Mowgli explained to Ling Xi that he obtained the documents so he could frequently return to accompany her, whether it was for facial masks, grilled food, watching TV, or even cleaning her large house for free. Ling Xi found his reasons amusing and a little foolish, pointing out that all the documents he obtained—his ID card, student ID card, military officer ID card, passport, marriage certificate, and even a disability certificate—were fake.

She teasingly asked whom he had married and suggested calling the police. Mowgli, disheartened, asked how he could get a real ID. Ling Xi replied that he would need to know who his parents were. Mowgli's face fell as he admitted he didn't have parents, questioning if he would ever have a real ID card in his life. He quickly composed himself, stating he was used to it and that there would always be other ways.

Changing the subject, he said he was hungry and asked Ling Xi to fry him a steak she had bought on sale. Ling Xi playfully called him demanding but agreed to cook. Bai Yiling returned to her hometown for her annual leave, attending a family gathering where her relatives immediately began pressuring her about having children. Her uncle particularly gloated about his grandson's college admission, openly taunting Bai Yiling about her childless marriage.

Bai Yiling's father, unable to bear seeing his daughter mistreated, spoke up, leading to a heated argument with her uncle that escalated into a physical fight, leaving her father with a minor injury. After the uncomfortable gathering disbanded, Bai Yiling tended to her father's wound, scolding him for fighting at his age but also expressing gratitude for his defense.

Later, her mother presented her with a warming brown sugar, red dates, and ginger soup and inquired why Bai Yiling's husband, Chi Xu, hadn't accompanied her. Bai Yiling stammered, making excuses about Chi Xu being busy with work and deleting his social media for professional reasons, trying to conceal her divorce from her parents.

Her mother, concerned about Bai Yiling's well-being in the city, pressed for more details about her life and her relationship with Chi Xu, suggesting they needed to "endure" difficulties in marriage. Bai Yiling eventually mentioned a colleague who found a new, caring boyfriend after a divorce, but her mother dismissed it as a "TV drama" scenario, stressing the importance of having children.

Despite Bai Yiling's suggestion of not having children, her mother assured her that medical advancements allowed women to have children at older ages and that she would support her, telling Bai Yiling to "play for another two years" before having children. Meanwhile, Ling Xi, determined to uncover Mowgli's past, learned that the son of the forest ranger who had cared for Mowgli lived in Hula Village. She drove there, but her car soon became stuck in deep mud.

A kind old man offered her a ride on his tricycle. Upon arriving at his home, the old man and his wife warmly welcomed her. The old man informed her that Hula Village was still a long walk away, at least until "tomorrow morning." Concerned about the late hour and dangerous journey, the old woman insisted Ling Xi stay overnight. Ling Xi, after some polite refusals, accepted their hospitality.

She enjoyed a delicious meal of home-grown vegetables, praising the unique taste unavailable in the city. She also admired the rough burlap clothes sewn by the old woman, finding them "warm," "comfortable," "environmentally friendly," "simple and original." Ling Xi explained that she now lived a "minimalist life," inspired by a friend who taught her "not to waste anything."

The old woman, curious, asked why a city dweller like Ling Xi would come to Hula Village, to which Ling Xi replied she was looking for a gift for a friend. Back in the city, Mowgli felt a pang of loneliness as he crafted items by himself, wondering if anyone would miss him once he left.

He received a message from Ling Xi implying she was camping and wouldn't be back that night, making him slightly jealous and question if she had other friends he didn't know about. He tried calling Lu Ziyue for dinner but hung up upon hearing heavy breathing, mistakenly thinking Lu Ziyue was busy, unaware Lu Ziyue was exercising. Ling Xi later video called him, appearing to be scratching and in rough clothes.

Mowgli teased her about being "possessed by a monkey spirit." Ling Xi, still pretending to be camping, described a fabricated "primitive" experience of catching loaches, climbing mountains, and seeing "strange animals," then mused that Mowgli's former life in nature must have been "very happy." Mowgli countered that he was also happy living in Ling Xi's home and the city. Ling Xi observed that "everyone is not so satisfied with his own life," but Mowgli insisted he was "very satisfied."

When Mowgli asked when she would return, Ling Xi replied not tomorrow, as she still had "what I should do and met the person I want to meet." Mowgli looked as if he wanted to say something, then held back. Ling Xi playfully teased him for missing her after only two days.

At around 11 AM, Lu Ziyue arrived at Tang Cheng's apartment, bringing healthy nuts and lecturing her on the importance of early sleep and good eating habits, warning against late nights and too much water to avoid swelling and dark circles. Tang Cheng, still half-asleep and annoyed, abruptly shut her bedroom door on him. She had deliberately left her living room in disarray, hoping to scare Lu Ziyue away with the mess.

To her surprise, when she finally emerged, Lu Ziyue had meticulously cleaned the entire apartment, even organizing her belongings and creating a detailed list of where everything was stored. However, her shock turned to fury when she discovered that he had washed her expensive, brand-name designer dress, which explicitly stated it could not be dry-cleaned, hand-washed, or machine-washed. The dress, a rare indulgence she bought only once a year, now had a large hole.

Lu Ziyue, bewildered by the delicate garment's care instructions, immediately apologized and offered to buy her a replacement. At the mall, Tang Cheng pushed Lu Ziyue's patience, making extravagant purchases and showcasing her "exaggerated" consumption philosophy, arguing she deserved it after working hard. When Lu Ziyue calmly responded that they would just need a "bigger cloakroom," she tried another tactic.

She presented him with two similar red lipsticks, asking him to distinguish between a "classic red" and a "bright red" for a business meeting, emphasizing their "different temperaments." When he declared them "the same," Tang Cheng used it as an example of their incompatible shopping ideas and inability to support each other in life and career, suggesting they might not be compatible as a couple. Later, she chose a popular restaurant with a three-hour waiting line.

Lu Ziyue questioned waiting so long for a new, untried restaurant, but Tang Cheng insisted it was a "must-eat" top-three spot. She continued to press her point, claiming their differing opinions on shopping and now even restaurants indicated their incompatibility. Lu Ziyue, however, cut her off, firmly stating he was willing to wait, reaffirming his commitment. Meanwhile, Ling Xi successfully reached Hula Village and located the ranger's son.

Showing him a picture of Mowgli, she eagerly asked if he recognized him. The man looked closely at the photo, at first finding him familiar, then exclaimed with recognition, "This, this is Ye! This is Ye!" confirming Mowgli's identity as Ye. Elsewhere, Chu Shi, on a video call with her parents, hastily fabricated a story about a Chinese drama rehearsal to conceal her location in China when she heard a courier announcement.

She then sought out Lu Ziyue, initially apologizing for a map, but quickly confessed her primary goal in China was to find a boyfriend embodying traditional Chinese charm. She described her ideal partner, using phrases that clearly alluded to Lu Ziyue himself, praising his fair skin, cool hair, and knowledge of tea art. Lu Ziyue, misunderstanding her intent, began to suggest introducing her to a literary student.

Just as Chu Shi was about to clarify her feelings, Lu Ziyue received a phone call from his "girlfriend." Chu Shi's spirits plummeted upon realizing he was already taken. Lu Ziyue, needing to buy groceries for a party, apologized and quickly departed. Dejected, Chu Shi pondered her options for "oily and spicy" food to "cure" her heartbreak, lamenting that "without love, the food is tasteless" and wondering if she would ever find such an "excellent Chinese boyfriend."

Later, while skateboarding and reviewing Chinese characters, she narrowly avoided colliding with Ling Yu's car. Ling Yu glanced up, his eyes briefly meeting her "clever eyebrows and eyes," unaware that this chance encounter was with the person fated for him. Mowgli, who was to return to the forest the next day, felt increasingly despondent.

While making his final grocery run, he received a call from Lu Ziyue, who sounded weak from his gym efforts and asked him to buy eggs and chicken breast. Mowgli reflected on Ling Xi's continued absence, wondering if she would be happier once he, whom he considered a burden, left.

He quietly questioned when he would ever see her again, completely unaware of Ling Xi's dedicated mission in Hula Village to uncover his true identity and prevent him from experiencing regret.
