing the monster. He fought fiercely, repeatedly being knocked down, but each blow only fueled his hatred. Finally, with a powerful strike, Tusu cleaved the monster in two, utterly destroying it. Still under the Sword of Burning Solitude's control, Tusu slowly advanced toward Lingyue. The masked man watched from the shadows, delighted that Tusu had finally embraced the sword's power.

As Tusu raised the sword to strike Lingyue, he momentarily regained a flicker of consciousness, struggling against the evil energy within him. However, he soon lost control again, his eyes burning with intent to kill Lingyue. Just then, Reverend Ziyin suddenly appeared, stopping Tusu. Tusu then lost consciousness. Granny took Qingxue back to their dwelling. Qingxue vowed to find a way to remove the Sword of Burning Solitude's evil energy.
