My Mowgli Boy Episode 6 Recap
> My Mowgli Boy Recap
Zheng Li demonstrated great care for Bai Yiling, even helping her search for a rental apartment. While discussing work, Bai Yiling informed him that she had moved out and was currently staying in a nearby hotel, looking for a suitable place near the company. Zheng Li offered to introduce her to a friend who had a property for rent, insisting on accompanying her to view it. Bai Yiling, though initially hesitant, agreed.
Noticing Bai Yiling touching her stomach, Zheng Li assumed she was in pain and offered her some medicine. Before she could explain it was related to her menstrual cycle, Zheng Li's father arrived. Zheng Li quickly handed the medicine to Bai Yiling, introduced her as his new assistant, and then cheerfully embraced his father, taking him downstairs. Zheng Li's father had invited Ling Xi to dinner that night, and Zheng Li readily agreed to join.
Meanwhile, Chi Xu approached Lu Ziyue, attempting to bribe him to win a lawsuit. Lu Ziyue, being principled, refused to compromise his integrity for money, stating he chose law to maintain his inner order, not to change the world. Chi Xu, frustrated, continued to pester him. Unbeknownst to them, Tang Cheng and Mowgli were nearby, having just finished shopping for clothes and a makeover.
Tang Cheng had to scold Mowgli for giving her only one snack while giving many to Ling Xi, to which Mowgli replied that Ling Xi was his girlfriend and he needed to be committed to her. Tang Cheng then noticed Lu Ziyue and Chi Xu, told Mowgli to wait in the car, and followed the two men. Tang Cheng observed Lu Ziyue’s righteous refusal and found him quite admirable in that moment.
She then stepped forward, smiling, and surprisingly encouraged Lu Ziyue to accept the bribe. Lu Ziyue was initially displeased, but a subtle wink and a discreet comment from Tang Cheng about the lack of witnesses or cameras ("If there's no evidence, if you don't say anything and I don't say anything, who would know?" ) made him understand her hidden intention to gather evidence. He then accepted the money, and Chi Xu confirmed it was non-refundable.
After Chi Xu departed, Lu Ziyue pursued Tang Cheng. He admitted that his previous marriage proposal was too rash and suggested they start with dating to truly get to know each other before considering marriage. Tang Cheng, exasperated, dismissed his romantic notions, telling him to focus on developing strategies to defeat her in court. She denied giving him any hint about the bribe, asserting that from now on, they were professional adversaries, confronting each other in court.
To deter him further, Tang Cheng declared she already had a boyfriend and offered to introduce him, boasting he was far more handsome than Lu Ziyue. Lu Ziyue, intrigued, agreed to meet this "rival." When they returned to the car, Mowgli was nowhere to be found. Lu Ziyue mentioned seeing him, dressed in a beige trench coat, walk off in a particular direction.
Mowgli, meanwhile, had been captivated by a large digital screen in a plaza displaying advertisements for a "forest oxygen bar" and beautiful lake scenery, urging a "return to the forest." This reminded him of his home. He later tried to board a bus, but without a card or money, he was told by the driver to get off. Tang Cheng grew increasingly anxious about Mowgli’s disappearance.
Lu Ziyue tried to reassure her, saying her "boyfriend" was an adult and wouldn't get lost easily. Tang Cheng retorted that Mowgli lived in the forest and was unfamiliar with city life, expressing concern for his safety. Lu Ziyue, realizing the unique circumstances, quickly agreed to help her search. Mowgli wandered through the city streets, finding the constant noise and commotion disorienting and uncomfortable after his life in the tranquil forest.
Meanwhile, Ling Xi was having dinner with Zheng Li's family. She was very warm towards Zheng Li's parents, bringing them gifts, with Zheng Li's mother even affectionately calling her "daughter-in-law." Ling Xi took the opportunity to clarify that her recent live stream, where she introduced Mowgli as her boyfriend, was merely a marketing stunt with a colleague and not a real relationship, emphasizing it was a misunderstanding.
Despite this, Zheng Li was distracted, secretly texting Bai Yiling about meeting to view a rental property. When he attempted to leave, feigning a work emergency, Ling Xi deliberately "accidentally" spilled wine on his phone, rendering it unusable and preventing him from departing early. His parents supported Ling Xi, urging him to stay for dessert. Later that night, Ling Xi returned home and noticed numerous missed calls from Tang Cheng. Upon calling back, she learned that Mowgli was lost.
She immediately rushed out to search for him, not even noticing her mismatched shoes. To her surprise, she found Mowgli sitting forlornly at her doorstep. He told her he couldn't go back and offered her his last chocolate, asking her to take him home. Ling Xi was astonished by his polished, handsome appearance after the makeover and felt a mix of tender emotion and amusement. Soon after, Tang Cheng and Lu Ziyue arrived.
Lu Ziyue, displaying an unexpected domestic side, cooked a steak for Mowgli, who observed with wide eyes and seemed to like him very much. Mowgli then expressed his desire for Ling Xi to send him back to the forest. Lu Ziyue agreed, arguing that the forest was his true home, where his wild nature could thrive, and that keeping him in an unfamiliar environment was akin to forcing wild animals to perform.
Ling Xi and Tang Cheng were both against Mowgli returning. Tang Cheng initially joked about Lu Ziyue being overly invested but later agreed with him that Mowgli's forest friends couldn't find him if he was hidden in the city. However, Ling Xi could not let Mowgli leave, as she needed him to maintain her fake relationship to boost her popularity. Resorting to emotional manipulation, she declared that if Mowgli left, she would "die right here."
Mowgli, simple-hearted and wanting to protect his "friend," immediately promised to stay, much to Ling Xi’s delight. Disapproving of Ling Xi’s tactics, Lu Ziyue pulled Mowgli aside on the rooftop. He warned Mowgli not to trust humans too easily, especially women, whom he described as potentially more dangerous than beasts because they hide their true thoughts.
Mowgli, though not fully grasping the nuances, stated that he knew Ling Xi wouldn't actually die, but she needed his help, and he felt a strong sense of loyalty to repay her kindness. He revealed that he had attended junior high school and was happy there despite the remote location and few classmates, but Ling Xi was more important to him than returning to the forest.
Lu Ziyue, resigned to Mowgli's decision, gave him his phone number, calling it a "life-saving helpline" and instructing him to call immediately if he ever encountered trouble, as Lu Ziyue couldn't protect him constantly. Ling Xi, overhearing some of their conversation, admitted to Tang Cheng that keeping Mowgli was a temporary measure to gain popularity, but promised to treat him well and send him back once the situation was resolved.
She also decided to change her Mori Girl fashion line to use eco-friendly materials, hoping it would make Mowgli happier. Ling Xi asked Tang Cheng for advice on how to transform Mowgli from a "boy in the woods" into a "highbrow gentleman" for an upcoming show. Tang Cheng handed her a "parenting guide." Ling Xi began Mowgli's training, starting with basic grooming like combing hair and brushing teeth.
She then tried to teach him to read by showing him words that she claimed meant "you are handsome" but actually spelled "you are an ugly monster." To her surprise, Mowgli correctly read the actual words, revealing his literacy. She then introduced him to a cellphone, explaining its functions for calls and location tracking, and even pre-programmed her contacts.
She asked him to make a test call to her, but Mowgli immediately called Lu Ziyue instead, excitedly telling him he had a phone and how magical it was. Mowgli quickly learned to use all of Ling Xi's smart home appliances and even completed first-year high school math exercises, further astonishing Ling Xi. He frequently called Lu Ziyue and asked Ling Xi for more things to learn, even inquiring if they could use internet calls to save money.
Ling Xi eventually asked him not to call her when they were in the same room. The next day, Ling Xi brought Mowgli to her studio for further training with Li Kai and Ren He, instructing them to teach him how to be a "warm man" boyfriend and how to understand girls. When asked what sweethearts should do, Mowgli innocently replied, "Hunting for her."
During a role-playing scenario where Mowgli's cooking blackened the kitchen, and Ling Xi smilingly said she would clean it, Mowgli suggested hanging gloves and a mop around her neck, failing to grasp that "no" often means "yes" for girls.
In another scenario, where Ling Xi was on a diet but another girl complained about too many ribs, Mowgli suggested eating the ribs for the other girl, again missing the cue to order ribs for himself and Ling Xi to share to "show affection publicly." Ren He summarized that understanding girls required flexible interpretation and intuition. Li Kai demonstrated proper gentlemanly behavior in a restaurant, including affectionate gazing and intimate hair-brushing.
Mowgli diligently practiced these moves with Ling Xi, but his attempts to affectionately gaze and brush her hair came across as awkward and comical, making Ling Xi uncomfortable. Ling Xi was exasperated, questioning her assistants' training methods and asking if they wanted to laugh at her during the upcoming interview. Mowgli, however, defended himself by repeating their lesson that "when a girl says she doesn't want something, she actually wants it." Ling Xi angrily clarified that it "depends on the person" and, frustrated, ordered her assistants not to leave until Mowgli was properly trained.
