Snow Eagle Lord Episode 23 Recap
> Snow Eagle Lord Recap
In a dark chamber, Mo Yangchen demonstrated demonic techniques to Kong Hao, offering him immense power in exchange for his obedience. Kong Hao staunchly refused, declaring he would never become a lackey for the Demon Clan. As Mo Yangchen grew impatient with his defiance, Situ Hong arrived, drawn by the sounds. He recognized Kong Hao by the unique scent of a sachet made by Kong Youyue.
Situ Hong attempted to free Kong Hao, but Mo Yangchen appeared, questioning his actions and warning that rescuing Kong Hao would expose their alliance and ruin Situ Hong's future. Enraged by this betrayal, Kong Hao accused Situ Hong of betraying their master. Pressured by Mo Yangchen to kill Kong Hao and secure his own future, Situ Hong initially pleaded for Kong Hao's life, citing his youth and the grief it would cause his sister.
However, Kong Hao called Situ Hong despicable and unworthy of being a Changfeng disciple. This triggered Situ Hong, who vented his frustration about being constantly overlooked in favor of DongBo Xueying. Kong Hao retorted that Situ Hong, a complete loser, could never compare to DongBo Xueying, a Transcendent and the pride of the academy. This final insult drove Situ Hong to kill Kong Hao.
Mo Yangchen praised Situ Hong’s growing power and ruthlessness, promising it would bring him closer to his ambitions. He then took charge of the body, stating it still had its uses. Mo Yangchen presented Kong Hao's body to his father, Kong Hai. He claimed Kong Hao was not dead but would perish from internal injuries within hours unless treated with a special technique.
Using the lives of both Kong Hao and his daughter Kong Youyue as leverage, Mo Yangchen blackmailed Kong Hai, a prosperous weapon smith, into cooperating. Terrified, Kong Hai agreed to use his family's resources to help transport the bronze coffin. At Snow Stone Fort, the elders mourned Master Tai Shu and discussed their failure to locate Ao Lan and the bronze coffin, resolving to remain within the protection of the Black White Moon barrier.
Xi Yun, believing he was speaking to Tong San, acquired food and wine to share with Master He. The meal was drugged, and both men quickly fell into a deep sleep. Seizing the opportunity, Mo Yangchen and Situ Hong performed a ritual to break the Black White Moon barrier.
As Situ Hong grappled with his conscience over his betrayals, Mo Yangchen outlined their plan: the barrier breach would distract the elders, allowing Kong Hai to transport the coffin by land, hidden among his usual weapon shipments. Alerted by her meditation vision, Kong Youyue saw her father with Mo Yangchen and a figure she thought was Tong San transporting the coffin. She rushed to confront them, but her father desperately tried to send her away.
The figure with them then revealed his true form as Ao Lan. As Kong Hai shielded his daughter, Mo Yangchen killed him, remarking that it was as easy as killing his son. With his dying words, Kong Hai apologized for failing to protect his children. As a grief-stricken Kong Youyue vowed revenge, Pu Yangbo arrived and forcibly carried her away, knowing they were no match for Mo Yangchen and Ao Lan.
He returned to Snow Stone Fort, announcing that the barrier was broken and the coffin was gone. Meanwhile, Bai Yuanzhi attempted to intercept Ao Lan, but a flare-up of his demonic poison incapacitated him. Just as Ao Lan's party was leaving, Ji Rong appeared. Bai Yuanzhi urged her to retrieve the coffin, but she refused, prioritizing his life.
Seeing his poisoned hand, she began absorbing the demonic poison into her own body despite his protests, insisting she owed him her life. Back at the fort, Xi Yun and Master He were awakened and realized they had been poisoned. Kong Youyue recounted what she had witnessed, accusing the disguised Ao Lan of killing her father.
At the same time, the real Tong San, gravely injured, used his last strength to break out of a magical confinement in a room and collapsed. DongBo Xueying and DongBo Qingshi found him, but he died in their arms. Zong Ling speculated that Tong San was silenced by Ao Lan after discovering their plan. An argument broke out between DongBo Qingshi and Master He over the security failure.
Qingshi then recalled seeing Tong San in Ji Rong's room days earlier, which piqued Zong Ling's suspicion. However, Qingshi vehemently defended Ji Rong's kindness and resolved to find her at Bai Yuanzhi's residence to clear her name. At the Demon God Association, their master praised Ao Lan and Mo Yangchen for retrieving the coffin, declaring that the conditions for his reawakening were met. The next step was to open the coffin by killing the six elders who had sealed it.
Back at the fort, Master He deduced that his traitorous former disciple, Mo Yangchen, was responsible for breaking the barrier. He then received a telepathic taunt from Mo Yangchen. The elders understood the Demon Clan’s goal was to resurrect the Great Demon God and resolved to reunite the original six elders, including the absent Ye Mei, to stop them. DongBo Qingshi found Ji Rong tending to Bai Yuanzhi and accused her of colluding with the demons.
Ji Rong tearfully fabricated a story, claiming she had discovered Ao Lan and Mo Yangchen, fought them, and was injured before being rescued by Bai Yuanzhi. Bai Yuanzhi corroborated her lie, claiming he found her fighting the demons alone. Consumed by guilt, Qingshi apologized profusely and swore he would never doubt her again.
