Fu Pei, visibly intoxicated, mistakenly tried to kiss Wang Shan, believing her to be Situ Mo. The sound of a glass dropping to the floor startled him, bringing him to his senses. He turned to see Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi, attempting to explain, but Gu Weiyi curtly told him and Wang Shan to leave.
As Gu Weiyi went to get a mop for the broken glass, he cautioned Situ Mo not to touch it, prompting Situ Mo to reflect that all glass products are fragile and once broken, they can only be discarded. The next morning, as Situ Mo prepared to leave with her packed bags, Gu Weiyi called out to her. Desperate to keep her, he concocted a series of excuses.
First, he insisted she remove stickers from the wall, even feigning concern about wall damage. Then, he claimed the drain was clogged and asked her to fix it, reasoning that her long hair made her responsible. Finally, he declared the showerhead was broken and a plumber would be needed tomorrow, adding that he wouldn't be home and she would have to wait. Situ Mo, exasperated by his endless tasks, reluctantly agreed to stay.
Later, sitting in silence, Situ Mo realized she was hungry and the instant noodles in the fridge were gone. Gu Weiyi offered to buy more, but his excessive questioning about brands and other items annoyed Situ Mo, who decided to go with him to the supermarket. There, Gu Weiyi became engrossed by a smart robot demonstration.
Despite Situ Mo's protests that it was too expensive, the promotional aunt, mistakenly believing them to be a couple, encouraged the purchase, and Gu Weiyi bought it. At the checkout, to meet the minimum for a free shopping bag, Situ Mo grabbed a colorful metal tin, thinking it was chewing gum. Back home, Gu Weiyi opened it, also expecting candy, only to discover it contained condoms, which he quickly hid in embarrassment.
He then pondered other ways to convince Situ Mo to stay. The following day, while awaiting the plumber, Gu Weiyi presented a detailed argument for Situ Mo to continue living with him, citing proximity to her potential internship, strict dorm rules, and the fact that his mother had already paid a year's rent to Situ Mo's mother.
He then received a package containing a "military order" from Situ Mo's mother, which stipulated that her mother would cease supporting her rent if Situ Mo moved out. Gu Weiyi used this to emphasize his point, though he also assured Situ Mo that he would return to school once his experiments were complete. When Situ Mo directly asked why he wanted her to stay, Gu Weiyi, after a pause, claimed he was "afraid of your mom."
As the plumber arrived, Gu Weiyi, hearing Situ Mo mention she was going back to school, surreptitiously checked her room to ensure her luggage was still there, a sight that visibly relieved him. He later found a hiding spot for the order. Meanwhile, Situ Mo returned to her dormitory, where she and Meng Lu playfully wrestled. An awkward encounter with Wang Shan at the door was interrupted by a phone call for Situ Mo.
It was Ori Advertising, calling to inform her that she had passed her interview and assessment. Overjoyed, Situ Mo shared the news with her roommates, mentioning she would be moving out again. Later, in the cafeteria, Meng Lu introduced her boyfriend, Ah Ke. Situ Mo was surprised to learn that Ah Ke was also Gu Weiyi's roommate, realizing how little she knew.
As the four ate together, Meng Lu proposed a beach trip before their internships, admitting it was primarily to earn activity credits. She convinced Situ Mo to join and, to Situ Mo's surprise, Gu Weiyi agreed as well, stating he hadn't known it was a beach trip. Meng Lu and Ah Ke then left for a date.
Back in his dorm, Ah Ke made travel arrangements over the phone, unaware that Fu Pei was overhearing him and decided to join the trip himself. Situ Mo asked Gu Weiyi if he was free to help her move, promising watermelon as a reward. Gu Weiyi helped carry her luggage to his apartment. Inside, he asked her to retrieve his keys from his bag.
Situ Mo, reaching into the outermost compartment, pulled out the metal tin she had picked up at the supermarket, again mistaking it for candy. As she opened it, Gu Weiyi tried to stop her, but it was too late. The condoms were revealed, leading to an intensely awkward moment between them. After a discussion, Situ Mo agreed to dispose of them but then, teasingly, asked Gu Weiyi why he had them in his bag, implying he had "night activities."
Gu Weiyi calmly retorted by asking if she wanted to participate. Situ Mo later brought cut watermelon to Gu Weiyi's room and, more seriously, asked about the order from her mother. Gu Weiyi maintained he hadn't taken it and assured her he would not conspire with her mother to threaten her.
Their cohabitation settled into a comfortable routine; they often played games together, with Situ Mo consistently losing, and she frequently waited up for him in the living room when he came home late. The day of the beach trip arrived. Meng Lu and Ah Ke drove to pick up Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi. As Situ Mo opened the car door, she discovered Fu Pei and Wang Shan were also passengers.
Gu Weiyi quickly entered the car, subtly sparing Situ Mo the immediate awkwardness. Upon arrival, the "beach" proved to be a disappointment, resembling a murky river more than an ocean. While in the tent to change, Situ Mo found Wang Shan inside, doing her hair, and offered to help. Surprised, Wang Shan suddenly declared a desire for "fair competition."
Situ Mo, with a smile, reassured her that she no longer had feelings for Fu Pei and that her decision was absolutely not influenced by Wang Shan, resolving the long-standing tension between them. Later, Situ Mo struggled to fly a kite. Gu Weiyi effortlessly launched it into the sky and handed her the string. Spotting Fu Pei, Situ Mo mused aloud that relationships were like kites, held by a thread.
Gu Weiyi, hearing this, immediately produced a lighter and burned the kite string, sending it drifting away. Situ Mo playfully chased him in mock anger. As she enthusiastically collected various "treasures" from the sand, Gu Weiyi dampened her spirits with scientific explanations for each item, eventually causing her to walk away in a huff.
