With their new apartment finally set up, Si Tu Mo and Gu Weiyi lie on the bed chatting. When their eyes meet, a sudden awkwardness fills the air. They both stand up, and Si Tu Mo quickly finds an excuse to take a shower. Having washed her bed sheets, Si Tu Mo plans to sleep on the sofa. Gu Weiyi, trying to be considerate, offers his room to Si Tu Mo while he sleeps on the mattress, but she refuses.
Later, as Si Tu Mo is cleaning her ears with a cotton bud on the sofa, Gu Weiyi startles her, causing the cotton bud to poke her ear. Concerned, Gu Weiyi checks on her and remembers her roommate mentioning that Si Tu Mo's ears are sensitive. He tests this by blowing into her ear, making her jump in surprise. After this, Si Tu Mo agrees to sleep in his room.
In the middle of the night, both Si Tu Mo and Gu Weiyi are restless and unable to sleep. They end up sharing the bed, but the atmosphere is tense. Gu Weiyi suggests he sleep outside, but Si Tu Mo reassures him, saying she trusts him. Gu Weiyi, however, warns her not to trust him. When Si Tu Mo then attempts to leave, Gu Weiyi stops her.
Drawn to Gu Weiyi's profile, Si Tu Mo asks if he truly likes her. Gu Weiyi deeply expresses his love for her, and Si Tu Mo shyly reciprocates, and they decide to attempt intimacy for the first time. Moments later, Gu Weiyi lies beside her, looking utterly defeated. Si Tu Mo tries to console him, explaining that theory and practice are different, and that it is perfectly normal for a first attempt to be unsuccessful.
Gu Weiyi, frustrated by the failure, tells her to stop talking, and Si Tu Mo, understanding his bruised ego, complies. Unwilling to accept failure, Gu Weiyi gets up and diligently studies on his computer, thoroughly researching the topic of human reproduction. He is so engrossed that he doesn't notice dawn breaking. Si Tu Mo has to go to work and leaves him to continue his studies. At her office, Xu Jie Er informs Si Tu Mo that their design for the Golden Pin Advertising Design Contest has been shortlisted, but their names have been removed and replaced with the company's "4th Creative Department."
During a subsequent company meeting, the director praises Si Tu Mo for her work on another project and announces that both she and Xu Jie Er will be promoted to permanent staff ahead of schedule for their contributions to the shortlisted works. Despite this news, Si Tu Mo remains visibly unhappy. Meanwhile, Gu Weiyi is engrossed in discussing the Germany exchange exam answers with Zhou Lei, causing him to miss Si Tu Mo's calls.
When she gets home, Gu Weiyi embraces her to offer comfort, but she misinterprets his gesture. Elsewhere, Wang Shan and Fu Pei make progress in planning their startup, but they face an 80,000 yuan budget deficit.
Fu Pei, no longer relying on his parents, is now determined to find solutions and take responsibility. Wang Shan is pleased with his transformation. Later, they reach out to Si Tu Mo to help revise their company logo. At the same time, Gu Weiyi and Si Tu Mo, still in a standoff, coincidentally call Fu Pei and Wang Shan separately to complain about each other, each declaring they will not apologize first.
However, Gu Weiyi sheds his pride and is the first to approach Si Tu Mo, knocking on her door and then pretending someone else did it. His strange behavior scares her a little, so she joins him in the living room. Gu Weiyi deliberately plays a horror movie to frighten her, and she genuinely gets scared and starts to cry. Gu Weiyi reveals he deliberately hid them on a high shelf, intending for her to ask him for help as a way to fully reconcile. His childish tactic makes Si Tu Mo happy. At the lab, the results for the Germany exchange program are announced. Zhou Lei is nervous but confident he scored higher. However, Gu Weiyi's score is 19 points higher than his. A heartbroken Zhou Lei watches as Gu Weiyi begins the procedures for his exchange to Germany.
Professor Jiang reminds the students to inform their families about the trip. Gu Weiyi, who always makes his own decisions, admits he hasn't mentioned his departure to his parents or to Si Tu Mo yet.
