Sheng Yang, Song Chen, and Pan Rou established their studio with limited funds, and Jian Bing offered to provide shooting equipment. Not wanting to borrow a studio through Jian Bing's ex-husband, Sheng Yang persuaded the security captain of a deserted commercial building to let them use the space, bringing braised stews and roast chicken to win him over.
After learning they were filming a public service advertisement, the captain agreed on the strict condition that they finish within one day, a term Sheng Yang eagerly accepted, also promising to clean up all props afterward. During the shoot, Jian Bing and her team worked tirelessly to complete the advertisement. As everyone celebrated the wrap, some suggested going to a nightclub.
Jian Bing declined, explaining she needed to review the footage and wasn't one for such lively events, instructing Sheng Yang to take the others. Watching them interact, Pan Rou and Song Chen playfully commented that they were now fans of the couple. Later that evening, Jian Bing was confronted at home by her sister, Jian Shuang, who expressed deep concern about her association with the recently unemployed Sheng Yang, highlighting their significant age gap.
Arguing that Jian Bing shouldn't pursue another unstable relationship after a failed marriage, Jian Shuang adamantly pushed her to consider the more reliable Fang Mu. An irritated Jian Bing told her sister to stop, asserting her right to be a wealthy, happy, single woman who could enjoy dating. Invigorated by their talk, she felt too young to stay home and defiantly changed clothes to join the team at the club.
At the nightclub, Jian Bing learned Sheng Yang hadn't come, but she joined the others for drinks anyway. Meanwhile, Sheng Yang was at home with his parents when he received a message from Song Chen that Jian Bing was at the club. He immediately rushed over. Upon seeing him, Jian Bing excitedly pulled him onto the stage, and their synchronized dancing quickly became the center of attention.
The rest of the crew soon joined them, and everyone reveled in the celebratory atmosphere. Concerned about how much she was drinking, Sheng Yang pulled Jian Bing aside and offered her milk. She playfully complained, preferring wine and questioning why he always sounded like an old man, joking about who was actually closer to forty.
Sheng Yang complimented her, not just for being the most beautiful woman in the club, but for her strong personality, independence, and sharp mind, adding that she even looked good when angry. Their conversation was interrupted by a call from Sheng Yang’s mother, Luo Meijuan, who insisted he bring Jian Bing to their home for dinner the next day to thank her. Though hesitant, Jian Bing accepted the invitation.
The next day, Jian Bing arrived with gifts of tea, honey, and face masks. Luo Meijuan and Sheng Xiangqian had prepared a lavish meal to welcome their son's "benefactor." Luo Meijuan insisted Jian Bing call her "sister" and then, over Sheng Yang's strong protests, instructed him to address Jian Bing as his "little little aunt." During dinner, Luo Meijuan eagerly tried to play matchmaker using dating apps.
Sheng Xiangqian suggested Jian Bing might want to enjoy her single life, but his wife passionately argued that not all women want to get married, as some are meant to soar freely. Feeling overwhelmed, Jian Bing escaped to the bathroom while a frustrated Sheng Yang confronted his mother for trying to arrange Jian Bing's life. When she returned, Luo Meijuan resumed her efforts, prompting Jian Bing to lie that she already had a boyfriend—a university teacher.
After vaguely answering questions, Jian Bing feigned an urgent work meeting and quickly left. Later, Sheng Yang, mistakenly believing Jian Bing was now in a relationship with Fang Mu, sent her a flurry of messages. When Jian Bing called him back, he confronted her, demanding to know if she had made things official with Fang Mu without telling him or if she was just placating his mother.
Annoyed, Jian Bing retorted that their relationship didn't grant him the right to such information. She explained it was a spur-of-the-moment lie to escape the matchmaking attempt. Sheng Yang, however, artistically interpreted this as a sign of her subconscious feelings, suggesting her heart had an answer even if her mind hadn't realized it. Frustrated, Jian Bing ended the call. Jian Shuang, overhearing the argument, wrongly assumed they were fighting, reinforcing her belief that Fang Mu was a better match.
Meanwhile, Xue Yiming taunted Jian Bing for dedicating so much effort to Sheng Yang's minor project, calling her "lovesick." She sharply retorted and focused on her work, quickly finishing Sheng Yang’s ad before tackling a company project that required a shoot on a snow mountain. Soon after, Jian Bing sent the completed demo to Sheng Yang. Song Chen and Pan Rou were stunned by the quality and her fast editing, certain the ad would win awards.
Sheng Yang, however, was too preoccupied to watch and immediately left, with Song Chen speculating he was going to treat Jian Bing to a meal. At the same time, Fang Mu showed off an expensive new suit he had bought for a special visit to Jian Bing's set. His plans were foiled when Jian Shuang revealed Jian Bing was leaving for a three-day business trip to Fairy Mountain.
Seizing the opportunity, Hao Junjie borrowed the suit from Fang Mu, resolved to confess his feelings to Jian Shuang before he had to leave. Despite Fang Mu's warning that it could ruin their friendship, Hao Junjie insisted on making a move. Meanwhile, Sheng Yang arrived at Jian Bing's empty apartment. After knocking unanswered, he sent her a series of heartfelt messages, apologizing for his and his family's behavior. Stating he now understood her awkward position, he pleaded for a chance to talk with her alone.
