Swords of Legends Episode 21 Recap
> Swords of Legends Recap
Shaogong brought Yin Qianshang to Peach Blossom Valley, where they informed their companions that Xun Fang and Tong Yi had been captured. Shaogong decided he and Yin Qianshang would go to Qingyutan to rescue them, leaving Tusu and Lansheng to care for the female companions. Yin Qianshang was initially reluctant to burden Shaogong, but with Ji Tong and Xun Fang held captive, Shaogong felt he had no choice. Lansheng wanted to join the rescue mission but was held back.
In his agitation, he unintentionally hurt Tusu with his words, causing Tusu to leave upset, much to the displeasure of Qingxue and Xiangling. Later, while Tusu was preparing for an evening camp, Qingxue invited him to see the peach trees they had planted earlier, but he refused. However, when Xiangling offered him some fruit, Tusu happily went to her, much to the jealousy of Qingxue and Lansheng.
Xiangling suggested that once Tusu's malice energy was cured, they could return to Wu Meng Valley, and Tusu agreed. Lansheng joined them, reminding Tusu that the onset of his malice energy flare-up was imminent and promising to stay with him through the ordeal. That night, Tusu gazed at the sky, recalling his earlier conversation about stars with Qingxue. Lansheng, still trying to make amends for his earlier insensitive remarks, tried to console Tusu.
Tusu, believing himself to be an inauspicious person, uncharacteristically confided in Lansheng. When Lansheng asked for dating advice, Tusu simply told him to be honest, which Lansheng didn't understand, thinking Tusu was just being cool when he left to rest. Meanwhile, Qingxue and Xiangling discussed Tusu. Xiangling tearfully pleaded with Qingxue not to take Tusu away, calling him her only remaining kin. Qingxue clarified that her only intention was to help Tusu control the Sword of Burning Solitude's malice energy.
Xiangling envied Qingxue's ability to potentially share Tusu's pain, but Qingxue was troubled by their lack of progress. Unaware of the complexities, Xiangling playfully tried to cheer Qingxue up. Tusu's increasing coldness towards Qingxue stemmed from his inability to accept her reasons for approaching him. Despite Qingxue considering Tusu the most important person in her life, Tusu no longer trusted her, leaving her unsure how to help him or what she meant to him.
At Qingyutan, Shaogong met Lei Yan, who demanded to see Yu Heng. Once he had the artifact, Lei Yan informed Shaogong that he had sent people to search for other Yu Heng fragments and instructed Shaogong to remain there until they were found, arranging for Yuan Wu to lead him to Xun Fang and Tong Yi. Shaogong found Tong Yi unconscious but noted her pulse was stable and she appeared unharmed.
He entrusted her care to Xun Fang, unaware that the woman before him was Jinnang (also known as Sujin) in disguise. Outside, Jinnang struggled to conceal her pain before taking a pill offered by Lei Yan. Lei Yan questioned her decision to consume the highly toxic disguise pill with severe side effects and endure its insect-venom erosion. Jinnang revealed her deep obsession with Shaogong and her resentment towards Tong Yi for hindering her plans, vowing to eliminate her.
Later, Jinnang attempted to administer medicine to the unconscious Tong Yi. However, Tong Yi awoke, recognized Jinnang's true face, and was blackmailed with Shaogong's safety into drinking the medicine. Tong Yi, unable to expose Jinnang's false identity, was forced to comply to ensure Shaogong's safety. Back in Peach Blossom Valley, Tusu watched the sleeping Qingxue, dwelling on his identity as an ill-fated person.
Upon waking, Qingxue heard Tusu falsely tell her to return to Youdu and no longer concern herself with his affairs, claiming he only regarded her as an ordinary friend and wished her to cease her efforts for him. Qingxue was heartbroken, but knowing Tusu rarely revealed his true feelings, she refused to leave and urged him to cherish their shared connection. Later, Xiangling found Tusu by the river.
Tusu, still believing that keeping them away was the only way to ensure their safety, intentionally angered her by reneging on his promise to return to Wu Meng Valley, hoping to drive her away. Lansheng encountered a dejected Xiangling and learned that Tusu had driven her off. He comforted her, explaining that Tusu was merely hiding his true feelings, and the more indifferent he appeared, the more he truly cared. Xiangling's spirits lifted.
To further cheer her up, Lansheng went to buy steamed buns, but unexpectedly ran into Ling Duan and his group. Ling Duan subjected Lansheng to a brutal "steamed bun punishment" to force him to reveal Tusu's whereabouts. While Tusu was watering the peach trees, Qingxue found him, and he again tried to drive her away. As Qingxue attempted to persuade him, they heard Lansheng's cries for help. Ling Duan's group arrived, holding Lansheng captive, intent on apprehending Tusu.
Ling Duan used the Sect Leader's magic artifact, injuring Tusu. Just then, Lingyue suddenly appeared and intervened, stopping Ling Duan's group. Ling Duan accused Lingyue of favoritism. Tusu, unwilling to create further difficulties for Lingyue, stepped forward to take responsibility. Lingyue knocked Tusu unconscious and took him to Tianyong City. Qingxue followed them, while Ling Duan's group retreated. Lansheng, using the Qingyu Sinan Pei (Jade Compass Pendant) and a washboard-sword, set off with Xiangling to pursue Tusu and Lingyue.
However, the Qingyu Sinan Pei overloaded and ran out of energy, causing Lansheng and Xiangling to crash into a courtyard, startling a young person. The young person helped Lansheng, discovering he had a fractured bone. Xiangling, blaming Lansheng for his ineffectiveness, asked the young person to care for him while she continued alone to pursue Tusu and Lingyue.
Lingyue brought Tusu to a place called Iron Pillar Temple to temporarily evade trouble, planning to return to Tianyong City once Tusu's malice energy subsided. Tusu wondered why Lingyue suddenly wanted to take him back. Lingyue explained that returning was the only way to prove his innocence and advised Tusu to rest, setting up a seal to ward off any potential attacks from Ling Duan's group.
Tusu was grateful for Lingyue's concern, while Lingyue, blaming himself for not having protected Tusu well earlier, expressed hope that this time he could alleviate Tusu's Sword of Burning Solitude malice energy.
