Ling Xi and Tang Cheng return home to find Mowgli kneeling on the ground, holding a bill. Tang Cheng initially assumes he is apologizing for his recent interactions with Chu Shi, commenting that he has "high consciousness." Mowgli, however, explains that he has both good news and bad news. The good news is that Li Yuheng, the CEO of Mozi Capital, highly praised Ling Xi's marketing plan. Ling Xi is thrilled by this.

The bad news quickly follows: Mowgli accidentally stained Li Yuheng's high-end custom-made suit, and the bill for its repair is 10,000 yuan, an amount Mowgli cannot afford. Both Ling Xi and Tang Cheng are shocked by the cost. Despite this setback, Ling Xi quickly regains her composure and declares her intention to lead them back to success. The next day, in class, Ling Xi actively participates, aiming to impress Li Yuheng.

She offers a detailed explanation of why the Vanguard Model is suitable for the domestic market, highlighting its simple strategies, ease of execution, and low transfer positions rate. After class, Ling Xi ambushes Li Yuheng at his car, offering him a fresh bowl of pumpkin porridge as a peace offering for the previous day’s accidental spill, though Li Yuheng claims no memory of the incident.

She then presents him with her revised marketing plan, claiming she worked on it all night and even attempts to use it to offset the 10,000 yuan debt for his stained suit. Li Yuheng remains unimpressed, criticizing her classroom performance as superficial rote learning and her plan as "full of bugs." As he tries to leave, Ling Xi stubbornly gets into his car, refusing to exit until he explains the flaws in her plan.

Exasperated, Li Yuheng calls her a "bandit" and states he is not obligated to be her tutor. He expresses his dislike for her opportunistic and pretentious nature, asserting that her tendency to take "shortcuts," to "pretend to understand when not," and "cater to others" has rendered her plan "a piece of waste paper." He orders her out, adding that the passenger seat is reserved for "important people." Ling Xi, humiliated, steps out of the car.

Afterward, Ling Xi repeatedly tries to call and text Mowgli, but he remains unreachable, leaving her feeling frustrated and upset. Meanwhile, Mowgli, Chu Shi, and Lu Ziyue participate in a spinning bike competition on campus to promote an environmental initiative. Chu Shi, utilizing her app, effectively engages the large crowd, explaining how cycling reduces carbon emissions and encouraging students to join.

She announces that for a one-yuan fee, participants can cycle 40 kilometers within three days and share in a prize pool funded by those who don't meet the goal. Many students enthusiastically sign up. Li Yuheng drives past, observing the successful event with an approving smile. Chu Shi praises Mowgli, saying he "got Ling Xi's true teaching," and Mowgli credits her app and the "macho and crowd effects" for making the event profitable.

When Chu Shi suggests celebrating with food, Mowgli asks her for a favor instead. Later, Ling Yu spots Mowgli and Chu Shi playfully bickering over food and feels a pang of jealousy. He then finds Ling Xi studying and chastises her, telling her to be more "like a woman" and "pay attention to her boyfriend." Ling Xi, already fuming about Mowgli's unresponsiveness, argues back, asserting her independence and popularity, and they part ways in annoyance.

Ling Yu’s final comment, "Control your boyfriend, don't let him run wild everywhere," only intensifies Ling Xi’s anger. Mowgli and Chu Shi later return, cycling together, with Mowgli carrying a large bag of snacks he bought for her. Ling Xi intercepts them, angrily demanding to know why Mowgli was unreachable all day. Mowgli apologizes, explaining they were busy all day pitching Ling Xi's advertising plans to several companies, who were greatly impressed and offered her job opportunities.

Chu Shi attempts to clarify that she was merely acting as Mowgli's translator, but Ling Xi cuts her off, asserting she is speaking to her boyfriend, not Chu Shi. Mowgli then asks Chu Shi to go home. After Chu Shi departs, Ling Xi aggressively questions Mowgli, accusing him of trying to become a "golden couple" with Chu Shi. Mowgli insists they are just good friends with shared goals in environmental protection.

Ling Xi dismisses the concept of pure friendship between men and women, especially when they are "in tune," and demands to know why he only acts this way with Chu Shi. Mowgli reassures Ling Xi that she is his only concern and apologizes for neglecting her calls, but Ling Xi accuses him of downplaying her feelings about "things never happened."

The argument escalates when Ling Xi questions why he opened a bottle for Chu Shi but not other girls, to which Mowgli responds, "She is different. Chu Shi is different, OK?" Stung by his words, Ling Xi storms off. Chu Shi, having overheard the argument, is deeply distressed and reflects on the increasing intimacy of her relationship with Mowgli.

Despite her unease, she decides to return home, reminding herself that she pays rent, and prepares to explain her side to Ling Xi. As she cautiously opens the door, she unexpectedly runs into Ling Xi. Later, in class, Ling Xi and Mowgli sit far apart, maintaining a cold distance. After class, Mowgli tries to approach her, but Ling Xi ignores him, walking past as if he were a stranger.

Meanwhile, Lu Ziyue is inundated with dozens of express delivery packages at his office, all from Tang Cheng. The packages contain everything from elegant tea sets and practical daily necessities to trendy clothes and accessories—all part of Tang Cheng’s elaborate plan to win him back. Tang Cheng follows him to the gym, where she intercepts other women attempting to flirt with Lu Ziyue.

She tries to reconcile with him, offering him a chocolate and a new pair of gloves, but Lu Ziyue declines them, stating his girlfriend already provides his essentials. He firmly tells Tang Cheng he has returned all her gifts and reiterates that their relationship is not appropriate for such gestures. Tang Cheng persists, proposing they rebuild their familiarity over dinner. Lu Ziyue rejects her, reminding her about his girlfriend and his evening work commitments.

Tang Cheng initially leaves but then returns, making a heartfelt confession that her pursuit is driven by genuine love, not competitiveness, and vows never to give up, insisting they will meet again. Lu Ziyue remains perplexed. Later, Lu Ziyue meets Mr. Yi for his divorce consultation. To his astonishment, Tang Cheng arrives as Mrs. Yi's lawyer.

A flashback reveals Tang Cheng’s method: she tied up Mr. Hou, the law firm’s director, in his office and threatened to expose compromising photos to his wife unless he revealed Lu Ziyue’s schedule. Back in the present, Mr. and Mrs. Yi immediately descend into a fierce argument, bickering over their vastly different personalities, lifestyles, and spending habits.

Mr. Yi insists on divorce due to their incompatibility, while Mrs. Yi vehemently refuses, claiming their relationship still has hope and "making do is a virtue." Their constant squabbling prevents any productive discussion. Eventually, both Mr. and Mrs. Yi storm out in frustration, leaving Lu Ziyue to reflect that incompatible people inevitably reach such an impasse, emphasizing the importance of a "timely stop loss." Tang Cheng, however, maintains a more optimistic view, asserting that it’s too early to draw conclusions and that one should "not jump to a conclusion until the last minute."
