Situ Mo was resting on her bed when her roommate, Wang Shan, handed her a ringing phone. It was Pu Hua Accounting Firm, calling to invite her for an interview. Situ Mo, surprised and excited, quickly got up to prepare. After hanging up, she noticed several missed calls from Fu Pei. As Wang Shan was heading downstairs for class, she encountered Fu Pei waiting outside the dorm.
He asked her to call Situ Mo down, but Wang Shan, in a hurry, quickly excused herself and left. When Situ Mo eventually came downstairs, Fu Pei was still waiting. He immediately brought up the events of the previous night, dramatically mimicking her drunken actions, including hugging him tightly, trying to kiss him, and touching his face and body.
Situ Mo, remembering nothing and feeling embarrassed, got angry and said she felt like hitting him, at which point Fu Pei stopped. She told him she was rushing to an interview and left. Meanwhile, Gu Weiyi visited Prof. Jiang's office. Prof. Jiang praised Gu Weiyi's submitted paper and invited him to join his experimental project team. Gu Weiyi expressed hesitation, feeling it would be unfair to the student who had won the spot by taking the exam.
Prof. Jiang countered, stating that Gu Weiyi's abilities would have secured him the top score and that the recruitment was flexible. She then tried to make small talk about her landlord's strange, cold "mortuary-like" house decor, but Gu Weiyi, wanting to read, curtly told her he wanted quiet, so she quietly left. While snacking at home, Situ Mo's mother called, reminding her to keep Aunt Xu's house tidy, as Aunt Xu's child would be visiting for a few days. Situ Mo casually agreed, not paying much attention. To her shock, Gu Weiyi suddenly appeared at the door.
He explained that he was Aunt Xu's son and had come home for the night because he couldn't get a cab in the rain after an experiment. Realizing the "mortuary" house she had described was his home, Situ Mo was mortified. Embarrassed by the mess she had made, she offered to move out immediately, but Gu Weiyi told her she could stay for the night and they should tidy up together.
The cleanup began with Gu Weiyi insisting she throw away her unfinished noodles. A moment of awkwardness ensued when Situ Mo couldn't take the trash out right away, confessing she wasn't wearing a bra, which flustered Gu Weiyi. After he showered, Situ Mo found he had taken all the toothbrushes. She confronted him, and he begrudgingly gave one back. Annoyed, she called her mother, who was pleased with the situation, praising Gu Weiyi and revealing her matchmaking intentions.
Gu Weiyi also called his mother, complaining that she hadn't told him her friend's child was a girl. In the middle of the night, Gu Weiyi, unable to sleep in his unfamiliar bed, went to ask Situ Mo to switch rooms. He found her doubled over in pain before she fainted. Panicked, Gu Weiyi gave her an old gastric pill and called an ambulance. In his frantic call, he mistakenly exclaimed to the operator, "I killed her with poison!"
At the hospital, they encountered the same doctor who had treated Situ Mo's foot. The doctor diagnosed her with acute gastroenteritis from the noodles, aggravated by the expired pill, and teased Gu Weiyi about "poisoning" his girlfriend. Just then, a man started smashing things, arguing with a doctor who claimed his son was faking a stomach ache to avoid an exam. Fearing Situ Mo would get hurt, Gu Weiyi shielded her with his body. At that moment, Situ Mo regained consciousness, and their eyes met.
