To avoid any further trouble, Ling Yu reluctantly offered to compensate the man, who then demanded an exorbitant 20,000 yuan. Just as Ling Yu was about to agree, Chu Shi, who had been observing the incident from the crowd, intervened decisively. The following day, as Mowgli finished packing, Ling Xi tried various tactics to delay his departure. She repeatedly questioned if he had packed all his belongings, including local specialties, a tent (which Mowgli revealed Lu Ziyue had already put in the car), and the pajamas she had given him. Mowgli patiently confirmed he had packed everything. Ling Xi then asked to take one last look at the apartment. Mowgli reminded her that looking wouldn't allow her to stay.
Feigning forgetfulness, Ling Xi claimed she couldn't find her car keys and enlisted Mowgli's help to search. She quickly located them hidden between the sofa cushions but cunningly concealed them on her person, pretending the search was ongoing. She lamented that a new key would take at least a week to get, implying Mowgli would have to stay. Mowgli, however, soon discovered the keys hidden in her clothes.
Defeated in her key-hiding attempt, Ling Xi tried another strategy, asking if he was hungry, hoping to use a meal as an excuse to keep him longer. Mowgli, seeing through her ploy, indulged her, claiming he was indeed hungry. Ling Xi happily rushed to prepare a meal, glad for the extended time. Lu Ziyue arrived at Tang Cheng’s home with brunch, including an avocado and egg pancake, tuna salad, and orange juice.
He explained he had spent over ten hours watching makeup blogger videos to understand her interests, surprising Tang Cheng with his newfound knowledge of fashion and beauty. Lu Ziyue then compared their unique relationship to Stephen Hawking and his first wife, emphasizing that while vastly different people are often attracted to each other, such relationships sometimes fail. Tang Cheng, deeply moved by Lu Ziyue’s profound feelings, used the commotion as an opportunity to escape. As she ran, she pondered whether her elaborate plan had succeeded or failed, feeling as though she was fleeing the situation.
While Ling Xi was still preparing food for Mowgli, urging him to stop eating so much, she received a phone call from Tutu. Tutu informed her that the studio was in trouble, with hundreds of customers suddenly complaining about fake products and requesting refunds without returning the goods, implying a possible framing.
Ling Xi, secretly pleased to have an excuse to postpone Mowgli's departure, quickly reassured him that work came first and she had to go, promising to delay his send-off. Mowgli understood, telling her to prioritize her work. Upon arriving at her studio, Ling Xi was confronted by two men, who identified themselves as Professional fraud fighters. They were recording her and immediately demanded money, accusing her studio's sleepwear designs of plagiarism.
Ling Xi scoffed at their "exaggerated" appearance and accused them of being scammers, loudly declaring her studio never plagiarized. The men presented two nightgowns, one being her studio's and the other the "original" design, arguing that hers was an inferior copy despite being priced much higher.
Ling Xi dismissed their claims as doctored images and threatened to sue them, daring them to answer her call by mockingly calling them "King of the Golden Horn and King of the Silver Horn," which they did. Just as Ling Xi was loudly declaring her innocence, Tutu and other staff members rushed out. They nervously apologized to the fraud fighters and pulled Ling Xi inside. Ling Xi, still furious, insisted on continuing her argument with the men. However, once inside, her staff member, Ren He, quietly confessed that he had indeed plagiarized the design, leaving Ling Xi speechless.
