Luo Zhaoyan brought Yue Jinzhao, Yue Qi, and Ju Shifang into the Luo Family in the Western Regions. As soon as Yue Qi stepped within the bounds of the Luo Family in the Western Regions, the Hot Sea Key Ring in Luo Maiming's hand sensed her presence. He quickly had his subordinates inform Luo Zhaoyan to bring the few people to see him. Luo Zhaoyan brought the three to Luo Family estate to host them.

Luo Ning informed Luo Zhaoyan that her brother Maiming also wanted to see the three. Zhaoyan decided to take the three to see her brother Luo Maiming. Luo Maiming voluntarily appeared to meet the three, Yue Jinzhao, Yue Qi, and Ju Shifang. Yue Qi and Ju Shifang were both attracted by Luo Maiming's beauty. Luo Maiming voluntarily stated that he and Luo Zhaoyan were twins of the Luo Family and deliberately tested Yue Qi.

Facing Yue Jinzhao's questioning, he also admitted that he had already ordered people to investigate and found that Yue Jinzhao and Yue Qi set off from Wuyan Village three years ago and had been traveling and upholding justice along the way, without any contact with Qiyuan Sect. Yue Jinzhao also explained that although Yue Qi could absorb Qiyuan Beads, it only proved that Yue Qi's origins were related to Qiyuan Sect, not that she was Lord Ming.

Luo Maiming found some information from the Qiyuan Sect ledger that Luo Zhaoyan brought back and speculated that Qiyuan Sect had taken the captured people to Luori Village. Luo Zhaoyan and others decided to depart for Luori Village tomorrow to investigate. For the first time in two hundred years, the Hot Sea showed unusual activity. The Nine Springs originally shifted according to the Heavenly Dao, being the source of nourishment for all things.

The Hot Sea among the Nine Springs provided a constant source of vitality. To retain the desert water source, the Luo Family ancestors performed a blood sacrifice involving Luo Maiming to stabilize the Hot Sea for their private use. Only then did the Luo Family territory gain a continuous water source, while Luo Maiming was unable to step out of the Luo Family for the rest of his life.

Only after his death did Luo Maiming discover that along with the Hot Sea, his soul was also bound. Now, because of Yue Qi, the Hot Sea had fluctuations. Luo Maiming was unwilling to miss this opportunity, but after trying, he still failed.

Yue Jinzhao noticed something strange about the Luo Family, feeling as if the person in charge of the Luo Family should be Luo Maiming, not Luo Zhaoyan, and was even more puzzled why Luo Maiming was being so solicitous towards Yue Qi. Although Luo Maiming's attempt to leave the Luo Family failed, he still believed that Yue Qi was the key to breaking the Hot Sea curse.

Luo Zhaoyan specially gave the painting she brought from her travels to Luo Maiming. Because Luo Maiming could not leave the Luo Family, he did not care about this gift. That year, Luo Zhaoyan's father Luo Wangnian made a pact with a wolf demon. The wolf demon used half of his cultivation base to save Luo Zhaoyan, while Luo Wangnian willingly let the wolf demon eat him.

For all these years, Luo Zhaoyan had always treated Luo Maiming as her twin and was kind to him, but she did not know that Luo Maiming had been stealing her life force because of the curse, leading to her destined fate of dying young. Luo Maiming took advantage of Yue Jinzhao being out to specifically seek out Yue Qi.

He pretended to help Yue Qi search for the mystery of her origins, and along the way, he deliberately used a hypnotic incense to question Yue Qi, trying to elicit information about the Hot Sea from her. Meanwhile, Yue Jinzhao trespassed into a forbidden area of the Luo Family and was discovered by Luo Zhaoyan. He originally wanted to summon Yue Qi but unexpectedly found that he could not contact Yue Qi through resonance.

Yue Jinzhao realized Yue Qi was in danger and quickly rushed back to the room. Luo Maiming was just about to ask Yue Qi who her master was when Yue Jinzhao rushed back to the room, interrupting Luo Maiming's questioning. Luo Maiming had no choice but to take his leave.

Luo Zhaoyan informed Luo Maiming about Yue Jinzhao trespassing into the forbidden area of the Luo Family, only then learning that Luo Maiming had deliberately allowed Yue Jinzhao to enter the forbidden area. He also confirmed through probing Yue Qi's mind that she was definitely not Lord Ming, but also confirmed that Yue Qi was familiar with the Nine Springs. Luo Maiming had been trapped in the Luo Family for several hundred years due to the curse.

Now, he only wanted to break free from the restraints and leave the Luo Family, no longer caring about the water source and lives of other Luo Family members. However, Luo Zhaoyan, as the head of the Luo Family, was unwilling to change her stance of protecting the Luo Family. Yue Jinzhao learned from Yue Qi that Luo Maiming's test of Yue Qi was because he suspected she was related to the Nine Springs.

Seeing the residue of hypnotic incense left in the room, he came to question Luo Zhaoyan. Although Luo Zhaoyan explained that Luo Maiming was just helping Yue Qi recall things from three years ago by probing her mind, Yue Jinzhao angrily accused the other party of being pretentious.
