Following her profound disappointment with Bo Hai, Ling Lingqi wrestled with her feelings. While at a branch shop, she overheard the manager discussing floral concepts with a female customer who also harbored a secret crush. Unable to contain herself, Ling Lingqi impulsively asked the customer if she truly knew the person she was attracted to, sharing her own realization that the man she once admired was "totally different" from her imagination.

The manager, furious at Ling Lingqi for upsetting the customer and potentially losing business, demanded an apology. Ling Lingqi, feeling misunderstood, then declared her intention to quit, reasoning that after abandoning her major and applying for three years just to work at FlowerPlus for Bo Hai, there was no reason to stay now that she no longer liked him. However, her parents vehemently disagreed, reminding her how difficult it was to secure the job and emphasizing their pride in her.

Ling Lingqi's mother, particularly, pressed her to remain, viewing her success as the family's honor. Ling Lingqi found herself caught between her disillusionment and her family’s high hopes. Despite her internal conflict, Ling Lingqi's mother was eager to arrange a blind date for her with Dahua, a neighbor's son, whom she described as "excellent" and "a cool man." Ling Lingqi, viewing the date as a "cure" to forget Bo Hai, reluctantly agreed.

The next morning, her mother enthusiastically dressed her, reminiscing about wearing the same dress when she was pregnant with Ling Lingqi, and then rushed her out, ensuring she would appear diligent by telling Dahua she was working on a Saturday. However, upon arriving at the café across from FlowerPlus, where Bo Hai also coincidentally descended to buy coffee, Ling Lingqi discovered Dahua was far from the attractive man in the photo; instead, he was an unappealing, corpulent man.

Ling Lingqi tried to hide, but Bo Hai, noticing her hurried demeanor, mischievously signaled Dahua to her. Dahua eagerly greeted her, forcing Ling Lingqi to awkwardly claim he had mistaken her for someone else before making her escape. Later, Ling Lingqi lamented her misfortune to Lu Baoni, feeling particularly unlucky to have run into "Chomper" Bo Hai again, who she felt had caused her embarrassment.

Lu Baoni agreed, advising Ling Lingqi to give up any lingering illusions about Bo Hai, emphasizing their incompatibility and urging her to stay away from him. Ling Lingqi, resolving to avoid him at all costs, reflected on the dramatic shift from intensely trying to meet Bo Hai to now desperately seeking to evade him.

Bo Hai formally announced a major partnership with Chinese painter Mr. Li Qingzhu for his first exhibition back in China, where FlowerPlus was tasked with creating a large floral installation called "Mirror Lake." Bo Hai emphasized the exhibition's importance for FlowerPlus's reputation. Ling Lingqi was assigned to the exhibition center to help with odd jobs, but unlike the other eager interns vying for the chance to work alongside Bo Hai, she actively sought to avoid him.

She volunteered for the physically demanding task of transporting flowers, a choice Bo Hai noted, subsequently docking her three days' wages with a hint of malicious amusement. Inside the venue, the section manager's floral arrangement appeared stiff. Ling Lingqi quietly suggested incorporating more diverse flowers to add vibrancy, but the manager, who had a history of disliking her, curtly dismissed her. Moments later, Bo Hai also found the arrangement rigid.

When informed that someone had already made a similar suggestion, he praised their talent and instructed Chen Mo to assign that person as his assistant. To Bo Hai’s surprise, Chen Mo presented Ling Lingqi. Bo Hai inwardly acknowledged the irony of their intertwined fates. Ling Lingqi, no longer enchanted by him, wished to keep her distance and tried to pass the opportunity to a colleague, but Bo Hai firmly rejected her request.

Meanwhile, Lu Baoni continued to be a magnet for male colleagues' attention, with Mo Nan consistently appearing to rescue her from persistent suitors. Both Mo Nan and Lu Baoni were surprised when they heard about Ling Lingqi's new role as Bo Hai's assistant. During Bo Hai's passionate speech detailing his design philosophy on stage, Ling Lingqi, momentarily forgetting her resolve, found herself admiring her former idol, becoming momentarily infatuated.

She stumbled on a step and nearly fell, but Bo Hai swiftly caught her. Immediately, however, he pushed her aside to protect his valuable flower bouquet from being damaged. Lu Baoni, witnessing her best friend's injury, was furious and strongly advised Ling Lingqi to completely detach herself from the "Chomper." Returning to her work, Ling Lingqi’s focused demeanor, devoid of any lingering infatuation, visibly surprised Chen Mo.

Later that evening, as Mo Nan and Lu Baoni headed home, Lu Baoni expressed disbelief that Mo Nan lived in such a prime location and playfully insisted on visiting his home. Mo Nan vaguely explained he merely co-rented an old house, intentionally keeping details about his family background to himself. However, Lu Baoni, treating him like a dear friend, immediately grew concerned about his rent and offered to help him find a more suitable place.

That night, Ling Lingqi remained at the company, working late, as did Bo Hai. Suddenly, the power failed, plunging both of them into unsettling darkness. Ling Lingqi, fearful of the dark, nervously wandered the venue and called Lu Baoni in a panic. Just as Bo Hai opened a door, Ling Lingqi, startled, fainted from fright. Hearing her scream through the phone, Lu Baoni and Mo Nan immediately rushed back to the company.

Ling Lingqi awoke to find herself in Bo Hai’s office. He abruptly told her to leave, not wanting her to disturb his work. After a brief, exasperating exchange where Bo Hai teased her, an angry Ling Lingqi tried to leave, nearly stumbling as she pushed open the door. Bo Hai, with quick reflexes, grabbed her to prevent a fall, a moment witnessed by the arriving Mo Nan and Lu Baoni.

Outside the company, Mo Nan and Lu Baoni exchanged knowing, gossipy glances at Ling Lingqi, who nervously denied anything untoward had occurred, though her explanations only seemed to fuel their amusement. Once power was restored, Chen Mo brought in a large assortment of junk food, which Bo Hai and Ling Lingqi shared in a playful, bickering exchange. Bo Hai confided in Chen Mo that his "Good Dream Bracelet" was no longer effective, lamenting his return to nights of terrifying insomnia.

Unbeknownst to him, Ling Lingqi had stopped wearing the bracelet to sleep, thus preventing her from entering his dreams and inadvertently depriving him of his nightly "sleeping pill." On her way home, Ling Lingqi reflected on the day's events, strengthening her resolve not to be swayed by Bo Hai's charm. Seeing her father peacefully asleep in their small supermarket, having waited up for her, her heart swelled with warmth.

She realized the profound importance of her loving family over any distant, idealized idol. Meanwhile, Lu Baoni delivered on her promise, having found a new living space for Mo Nan: the rooftop of Ling Lingqi's own home. After Ling Lingqi successfully convinced her parents to rent out the space, Mo Nan, touched by his "sister's" efforts, awkwardly but gratefully accepted the offer.

As FlowerPlus employees worked tirelessly for the exhibition, Wen Guangqi, determined to cause trouble, sent a representative to "inspect" the venue, claiming to verify against negligence or substandard materials. This individual was momentarily apprehended by Chen Mo, but Bo Hai permitted his departure after the man only took a few flowers. This seemingly minor incident proved to be a decoy, as shortly after the team returned to the company, they discovered the exhibition hall engulfed in flames.

The staff remained calm and quickly worked to extinguish the blaze. Surrounded by the fire, Bo Hai's vision blurred, turning to shades of gray and black, and he nearly collapsed. Ling Lingqi, without hesitation, rushed forward to support him. The fire was successfully put out with minimal damage, but Bo Hai had disappeared from the scene. He managed to return home alone, where he finally succumbed to his distress and collapsed onto the floor.
