My Mowgli Boy Episode 32 Recap
> My Mowgli Boy Recap
Ling Xi felt her heart warmed by Mowgli's words, realizing that there would always be someone in the world willing to tolerate her moods and emotions, making her feel incredibly lucky to have such a partner. Mowgli explained his feelings for her, likening it to the "imprinting effect" where a gosling sees the first creature as its mother, but quickly clarifying that his initial reliance on her had grown into genuine affection.
He loved her for her real self, despite her many flaws, and promised to support her even if she lost everything. Ling Xi happily announced that she had found a job, keeping the details a secret for now, and Mowgli offered to treat her to celebrate her first job. Meanwhile, Bai Yiling was preparing for a gathering with Zheng Li.
While on a video call with Zheng Li, she diligently applied a facial mask, hoping to look youthful and beautiful to outshine everyone. Zheng Li found her increasingly adorable. However, she accidentally fell asleep with the mask on and woke up the next morning with a red, swollen, and allergic face. Startled, she had no choice but to wear a mask to the event. Zheng Li found her predicament amusing.
Lu Ziyue also arrived with his girlfriend, Feng Zhiyan, a quiet and gentle woman who seemed perfectly matched with him and introduced herself as a classical literature teacher. At the dinner, they played a game to test couples' understanding of each other. Zheng Li and Bai Yiling displayed remarkable synchronicity, earning praise from everyone as a perfect match.
When asked what his girlfriend liked, Zheng Li, despite Bai Yiling's masked presence, passionately defended her age when a friend made a superficial comment about their "older woman, younger man" relationship. He argued that judging love by age was as shallow as judging life by money. In contrast, Lu Ziyue and Feng Zhiyan's interaction was more formal and polite, lacking the lively and playful atmosphere of a couple.
Later, while strolling, Feng Zhiyan expressed her insecurity and asked Lu Ziyue for a promise that he would never make her sad. She also mentioned her dream of growing old with someone, watching sunrises and sunsets, no matter where they lived, and noted his departure for abroad in two weeks. On another occasion, Mowgli accompanied Ling Xi to visit Ren He's grandmother, Ms. Wu, who was elderly and suffered from memory loss, often mistaking visitors for Ren He.
Ms. Wu, believing Ling Xi to be Ren He, greeted her warmly and inquired about her well-being. Ling Xi conversed with her for a long time, realizing how difficult Ren He's life had been and that she had been too harsh on Ren He previously. After the visit, Ling Xi paid part of Ms. Wu's medical expenses, intending to keep it a secret from Ren He to avoid adding to her burden.
Tang Cheng frequently visited Lu Ziyue's home, calling his mother "Mom" in front of neighbors and diligently playing the role of a daughter-in-law, much to Lu Ziyue's mother's delight. She even received tips from Lu Ziyue's mother on how to act more convincingly, like extending her "Mom" call and being more confident. When Lu Ziyue returned home and witnessed their close interaction, he was shocked. He suspected Tang Cheng was up to something and harshly criticized her.
Tang Cheng, unable to defend herself, was pulled to the rooftop by Lu Ziyue, who interrogated her about her alleged schemes. Tang Cheng insisted she had no ulterior motives, stating that she found warmth and felt like a loved daughter in his parents' home, something she had never experienced before. However, Lu Ziyue remained unconvinced and sternly informed her that he was leaving the country with Feng Zhiyan soon. Heartbroken, Tang Cheng left.
Lu Ziyue's parents scolded him for his cold treatment of Tang Cheng, explaining that she had helped Lu's mother when she was being bullied by neighbors. Realizing his mistake, Lu Ziyue felt deep regret and wanted to apologize via WeChat, but found himself unable to send the message.
Ling Xi brought Mowgli home and, before entering, gave him a detailed rundown of her family members' personalities and how to deal with them: Gao Jie was arrogant and unfriendly, Ling Yu was hypocritical and pretentious, and her father was like a tyrant to her but polite to guests.
She also opened up about Wen Yu, her stepmother, explaining her past resentment because her mother's belongings and memories were put away after Wen Yu arrived, making her feel her mother's image was fading. Ling Xi admitted she might have been too hard on Wen Yu and realized Wen Yu was a good person. She repeatedly warned Mowgli to remain calm no matter what happened.
During dinner, Mowgli proudly shared Ling Xi's successful startup proposal, which had secured funding from Mozi Capital. Ling Xi's father was pleased, while Ling Yu remained silent. Gao Jie, however, sarcastically questioned Ling Xi's project, suggesting it was just an "online farmers' market." Ling Xi calmly explained her platform for talented designers and even offered to share her detailed plan, which Gao Jie declined.
Ling Xi's father encouraged her to consider working at Wharf, but Ling Xi expressed her desire to pursue her own path, prioritizing freedom. Gao Jie, feeling like an outsider after seeing Ling Xi and Wen Yu getting along better, abruptly threw down her chopsticks and retreated to her bedroom. Upstairs, Gao Jie discovered Ling Yu's drone videos of Chu Shi. Enraged, she trashed the room and deleted the videos. Ling Yu, furious, shoved her away and stormed out.
Ling Xi, seeing the escalating family tensions, matured considerably. She suggested to her father that they hang his and Wen Yu's wedding photo, which had been stored in the utility room, noting that the empty wall looked bare. Her father agreed, and Ling Yu went to retrieve the photo, with Mowgli accompanying him.
While looking at old childhood photos, Ling Xi reminisced about her early years, including joining the Young Pioneers in first grade and performing as a "small river snail" in an artistic show, where she won first prize. She also recalled loving a pair of sneakers, one of which she lost while playing soccer. She laughed at her past self, acknowledging she had always been a bit careless with her belongings.
