My Mowgli Boy Episode 30 Recap
> My Mowgli Boy Recap
As Lu Ziyue tried to avoid Tang Cheng, a stack of books unexpectedly fell from a shelf, nearly hitting Tang Cheng's head. Lu Ziyue instinctively pulled her into his embrace. Tang Cheng saw this as an opportunity for reconciliation and invited him to dinner, but Lu Ziyue remained distant, refusing her invitation as he left with his current girlfriend, who was waiting for him.
Earlier, Lu Ziyue and Tang Cheng had found a shoebox, with Lu Ziyue believing it would lead to a divorce for the Yi couple. However, Tang Cheng confidently bet that once they saw the shoes, they would not divorce. Meanwhile, Ling Xi accompanied Li Yuheng to select clothes. She joked about his typically serious expression and inquired about his relationship status, wondering if he was single so she could set him up with Tang Cheng.
Their conversation flowed easily, and Li Yuheng's admiration for Ling Xi grew. At home, Mowgli prepared food for Chu Shi, and they discussed their views on environmental living while eating. Chu Shi attempted to repay Mowgli for the environmental activity expenses he covered, but Mowgli declined, asking if their organization often faced financial difficulties. Chu Shi explained that their non-profit environmental campaigns relied heavily on limited social donations, often leaving them short on funds.
She mentioned there were also full-time staff who promoted environmental awareness and managed ecosystems, which greatly piqued Mowgli's interest. Tang Cheng returned home disheartened, collapsing onto the sofa. She mused that love was like bullfighting: to ignite a man's pursuit, one must be elusive and unpredictable. Mowgli and Chu Shi watched her, recognizing this as a sign that her attempt at reconciliation had failed once again. Suddenly, Ling Xi called Tang Cheng, inviting her to dinner.
Tang Cheng was surprised by the offer from "a poor person" but eagerly accepted, unaware that Ling Xi intended to set her up with Li Yuheng. At the restaurant, Ling Xi tried to play matchmaker, praising Li Yuheng and analyzing his ideal partner before introducing Tang Cheng. However, Tang Cheng, still preoccupied with Lu Ziyue, found the evening uninteresting, showing no romantic interest in Li Yuheng.
Ling Xi noted Tang Cheng’s continued attachment to Lu Ziyue and advised her that, knowing Lu Ziyue's resolute personality, pursuing him further would likely be fruitless. She urged Tang Cheng to consider Li Yuheng instead. After dinner, Ling Xi suggested Li Yuheng drive Tang Cheng home, but both declined, exhibiting mutual disinterest. Tang Cheng quickly made her exit, leaving Ling Xi with Li Yuheng.
Just as Ling Xi and Li Yuheng were about to leave, Mowgli unexpectedly arrived, claiming he was just "taking a walk" near a restaurant over sixty kilometers from Tang Cheng's home. Li Yuheng quickly discerned Mowgli's jealousy. Mowgli then asserted his claim over Ling Xi, thanking Li Yuheng for giving "his girlfriend" a chance, and then rebuffed Li Yuheng's attempt to recruit him for a project, saying he didn't want to share a goal with "certain people."
Li Yuheng then offered to drive Ling Xi home. Ling Xi playfully responded that Mowgli had "good leg strength" and "liked to walk," implying Mowgli should walk, but then she chose to leave with Li Yuheng in his car, intentionally provoking Mowgli. As they drove away, Ling Xi chuckled, calling Mowgli "Asia's King of Vinegar" as she realized he was following their car. She later expressed how sweet his jealousy was and found him waiting for her at home.
Ling Yu decided to marry Gao Jie and returned home to discuss the wedding plans with his parents. His father and Wen Yu were delighted. Gao Jie was overtly complimentary to Wen Yu, which Ling Xi, upon returning home, found distasteful and openly mocked. Ling Xi told her brother, who seemed unhappy, to pull himself together and not cause their mother further worry, adding that while she disliked Ling Yu, she disliked Gao Jie even more.
Wen Yu later spoke privately with a visibly troubled Ling Yu in the kitchen, expressing her joy and pride that he was finally marrying. She recounted her worries from his childhood and urged him to cherish Gao Jie, making it difficult for Ling Yu to voice his true feelings. Leaving the house, Ling Yu and Gao Jie walked past a hot pot restaurant. Ling Yu was lost in thoughts of Chu Shi, which angered Gao Jie.
She provocatively insisted on eating at that specific restaurant, accusing Ling Yu of trying to protect his "beautiful memories" with Chu Shi. Their conversation quickly devolved into a bitter argument, with Ling Yu revealing he knew she had hired people to follow him. Gao Jie then accused him of forcing her into such behavior.
Ling Yu retorted that she first coveted the benefits he brought and then, after using him, wanted freedom, adding that in the adult world, one cannot have everything. The argument left Gao Jie so upset that she changed her mind about eating. Later that night, at Ling Yu's house, Gao Jie complained about the shower's inconsistent temperature and refused to eat the bird's nest stewed by Wen Yu.
She then demanded Ling Yu accompany her to send out wedding invitations, guilt-tripping him about having to pretend in front of his parents. Without his consent, she also used his phone to post about their marriage on WeChat Moments. Ling Yu was furious but helpless, resorting to sleeping on the floor. Unable to sleep, he drove out to the countryside, overwhelmed by his longing for Chu Shi.
Meanwhile, Chu Shi herself was disheartened, scrolling through Ling Yu's marriage announcement on her phone, finally realizing her feelings for him extended beyond mere friendship. Mowgli, having experienced the discomfort of jealousy, finally acknowledged that he should not have been so close to Chu Shi. He sincerely apologized to Ling Xi and, in return, asked her to maintain distance from Li Yuheng.
They shared a sweet kiss, only to be interrupted by Tang Cheng, who, feeling lonely in her room, complained about their public display of affection. The next day, Tang Cheng and Lu Ziyue presented the found shoes to Mr. and Mrs. Yi. Mr. Yi immediately recognized them as the wedding shoes he had given his wife.
However, Mrs. Yi vehemently denied it, insisting her shoes had a large pearl buckle, were bright red, and had chunky heels because of her back pain. Mr. Yi argued that the color could have faded over time and accused her of being unreasonable. Their argument escalated into a physical altercation, leaving Tang Cheng and Lu Ziyue feeling helpless. After leaving the Yi's house, Tang Cheng, attempting to play hard to get, refrained from inviting Lu Ziyue to dinner.
She expected him to be disappointed, but his indifferent reaction left her dejected, making her wonder if their relationship was truly over. Mowgli received his wages and a bonus from his construction job, but declined to stay, explaining he had other plans in a field he was most skilled in. Later, Tang Cheng made a video call to her parents. They were busy with wildlife conservation, and her mother mentioned a recent fall into the reeds during a night patrol.
Tang Cheng expressed concern, but her parents quickly downplayed it, proud of their work, and then abruptly ended the call to relocate to another reserve, leaving Tang Cheng feeling overlooked and sad. Meanwhile, Ling Xi met Li Yuheng, consciously keeping a "safe distance" between them to avoid Mowgli's potential jealousy. She anxiously inquired about her project proposal, which she had proudly called a "perfect draft."
Li Yuheng informed her that he had recommended it for a new company project, and it was now in the review department. Ling Xi was ecstatic, realizing her studio could reopen, allowing her to bring back her old employees. Li Yuheng cautioned her that her team needed to be assembled promptly, otherwise the project could be canceled. Ling Xi assured him she would form a perfect team within three days.
Thanking him for being "half her mentor," Ling Xi offered to treat Li Yuheng, but he dismissed her suggestions for dinner or a concert as "cliche." As she excitedly left, she accidentally bumped into him, profusely apologizing. She then called Mowgli, excitedly sharing the news about her project. Mowgli, remembering their earlier conversation, reminded her to maintain distance from Li Yuheng. Despite her agreement, Ling Xi couldn't help but express her admiration for Li Yuheng's charm and problem-solving abilities.
Mowgli, noting her "coquettish and worshipful eyes," jokingly said he would like Li Yuheng too if he were a girl, then warned her that she was making him jealous, to which Ling Xi playfully challenged him to "be jealous then."
