Prodigy Healer Episode 14 Recap
> Prodigy Healer Recap
Ye Qiushi was compelled to accompany the group forward, knowing that Qiao Zheng Kun was ruthless and his own police force would be no match for Qiao's armored soldiers. Qiao Zheng Kun, who suffered from a strange illness, declared that he would do anything to cure himself, even if it meant threatening Ye Qiushi. Shangguan Qing then led the group to the tribe's entrance, where Kong Chan blocked their path.
Kong Chan confronted Shangguan Qing, questioning if he truly intended to sacrifice so many innocent lives for his own selfish desires and for Xiaodie. Shangguan Qing confirmed his intent, demanding the holy fruit and vowing not to leave without it. Qiao Zheng Kun chimed in, threatening to destroy the place if they didn't get the fruit.
Kong Chan offered one holy fruit if they retreated, explaining its rarity—a sacred tree takes a thousand years to grow, and only about ten fruits appear every hundred years. However, Qiao Zheng Kun rejected the offer, insisting that each of the three leaders, including himself, should receive a holy fruit. When Kong Chan refused, Qiao Zheng Kun ordered an attack. Shangguan Qing immediately engaged Kong Chan in battle, managing to snatch the holy fruit before disappearing from sight.
The battle turned fierce, resulting in heavy casualties on both sides. As the tribe began to gain the upper hand, Ye Qiushi, sensing the dire situation, quickly ordered his men to retreat. Qiao Zheng Kun also withdrew his forces. Kong Chan did not pursue them, returning to report to the chief.
Later, as Qiao Zheng Kun and Ye Qiushi were retreating, Qiao Zheng Kun pressed Ye Qiushi about Shangguan Qing's whereabouts, having heard that Shangguan Qing fled with the holy fruit. Qiao Zheng Kun considered turning back for more holy fruit, believing Kong Chan's earlier statement meant there were more, but Ye Qiushi argued against it, pointing out the tribe's ferocity.
Meanwhile, within the tribe, Elder Yue Kun reported to the chief about the outside world's rapid advancements and the destructive power of their weapons, suggesting they pursue and eliminate the invaders to prevent future threats. Mu Xingchen intervened, arguing that those people were merely manipulated by Shangguan Qing and should not be senselessly killed. The chief agreed with Mu Xingchen, instructing Yue Kun and Kong Chan to erase the invaders' memories to prevent further trouble.
Upon learning that Shangguan Wenxuan was the son of the traitor Mu Nanyue, some tribe members demanded his death, but the chief spared him, believing a son should not be punished for his father's sins. The chief also ordered Shi Hu to imprison Mu Xingchen for introspection and to escort Shangguan Wenxuan and Ye Yunshang out of the tribe, forbidding their return under penalty of death.
Back in the forest, Qiao Zheng Kun, his men, and Ye Qiushi found themselves disoriented and confused after Kong Chan and Yue Kun performed their memory-wiping magic. They awoke wondering how they got there. Witnessing the tribe's powerful magic, Qiao Zheng Kun and Ye Qiushi quickly gathered their remaining men and fled in a panic.
Before Shangguan Wenxuan was escorted out of the tribe, Mu Xingchen, from his prison, urged him not to be consumed by revenge, reminding him that Shangguan Qing had, after all, raised him. Shangguan Wenxuan vehemently replied that Shangguan Qing was not his father. When Ye Yunshang tried to assure Mu Xingchen that she would find a way to rescue him, Mu Xingchen gravely told her that their fate together was over.
He warned her not to return to the dangerous place and asked her to tell Qiao Zhentian to be wary of the Japanese to avoid being deceived again. Shi Hu then forcefully led Ye Yunshang away, giving her a necklace made from a holy fruit pit, a keepsake from Mu Xingchen. After Ye Yunshang left, Shi Hu advised Mu Xingchen to forget her, revealing that the chief had ordered her death if Mu Xingchen ever tried to see her again.
Mu Xingchen conceded, stating he would not seek her out. Back in his hideout, Shangguan Qing returned with the holy fruit, hoping to revive Xiaodie. He lovingly spoke to her, noting her eternal youth while lamenting his own aging. Despite his desperate attempts and all his knowledge, Xiaodie did not awaken. Realizing he had been deceived, Shangguan Qing cried out in anger, demanding to know why he had been lied to. He then tearfully cremated Xiaodie's body.
Afterward, to his shock, he discovered a long steel nail embedded in her skull. Back at the clinic, a sorrowful Ye Yunshang was comforted by Meijiao. Ye Yunshang confessed her despair, believing Mu Xingchen would never return. Meijiao, trying to cheer her up, revealed that Mu Xingchen had written a letter. In the letter, Mu Xingchen told Yun'er (Ye Yunshang) that his father had punished him by making him copy tribe rules, making his days tedious.
He expressed missing their time together and promised to escape to see her someday. Relieved, Ye Yunshang wrote a reply, which Shi Hu delivered to Mu Xingchen. In her letter, Ye Yunshang urged Mu Xingchen to be clever and escape soon to return to the clinic, as many "kittens and puppies" awaited his care. She also advised him to obey his father until things returned to normal before making his comeback.
Separately, Ye Yunshang received another letter from Mu Xingchen, warning that Song Ziqing was part of the Ying Liu Society and working for the Japanese, urging caution. Meijiao speculated that Song Ziqing would surely act and suggested seeking information from Shangguan Wenxuan, who was now the General Secretary. Ye Yunshang, however, asked why not go to Qiao Zhentian instead. Meijiao expressed disinterest in bothering Qiao Zhentian, whom she found annoying.
Later, as Qiao Zhentian waited impatiently for Shangguan Wenxuan, lamenting his hunger, Ye Yunshang's bag was stolen. While chasing the thief, she twisted her ankle. Qiao Zhentian immediately offered to carry her, teasing that if she were to limp, no one would marry such a pretty girl. As he carried her, Qiao Zhentian lightheartedly remarked that he no longer had a "love rival" now that Mu Xingchen was gone, also revealing he had canceled the arrest warrant for Mu Xingchen.
Ye Yunshang warned him to be careful of the powerful Japanese. Qiao Zhentian, declaring he feared no one but her, left her at the clinic, stating he had to continue patrolling and do good deeds for her sake. Elsewhere, Qiao Zheng Kun discussed the failed mission with his son, Qiao Zhentian, expressing frustration over Shangguan Qing's betrayal and the loss of soldiers.
He assured his son that he had covered up the incident by claiming they fought bandits and compensating the families. Qiao Zhentian suggested returning for more holy fruits, but Qiao Zheng Kun recounted the tribe's potent magic, describing their use of vines and poisonous insects, and identified the lead woman, Kong Chan, as Mu Xingchen's master.
He then ordered Qi Fei to investigate Mu Xingchen's background and declared his intention to confront Shangguan Qing to reclaim some of the holy fruit. Later, Shangguan Qing was contemplating the steel nail found in Xiaodie's skull when a bullet suddenly whizzed past him. He swiftly dodged it, only to find Qiao Zheng Kun standing before him.
