Gu Weiyi took out his phone and snapped a photo of himself and Situ Mo, whose head was bowed. When asked who was in the picture, he coolly stated he liked himself the most. While everyone else found this response boring, Situ Mo understood his true meaning and was secretly delighted. As the birthday party wrapped up, the inebriated guests departed for their respective schools.
Situ Mo offered for them to stay overnight, but they declined, mentioning the distance and their schedules for the next day. Situ Mo helped one of her heavy friends out, advising them to be careful and notify her upon their arrival home. One guest told Situ Mo to take care of her roommate. Gu Weiyi eventually passed out on the sofa.
Unable to move him, Situ Mo left him there and went to her room, but not before noticing that, even in his drunken state, Gu Weiyi had somehow managed to get the fallen balloons back onto the ceiling. Later, in the middle of the night, Situ Mo woke up to use the restroom and found Gu Weiyi sitting upright on the sofa. Still half-asleep, Gu Weiyi leaned in and kissed Situ Mo.
Immediately after, he collapsed back into a deep slumber. Situ Mo was furious and speechless, calling him a "rascal." She briefly considered leaving him to freeze in the cold but, unable to bear it, covered him with a blanket. The next morning, Situ Mo dreamed that Gu Weiyi had prepared a lavish breakfast, complete with heart-shaped toast and eggs.
In her dream, he apologized for "that" night, saying he shouldn't have done it without her permission, and then confessed that he had liked her for a long time. Situ Mo, joyful, responded, "Me too." Just as he leaned in for another kiss, a balloon popped, startling her awake. She realized it was all just a dream, musing about her dream response, "Me too?"
Full of expectation, Situ Mo got up, hoping Gu Weiyi would utter the same words as in her dream. Wang Shan agreed enthusiastically and rushed back to her dorm, waking Meng Lu to help her with makeup and clothes, describing the situation as urgent. Fu Pei waited for her outside the dorm. When Wang Shan emerged, looking beautiful, Fu Pei complimented her, saying she should dress up more often, but he still seemed preoccupied. Meanwhile, in the lab, Xie Yu Yin brought warming tea for everyone due to the cold wave, specifically offering some to Gu Weiyi.
Zhou Lei teased her for her obvious favoritism. Prof. Jiang dismissively claimed that, at his age, cold weather didn't affect him and he never drank warming tea. However, his wife, Pei Lan, suddenly appeared, forcing him and the students to drink three large bowls of ginger tea. She reminded them that no food or drink was allowed in the lab, but since he always came home late, he had to drink it now.
At Situ Mo's company, her team was severely criticized by the art director. All their proposals were rejected as "old-fashioned" and "boring," and the project was reassigned to another team. Only Situ Mo's and Xu Jie Er's ideas were deemed acceptable, though still "unprofessional." Their friend then advised Fu Pei not to hesitate and to text or meet whoever he truly wanted to. Situ Mo tried repeatedly to refuse, but Xu Jie Er eventually pulled her along, joking that people at the office might think they were fighting over a man. At the hot pot restaurant, Xu Jie Er ordered only spicy broth, disregarding Situ Mo's preference.
She then probed into Situ Mo and Fu Pei's ambiguous relationship. Fu Pei admitted the problem was his. Xu Jie Er, sensing they needed privacy, excused herself to the restroom. Fu Pei apologized to Situ Mo for "that day." Situ Mo told him she wished she could say "it's alright," but she couldn't, as she was still angry and didn't want to see him for now.
She also asked him not to treat Wang Shan the way he had treated her. With a decisive "I'm off. See you no more," Situ Mo left. When Situ Mo returned home, she was startled to find Gu Weiyi standing by the door with a gloomy expression. He confronted her, demanding to know where she had been, noting her strong hot pot smell. Gu Weiyi, clearly upset and unwilling to hear further explanations, angrily retreated to his room. She playfully suggested that since he was from the North, he must be resistant to cold.
Seeing his continued coldness, she proposed they have hot pot again that night due to the frigid temperatures. Gu Weiyi, still sulking, dismissively replied that she had already had hot pot last night and called her idea "lame." When the bus arrived, he boarded it and left without another word, still visibly angry. At the lab, Gu Weiyi's foul mood was evident.
Zhou Lei jokingly commented on his late arrival, implying Gu Weiyi was clever to show up only after the equipment was set. Later, Situ Mo was experiencing stomach cramps due to her period and applied a warming patch. Gu Weiyi, recalling the book's advice to praise girls, offered to take her to the hospital. When she declined, he awkwardly tried to compliment her, saying she was "strong" and "folded clothes nicely," noting how "smooth and straight" they were. Gu Weiyi then read another section of the book, which suggested that discussing sex in a simple and natural way makes a man interesting. He tried to initiate a conversation by asking Situ Mo if she knew why the rusty patched bumblebee was going extinct. Situ Mo asked for a simpler explanation, so Gu Weiyi clarified: "Being overweight can cause a failure in sexual activity." Situ Mo found this amusing, confirming that indeed, being overweight could lead to extinction. Hearing Xie Yu Yin's name, Situ Mo abruptly announced she was going to bed and told him to turn off the TV, once again feeling a pang of jealousy. Gu Weiyi consulted the book again, which highlighted hair as a key factor in a girl's perception of a sexy boy. He then attempted to style his hair.
Later, Zhou Lei confronted Gu Weiyi, demanding to know what Prof. Jiang had really told him, refusing to believe it was just about cleaning the lab. Prof. Jiang walked in and asked Gu Weiyi if he had cleaned. Zhou Lei saw Prof. Jiang giving Gu Weiyi the book and accused them of swapping books, "just like in a movie," demanding the original back.
Prof. Jiang dismissed Zhou Lei's suspicion, claiming he was beyond help, and reiterated that he had only told Gu Weiyi to clean the lab, while Zhou Lei clarified that he had just bought his own book.
