Lu Ziyue brought a heavily intoxicated Tang Cheng back to her apartment, where Ling Xi and Mowgli were waiting. Tang Cheng, in her drunken state, mistook Ling Xi for Lu Ziyue and tearfully confessed her deep regret and love for him. She pleaded with "Lu Ziyue" not to leave her, revealing that she had desperately gone to his mother’s house just to see him, only for him to drive her away.

She worried that pursuing him further would make her seem pathetic and promised to stop going to bars and that he was all she thought about. Ling Xi, seeing Tang Cheng’s anguish, played along as "Lu Ziyue," comforting her and assuring her she would stay by her side. Meanwhile, Lu Ziyue, who had been standing outside, overheard Tang Cheng's emotional outpouring. Mowgli, observing the scene, told Lu Ziyue not to feign indifference, warning him it would hurt Tang Cheng.

As Lu Ziyue finally walked away, Tang Cheng defiantly declared she would bring him back, no matter where he went. At Mozi Capital, Ling Xi presented her vision for a platform for young designers and entrepreneurs to a panel of investors. She outlined her strategies for risk management and plans to collaborate with promising small design teams, as well as hiring qualified individuals during their "empty windows."

However, the interviewers pressed her on why her former employees had not returned, questioning her capability as a leader. Just as Ling Xi began to deny these accusations, Li Kai, Tutu, and Ren He dramatically appeared, announcing they had quit their old jobs to rejoin Ling Xi's venture. Ren He explained she felt her talents would be better utilized with Ling Xi, while Li Kai and Tutu expressed boredom with their previous work and a desire for a new start-up.

Overjoyed by their return, Ling Xi hosted a celebratory barbecue. She outlined a new startup model, explaining that while she couldn't offer generous salaries initially, they would advance together, free from anxiety and burden. To support them, she presented her team with "Learning Cards," each with a 200,000 yuan credit for professional courses, promising to cover their tuition.

She also distributed "Exemption Cards" as a symbolic gesture, encouraging them to work without fear of making mistakes, assuring them that she would bear the responsibility alongside them. Ling Xi admitted her past arrogance had eroded their trust and expressed a desire to build genuine friendships, urging them to share any difficulties. The team, touched by her sincerity, reaffirmed their trust in her. Later, Li Kai remarked on Ling Xi's significant change, attributing it to Mowgli's influence.

Mowgli humbly stated that Ling Xi's transformation was her own doing, and he merely offered support during her difficult times. Noticing Li Kai's affection for Ren He, Mowgli encouraged him to pursue her. The team then playfully teased Ling Xi about Mowgli's new job at Mozi Capital, warning her that his handsome looks might attract other women. Ling Xi challenged Mowgli to a "survival drill" against female attention, to which he charmingly responded that she was precisely his type.

Ling Xi then gave Tang Cheng a comfortable sleeping bag, a practical gift for her friend's renewed busy schedule. Tang Cheng expressed her happiness for Ling Xi's flourishing career and romance, feeling a sense of shared accomplishment. Ling Xi, in turn, urged Tang Cheng to stop drinking heavily and move past her heartbreak, reminding her of her own past advice against dwelling on lost relationships.

Tang Cheng, embarrassed, asked if she had done anything foolish while drunk, which Ling Xi reassuringly dismissed. Ling Xi then mentioned that Lu Ziyue was leaving in two days, hinting that Tang Cheng might still have a chance to win him back. Tang Cheng was surprised by how soon he was departing. Meanwhile, Ling Yu was seen working at a cafe, lost in thought about Chu Shi.

He silently wished her continued happiness, vowing that he would repay his loan shark debts and then pursue her honorably. When Chu Shi unexpectedly returned to the cafe, having forgotten something, Ling Yu quickly hid, watching her from a distance. Mowgli began his new role as a consultant for the Senmu resort project at Mozi Capital.

Ling Xi meticulously dressed him in a business suit, carefully tying his tie, and playfully laid down rules: no eye contact with female colleagues, instant replies to her messages, and her explicit permission for any dinner engagements with coworkers. Mowgli reassured her that his purpose in working was to build a future with her, promising he would never prioritize his career over their relationship. They exchanged "I love you"s before he left.

At the office, Mowgli was introduced to his secretary, Gu Yuan, and a project participant named Xiao Wang, quickly realizing the workplace environment was quite rigorous. He glanced at the watch Ling Xi had drawn on his wrist, remembering her playful "romantic" theory that 1 PM was when she missed him the most. He texted her, "I miss you too." Later, Li Yuheng noticed the drawn watch and offered Mowgli a real one, which Mowgli politely declined.

Li Yuheng then provided him with the schedule for the upcoming Senmu resort launch ceremony, where Mowgli was to represent the company. The image of a lush forest on the schedule visibly unsettled Mowgli. That night, he awoke from a terrifying nightmare, screaming. Ling Xi quickly comforted him, and he revealed that these were not mere dreams, but recurring recollections of a childhood trauma.

He recounted how, at seven years old, he lived with his Ranger grandfather until his grandpa suddenly screamed "Run!" He fled into the forest, pursued by hounds, only to be saved by a little wolf. Then, he heard two gunshots, and "everything was over." Mowgli expressed his deep fear of losing those close to him. Ling Xi assured him that she would always be by his side and that such events would never happen again.

She then produced a hand-drawn Exorcism Amulet, featuring a fierce face she claimed was her, to protect him. They shared a tender moment, making a pinky promise to spend their lives together. Mowgli shared his admiration for wolves, highlighting their loyalty and lifelong commitment to a single partner, prompting Ling Xi to humorously declare them a "male and female wolf." On the day Lu Ziyue was scheduled to depart, Tang Cheng rushed to the airport.

Initially, she feigned a business meeting, apologizing for her past behavior towards him, his parents, and Feng Zhiyan, and wishing him and Feng Zhiyan a safe journey as she handed him a neck pillow. However, as Lu Ziyue walked towards security, Tang Cheng's emotions overwhelmed her, and she called out, asking for one last hug. To her surprise, Lu Ziyue turned and passionately kissed her.

He then revealed that he and Feng Zhiyan had broken up a long time ago and that his trip was merely a two-week exchange program, not a permanent relocation. He confessed that he, too, could not live without her, echoing her drunken sentiments from the previous night. Realizing his true feelings and that he had forgiven her, Tang Cheng happily embraced him.

Playfully, she accused him and Ling Xi of conspiring to trick her, and he responded with mock seriousness, asking how she would "punish" him. She smiled and replied she would "spare his life."
