While walking, Qingxue suddenly fainted, prompting Tusu to rush her to a doctor. The doctor explained that Qingxue's spiritual power was scattered and required Tusu to perform a spirit-guiding technique. Tusu then went to Yaoshan mountain, where he encountered Qianyu. Qianyu reminded Tusu of his past connection with Taizi Changqin. Tusu explained his purpose for coming to Yaoshan, and Qianyu immediately handed over a spiritual magic treasure to him. After bidding farewell to Qianyu, Tusu promptly returned to treat Qingxue.

However, the doctor then stated that someone must serve as the spirit-guiding body for the procedure. Tusu immediately volunteered, and despite the doctor explaining the significant cost involved, Tusu insisted on being the spirit-guiding body. Following the spirit-guiding process, Tusu became extremely weak, which allowed the spirit of the Sword of Burning Solitude to take advantage of his vulnerability and control his body.

Meanwhile, Rugin attempted to prevent Lansheng from being with Xiangling, but Lansheng declared he would rather die than give up Xiangling, leaving Lingyue unsure how to proceed. Tusu intervened, reminding Lingyue that there is no fundamental difference between humans and demons; just as humans can be good or bad, so too can demons. Therefore, he argued against stopping Lansheng and Xiangling from being together. Inspired by Tusu's words, Lingyue finally understood.

He then proactively sought out Xiangling to persuade her to return to Lansheng. Xiangling's spiritual power had been exhausted after being injured by Lingyue, so Lingyue used his own cultivation to heal her. Recognizing his mistake in judging Xiangling indiscriminately and causing her injury, he apologized and hoped she would return to care for Lansheng.

When Rugin saw Xiangling reappear before Lansheng, she furiously reprimanded Lingyue, accusing him of not only failing to subdue the demon but also condoning Lansheng and Xiangling's relationship. Lingyue urged Rugin to understand that Lansheng's stubborn nature meant forcing him to choose between his sister and Xiangling could lead to losing his brother entirely.

With Lansheng and Xiangling's situation resolved, Fuqu wished for Lingyue to return to Tianyong City with her, but Lingyue insisted on staying behind for Lansheng and Tusu. Lansheng overheard Lingyue and Fuqu's conversation and inquired about Lingyue's younger brother. Lingyue, however, refused to elaborate, simply stating that his brother was already dead. Concurrently, Qingxue and Qianshang discovered a collusion between Heiyao and Qingyutan, leading Qingxue to realize that Leiyan had been continuously monitoring her and Tusu.

Lingyue, upon meeting Qianshang, had the same suspicion as Hongyu: that Qianshang was the "ghost-faced man" who had attempted to steal the Sword of Burning Solitude from the sword pavilion during his first visit to Tianyong City. Lingyue and Hongyu decided to test Qianshang, and it was confirmed that he was indeed the individual who had stolen the sword from Tianyong City years ago.

Qianshang then confessed the full story of the sword theft, revealing that Leiyan was the one who had always coveted the Sword of Burning Solitude. Tusu believed that the ghost-faced man at Wumeng Linggu must also have been dispatched by Leiyan. Tusu impulsively wanted to rush to Qingyutan to seek revenge on Leiyan, but Lingyue managed to dissuade him. Despite their suspicions towards both Shaogong and Qianshang, Shaogong's apparent affection for Tusu caused Lingyue some hesitation. With Leiyan confirmed as the mastermind behind the ghost-faced man, Lingyue ultimately decided to go to Qingyutan with Qianshang to confront Leiyan.
